I'm fairly biased towards Asian languages, because Indonesian was the second language I learnt, and Japanese the third, but I have to say that both Japanese and Indonesian are quite pretty-Japanese is so soft and has no gutteral sounds, and Indonesian because it is spoken in a way that rolls up and down nicely. (By the way, I'm referring to Bahasa Indonesia, not any colloquial languages, as they tend to be harsher on the ears) However, I do believe that Italain and Spanish are two other beautiful languages, and I love German as well, depending on the regional accent. (I think I like higher German better-I think that's what it's called.) African languages (I'm sorry, I don't know the name of the one I'm talking about!) are very vibrant and wonderful to listen to, and I even love listening to Mandarin. It also can depend on the context and how the words are being said. Indonesian, Italian (especially), Spanish and even Finnish are beautiful languages to sing in: Japanese is pretty too, but is harder to follow, as they have a tendency to break up the words to fit the melody. Mandarin is nice when spoken, but can be hard to understand in songs. I still have more of a preference for Asian languages, but that is because I am used to them. I suppose that it results in a person's preference.

Right now in my chorus class I'm learning a song in latin, and it's just so beautiful that it makes me want to cry.

Korean is, to me, one of the most beautiful languages. It is very soft and light on the tongue. I could listen to it for hours.

Not that this really has much to do with the spoken sounds of Korean, but it's widely accepted that the Korean alphabet is the most practical and easiest one ever created.

I also like Japanese when it's spoken slowly and with more annunciation, like in music. When Japanese talk quickly it's really squished together.

I also love Mandarin Chinese. It flows so well.

And, I think Italian is really pretty. Spanish is nice, too.

I always wanted to hear what English sounds like to a foreigner, since it's hard to judge it when you've spoken it your whole life. /random

i agree with you proudly_jewish! i take french right now in high school, and i plan to keep up with it for all 4 years of my high school life. only 3 people from my graduating 8th grade class took french, while the rest took spanish....but one of them is planning to switch to spanish, so that only leaves two people, me and this one guy.

we have arguments on how french is pronounced, but it's all good. heh

I love French... currently I'm taking it in high school, and am in French 3.

The more I learn, and the more complex I make sentences as I learn more never ceases to amaze me at how beautiful it sounds.

I plan on taking every language I possibly can in college, but I do plan on continuing with French, and learning Italian.
