"I'm glad..." Zeph said happily. It would mean that he had that extra layer of protection against the dragon. Then he grabbed a chair and brought it around the table so that he had something between himself and the two in the room while he sat down, "We'll leave the big, important stuff to the two outside."

"Is that supposed to imply something?" Kivay raised an eyebrow, placing one hand on her hip and the other hand on her sword.

Zuko looked at both of them, as she sat down on the table then went to sleep.

"I'm just saying it's better if we don't get ourselves mixed up with things that are dangerous, especially big ones. With this war coming up, we should leave it to those who have the right resources instead of getting in their way and messing things up..." he knew he was already in a dangerous situation just by being around Kivay, but he wanted to avoid getting into any more problems. He looked down and pet Zuko on the head, "...ya know, like this crazy bird here. I mean it took Dusk head on and survived."

"You sound really afraid of this Dusk person," Kivay walked over to the window, glanced outside, and then back at Zeph, "But I think you are weak for a male. I'm sure most people could take you down."

"True...we didn't have a decent fight earlier. Or maybe it's because you're too afraid to have a real battle? I think you held back earlier," Kivay tilted her head, "Maybe you're a coward?"

"Look, I only held back earlier because I just wanted to slow you down enough so I could at least get a sensible conversation in, but you went ahead and attacked me at full force! Not all fights are just to see who comes out as a victor. And besides, I prefer to live another day, so...you could say I'm on a hiatus from fighting...had too many bad run-ins..." Zeph slumped down. The last part of his short speech dwindled down a bit, making it seem like he had been disheartened.

Zuko woke up and shot a blast of lightening strong enough to kill anybody in a matter of seconds, she was hoping that would shut both of them up so she could sleep.

Zeph shot backwards, falling on the floor after being startled by the outburst, "SEE!! Never safe for one moment around people like you!!!"
Zeph scrambled to his feet, "I'm out of here! If you need me I'll be somewhere else in town!"
He rushed over to the door and opened it, seeing that Alen was in the way, he just quickly maneuvered around Alen and then down the hallway.

"Zeph!" Kivay went after him, also moving around Alen. She grabbed Zeph's arm, then she hissed, "Don't be such a coward...it's embarrassing!"

"There's nothing wrong with wanting to live a little longer," Zeph mumbled, then he yanked his arm away from Kivay. Then he looked Kivay in the eyes, telling her that he was dead serious, "Your method to live is through fighting and appearing tough, my method is different. Don't try to force me to duplicate your life...I just, need to find my own way...ya know? You wouldn't want someone forcing you to live their life, would you?"
He smiled, then patted Kivay on the shoulder without allowing her to reply, "I knew you would understand!"
Then he turned around and continued his walk out of the inn.

Kivay stood there, thinking about what Zeph said, then she ran up next to him and walked along side him, "You may not know this, but I came from a different world. I hated this world for the fact that there were so many people who would not give a second thought to raising a sword against a dragon, even during the time I behaved. I could have just ran away from it all, went back home and forget that everything that happened here ever occurred. But look, I'm still here. There are plenty of things I would love to do here, on this world. If I ran away, I would miss out on all of that. There's so much more you can do if you strive and move forward rather than just running away from all the things that bother you. And besides, this war, if the bad guys win then you won't have anywhere else to run to. In fact, you can get an utterly painful death, as you're allowed to live long enough to think back on your life that's filled with a million regrets."
She gave an smug, yet evil smile, "I hope that speech helps you."
