Men! Take $10 to Goodwill. You're bound to find an entire steampunk outfit for that, or less. As for the fine details, you don't need to spend an arm and a leg on any of that either. At fleamarkets you can find all sorts of fun things. I have never spent more then $20 on any one thing on either of my costumes. (other then the black corset which set me back $200... and even then I got it for half price. But it was so worth it.)

Keep your eye out for sales at Walmart, Best Buy or Circuit City! They sell some cameras for about 50.00-70.00 for low prices. Granted camera's not the BEST quality, but it's still a good starter. I got my camera fr 119.00 (10% off regular price) with a 10 megapixel and 3 or 6 optical zoom; can't remember the zoom part. All I know is it was a functional camera C;
Also, as for the low pay check, listen to Dixie and catch a goodwill or thrift store. A vest, dress shirt, pants and shoes will cost about 20.00 depending where you go. As for trinkets and the like, try eBay or places online; your local area works as well.

Everyone's goodwill is different, but at mine Coats, Bomber jackes and the like are usually $2.00, and on the off chance you find a duster or a trench coat, they're usually around $5.00. The first Boddice I ever made was out of an old bomber jacket I got at goodwill, but christ it took me like 2 weeks to get the smell out if it. Thats the bad thing about goodwill and the inabillity to put leather in a washing machine.

So for those who don't know, it rained today in Texas, HOWEVER! IT DIDN'T stop our picnic from happening.
We went near the zoo to eat (only got a few pictures of feeding some ducks and us making funny faces), so I'll just show yall the good stuff off us looking like crazy people at the Alamo(mainly the ones including me x___x )
We had a lot of photo ops with the tourists as well, which was a hoot. I really enjoyed the fact that at least 6 bunches of people within an hour asked to take their photo with us. It was fun c:
