(Question? I am level 5 but not a Gennin since I don't meet the skill requirements. Can I use two dice or is it still one?)
Karite was surprised that Maya as strong as she was could move as graceful and as quickly as himself. She had more experience in combat that was certain.
This was going to be fun indeed. As he felt her loosen Karite quickly moved his body trying to flip far enough away to give him some distance to plan another attack, but the as he was on one arm pushing back he saw a flash of Maya's body. The strike hit his shoulder with enough force to send the boy rolling along the grounds.
Karite stood slowly looking at Maya. She seemed to be having just as much fun as he was. Not a surprise considering how much she liked Taijutsu. This was her medium and it was bring her some form of happiness.
Grinding his teeth from the last blow Karite was a little wobbly and since his arm was pretty much numb he would have to resort to using his legs for strikes now. Removing his vest, Karite sat it down by the fire to dry. Along with his mesh shirt. The last thing he needed was to be begging for new clothes.
As he turned back towards Maya his scars radiating in the sun of the Shimagkure winter he had changed a lot since first meeting Maya the day of that festival. His body had been worn down and his face marked with shame, but he was still Karite the Reaper of time.

Karite was unsure of what was about to happen but he had no choice. He was in the moment now and was enjoying the time with Maya, although she was kicking his a** pretty good.
Breathing in deeply Karite jerked forward with all his force. He was planning on hitting her square in that pretty jaw line of hers. She was smiling for once but lets see if she smiled after this next hit.
Sinking ever deeper into the ground Karite hoped his shoulder would hold up for his next move. It was going to be a risky maneuver if she blocked it again. His entire body would be wide open, but Karite couldn't lose a fight and not show off. That wouldn't be like him at all.
As he neared Maya with about the length of his body left. The boy sunk his hands into the snow and soon was vertical in the air. The suns rays casting a perfect silhouette of the boys body as he brought a heel down on Maya's head. "Hope this is fast enough for you Boss Lady. Two Ton Pillar!"

Orika held up her hands and stepped in between Shisei and Xyn, her back more to Xyn, of course, for she would never entrust the snake to protect her blind spots. "Come on, there's been enough arguing for one day, don't you think?" The words barely slipped from her mouth before Maya landed the first blow on Karite. Great, just freaking great! Orika whipped around and was about to say something when she noticed the sheer glee in both participants' eyes. They... loved fighting for the sake of fighting? It was so unlike her philosophy, which though skewed, advocated fighting always for a cause and never for the enjoyment alone. She'd seen enough violence for the sake of violence in her life and didn't want anymore people hurt. The spar in the barn had been for her honor, for she couldn't back down from a challenge she ended up winning anyhow. However, Karite's fight with Maya was fruitless, for everyone present except him knew that there was no way he'd possibly win. Orika debated on her stance in their conflict. Should she help her boyfriend, stick with Maya, her sempai, or stay out of it all together? Well, Orika was never a proponent for inactivity, no matter if it got her in trouble. And Maya did want to see teamwork, didn't she? She had to retain her faith in Karite! "Try some wrestling moves, Karite-kun!" she shouted, giving him a thumbs up and subsequent cheer.
+1 to Karite

Orika teetered and allowed herself to fall back on her butt. This time, however, she landed on the kama and club strapped to the back of her pants and winced. She had to remember to thank Kore later on for retrieving her weapon, well, as soon as her behind stopped hurting. But she couldn't very well take out the weapons for fear that Maya or Xyn would confiscate Shisei's hard earned work. For now, she had to smile and nod and pretend everything was alright or else they would suspect her of something, if not Maya, then that keen-eyed Xyn. Orika laid back on a snow drift, tilted at an angle so that she could still watch the action progressing in front of her. Although Karite's skills were significantly lower than Maya, it was still admirable to see him, bare-chested and all (Orika stifled a giggle), try with all those fancy, agile moves. It was like he was trying to show off. After all, wouldn't it be better to simply go in with a punch or a kick or was there something about honor at stake that she didn't understand? Was it honor... or just the male ego? Orika frowned. Karite would have to put his emotions aside and think rationally if he really wanted to win. He was overconfident, to say the very least, and too filled with euphoria and adrenaline to probably feel the pain that indicated to a person that they needed to stop fighting before they sprain something and can't train for days on end. Still, his utter lack of doubt made her want to believe that Karite really could win this.

Orika tore her eyes from the fight for a second to look nervously at Xyn and his book. "What's in there?" she asked, pointing to what could easily be classified as his third arm, "It sounds like a cynical novel that only looks at the bitter side of life. I mean, isn't sunshine free? Oh, and so is the air we breathe. We wouldn't be alive without it and all we have to do is not burn a billion gazillion fires at once. That's not exactly what I'd call a price." The girl went on chatting, almost to herself, as she waved her arms and indented two half circles in the snow for angel wings. "Prices are mostly a human invention. Nature don't care if you punch Shisei in the nose and he could even do nothing about it, as unlikely as that is. Not everything comes with a price." Orika rolled to her feet and stepped back to admire her second angel. This one had really cool wings that stretched to the side, open and ready to take off, just like she was. Gah... "Karite, you better not get too beat up. I don't want to carry you around all day," Orika called, smirking at the boy. All of a sudden, a great fireball erupted through the air in the distance. Orika watched with wonder and quickly deduced the cause; Only Shinichi-sama had the power to throw such a beautiful fireball. "Come on, hurry! I want to see what's up," she whined. If it was an attack, she wanted to help and even if Shinichi was just training, she wanted to watch that too!

Maya shrieked with laughter as she threw herself backwards, dodging Karite easily and landing easily, watching him with bright eyes. Her anger was slowly disappearing, giving way to the easy joy and feral happiness she found in fighting, in inflicting damage. She chuckled and stood easily, rolling her shoulders and holding her hand out to Karite, who had to be hurting somethin' fierce.
"Get up kitten...you got a lott'a work to do still," she said quietly, though the small smile still tugged at the edge of her lips. Baki stood and walked over to her, gnawing on her forearm lightly and, in his way, congratulating her for avoiding the taking of damage this time around. She scratched his ears with her free hand, still waiting for Karite to stand. There was activity in the village; she was slightly curious as to what it was. The hides could wait.

Karite smiled as he took Maya's hand. She was good and that was to be expected. Although Karite hadn't seen her smile or laugh since he had been there. It was good to see and made him happy. "You got it Boss lady" As he got on his feet he began rolling his shoulder around in his socket hoping it was still good. he had a feeling he was going to need all the strength he could muster.
"Glad to hear you laugh Maya-Sama. Its good to know I am not the only one with a good feeling when I fight. Even if I am getting kicked around." Chuckling Karite went to put back on his clothing as it seemed dry and much warmer then standing around in the cold half naked. "Well Orika, lets get to it. Must be something of interest this village never sees a dull day it seems. Come on Shisei, where we go you go. That's the rules of nature for a long time to come." Karite breathed in deeply with a big smile on his face. Life was going to get better he could feel it in his gut.
Whistling he remembered the most import piece of his day. "Kore!" The boy yelled. "Wake up you sleepy head! We got adventures to partake in. You cant be lying around all day like a lump." The fight had gotten Karite excited. Now no one was safe from his joy now.
Kore instantly shot up from his sleep as he heard the all to familiar high pitched squeal he came to associate with Karite. Something was happening it sounded good from the sound of the boys voice. Booming from the tent the young cub bonded up to its partner and friend and began to hop circles around him. The cub was excited to see his friend in such good condition. Even Kore was feeling better. A hundred percent kind of feeling. This was going to be a good day for all of them he felt.

Silent snake was contempt in sulking away while thinking of a plot to defeat this new nemesis. Unfortunately, like a hungry mongoose, the boy had decided he’d continue to feed his hunger and try and take a bite out of the serpent. If he only new just how hard this snake could bite back. Just not at the moment. Shisei was not expecting this character to pursue him. The snake child turned around to listen to him taken a back. “The nerve of him…” His mouth was left speechless trying to decipher this meaning. If anything this kid had was that he was more puzzling with his speech than Karite. Luckily Orika as well as Karite deciding to fight Maya gave the child enough time to think. “Fool. Why would you go fight her when you know you cannot win…. At least you’re useful as a distraction.” With the analytical mind in full force Shisei was going to take advantage of this encounter. If he wanted to play games, then this would be the chance for the serpent to find out the capacity of this competitor. “You’re not so interesting. Still if you want to talk then I guess we can do that. If it’s not too much of an effort for you. After all you need to conserve the meager energy you have. You’re going to be the cost for my words? Just like how you paid with your eye for knowledge. How tragic a person who has to lose of all of that to gain something that they still lack in. I’ll tell you this. If someone has the capacity, then nothing will be futile for them. Just because most cannot do it does not mean no one can. I have a question for you Xyn. If you found out your pursuit of knowledge was futile then what would you do?” the serpent responded.

[wow that's twice I've forgotten the roll. Must be a bad omen...
Edit: But I'll put a spin on this one and make it my exit post. ^_^]
By the time Shisei began the battle of the minds, the battle of the fields had just ended. He only paid half attention to Karite’s battle. What was the point of paying it much mind when Maya would so easily dominate him. The only thing to learn from that would be how foolish his peer was. Orika began to cheer the boy on his fight. “Of course… the other fool.” The farm girl began to say something and then the poet rushed over. Something about going into the village. All these people were beginning to annoy him. The day started off so nicely, now look at it. This mono eye fool was destroying his work with each breath he took. “Where I go, you two follow.” Shisei stated walking away from the group. He walked on ahead to at least get some momentary peace from the group. “Xyn. If it isn’t too much effort for you, then follow.” the serpent stated after. This was also a test. Shisei was the first to leave the grounds, not checking to see how close behind the others were.

Xyn grunted when he realized Karite and Maya were fighting. The only thing that kept his temper down was the fact that Maya seemed to want to fight. Not only that, but he had never really watched this girl fight, only her crushed demeanor afterward. This was far different. She seemed happy. That smile...
Orika's sudden, and extremely unwelcome intrusion was in some ways fortunate. Xyn had completely lost his train of thought. His heart beating somewhat faster than he wanted to let on, Xyn started to turn his back to Shisei. Continuing this conversation was pointless at the moment. He'd simply test this boy's patience. He walked away with heavy steps, trying to drown out Orika's comments and questions.
"Orika... the sunlight can burn us. The air we breath can grow violent and become wind. Everything is a dual-edged sword if taken for granted." Xyn kept walking away from Shisei, not hesitating from his words. They were growing more meaningless as he heard them.
"Such a thing... Knowledge is never futile. It can always be used to meet some objective. What is futile is pursuing the wrong objective. So tell me..." Xyn finally stopped as he stood beside Maya, then turned his head over his left shoulder so that his raven's eye stared into his.
"What objective do you seek? Into what kind of horizon do those eyes peer? You seem to desire a path of conflict, a path that will never reach me. If you wish to travel the path that sees me cut down at your feet, you should figure out why you have such a need. I have no need to follow." Xyn could see this boy wanted something from Maya, and he would find out what it was before he would allow him to do anything that would possibly hurt her.
"Maya...?"

Orika rolled her eyes when Karite sucked up major and called Maya Maya-sama. "Alright, I'll be right there," she replied, frowning at her snow angel. It looked so plain as it was. So, did she want to finish this symbolically or literally as with all her other creations? The farm girl thought for a moment, then kicked a tonne of grey snow onto the wings haphazardly. There were no such things as angels. Orika licked her lips to ward off the dry air and giggled when Xyn made his reply to her eager questions. "You are so dark!" she exclaimed, whirling around and taking a deep breath of the crisp wintry air, "Those aren't prices you pay necessarily. Sunlight can burn, but only if you're stupid enough to stay in the sun that long. And the powerful gusts... where would most of sea art be without intense waves and typhoons? If those are really prices, then why can't they be benefits as well? You just gotta look at things a different way." Orika chuckled and spun in a quick circle, then grabbed Xyn's hand all of a sudden and started sprinting to the village square. "Come on! I bet you're more than a dusty stack of books and riddles!" she conjectured. It felt so good to be alive and this day hadn't even really started!
