"My name is Vincent Valentine, Paladin of the Emerald Fist. And just who is this...man, and I use the term lightly, whom I am supposed to "pledge my servitude" to?" Vincent turns to the others, "Hey, didn't that Minotaur Lord say something similar? You know, I say we do the same to these createns that we did to those three!" Vincent turns back to the goblin apprentice and gives it a cold, diabolical smile, "All agreed?"
((If you all want to be...nicer (bleh) at first, then let me know and I'll remove the post and save it for later. Otherwise, I think it's time to poweder some ancient spellweaver butt.))

Lazarus jumps in front of Vincent, bowing low, "I appologise for my friend. He resently over came a demonic curse, and his temper is still a bit short. Now then, my name is Lazarus, my title is 'Blue Adept, Arch-Magus Lazarus, The Fallen.' I am a practioner of the arcane arts, and perhaps, due to an orginization I am involved with, you master and I could exchange some information?"
Lazarus smiles lightly, crossing his hands behind his back. His right hand gently covers his left, holding the Force Field he had crafted into the glove on his left hand, keeping it ready incase of attack.

Perrian walked next to Lazarus and bowed. His staff remained gripped in his right hand. "I am Perrian, the White. I am an Angelic Healer. I am sorry if we had a bad start with you. Might you, like Lazarus said, have any info that we could exchange?" Perrian said kindly and smiled.

Vincent huffs, mutters something akin to "I apologize." and steps away from the others. While doing so he descretely adjusts his equipment, ready to spring at a moments notice.
((I told you all I'd change it if that wasn't the route you wanted. Didn't have to make Vincent look all moody... stare ))

Fury stares intently at the Goblin Apprentice, envisioning the Goblin's future at the hands of the Spiritual Fist... Whispering quietly to Vincent, Fury says, "The Goblins mine..." Pasting an insincere smile to his face, Fury follows up with, "Umm, yeah that's right. Information and what not. You scratch our back and we'll scratch yours, so to speak."

Lazarus looks to Fury, hopeing that his point is given to his teammate, "Fury, these men are obviously practictioners of the mystic arts, and to them, the only true master is magic. If we can use them, their help, or their information in to our ends to take down the beast through the double doors, then by all means, I suggest we befriend them to do just that." His voice is hushed, but steady, with an underlineing statement of that says If need be, we will kill them and force what we have to from their hands. But a fight we shouldn't always assume is what is needed.
Lazarus is normally the leap first, look never type, but aginst casters, in a party not as prone to defense aginst magic, he wants to help his friends surrive. Turning back to the near-lich-like man, and his goblin aprentance, he smiles lightly, "We know from previous rooms, and the look of your quarters here, that the dragon god can't take too much stock in your opinion. One with the force of power you radiate should have an army of willing minions, creatures, and people beneath you. Help us, and we will do our best to help you."
((Aww, come on Vincent, play as you will, don't let us sway how your character acts. Vincent is an outlet of yourself, and nothing we say should affect how you make him act. razz ))

The undead sorceror turns at Lazarus' statement, a lipless grin upon his fleshless face. "What would you know of magic, foolish mortal? The price I have paid for my magic far exceeds anything beyond your simplistic comprehension. And the Dragon God Ru-Dolph has been very understanding of my... needs shall we say. Without that understanding, my minions would never have been completed." Having said this, the Lich gestures grandly, as 3 monstrosities step out of hidden alcoves, shuffling slowly to his side. Seemingly combined of foulest nightmare, the creatures seem to emanate with an aura of suffering, as if every passing moment is another dedicated to the existence of agony. The Goblin Servant turns, an eager light in his eye, fueled by his master's display. "Now perhaps you understand your purpose here. You shall become the next of my master's great creations, to better serve the Dragon God Ru-Dolph!"

Vincent, beging a paladin of no small measure, finds this new development beyond his ability to ignore. Information be damned. "YOU FOUL, UNDEAD WHORE-SON!!! I'M GONNA PLANT MY BOOT SO FAR UP YOUR HIND QUARTERS THAT YOUR DISGUSTING EXCUSE FOR A HEAD WILL POP RIGHT OFF OF YOUR SHOULDERS!!!!!!" Vincent draws his greataxe in one solid motion and takes off at the lich, hellbent on its destruction. "WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO PLAY WITH THE LIVES OF OTHERS?!!" He screams in fury as magnificant wings of the purest white burst violently from his back. He launches into the air as his armor and clothes change to the same white color as his wings and screams at the "man" with a hatred fueled by powers beyond even Vincent's own comprehension, "DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE!!!"
((I have a question. I know that you are only allowed one action a round. But if I pull from the party pool and use the rage amulet to attack twice do I still get to use an action as well? I personally believe you can but I don't entirely know.))

Lazarus chuckles lightly, and then thumps Vincent on the forehead. "Perhaps the palladin would be willing to give us a moment, to see what exactly we are going to attack?" He looks to Fury, who's luck has kept them well so far, and with a nod of his head to both him, and Perrian, "Shall we let our appointed scout check the condition of our enemies?"
((Well, the rage amulet is an item, and items don't count aginst your action/spell use, even thought it uses an AP. I'll let MOG give the final say, but that's what I've come to understand.))

Perrian nods. "We possibly should, but in this case it might not be the smartest thing to do to send Fury out. These guys, if we fail a scount, will attack with magic and possibly more. Regular damage is easily blocked, but magic from 3-4 people may inflict enough damage to cause about 20-30 damage. Mages, as you know Lazarus, can cause high amounts of damage. Maybe it would be best if Vincent moved in, or if we moved in as a party, unless Fury wants to remain as our scout?" Perrian sighed.

Unless the Item specifically states that it takes your Action or Spell use for the round, it does not cost you said Action or Spell opportunity. So yes, you can use the Rage Amulet and an Action if you have the AP to do so, as Nukunuku has done so many times in the past...

I'd have to say that by the inflammatory nature of Vincent's post, combat has been initiated. (unless you can come up with a REALLY good save in character.) Otherwise, once you have all made your combat posts, I will reveal the extended nature of the enemy combatants. For now, you simply know you are dealing with: Lich Creation 1 Creation 2 Creation 3 and, the Goblin Apprentice

She could potentially rectify the situation by delivering a patented slap to the back of Vincent's head and some imprompu groveling (nothing like having a Barua princess kneeling at your feet, with the Fire offered for study), but then again Djanni is fiercely proud, Vincent is her good friend, and frankly, the Lich smells bad.*
"You can go through his personal effects for information later, Lazarus. I would be willing to bet money that someone so proud as to extend their own life well beyond what is sanctioned by Nature has an extensive set of memoirs somewhere."

Lazarus bows low to the Lich, profering his hands, showing that he means no ill towards the undead. "I appologise for my Over-zealous companion. He comes from the sort that believe that the world is black and white, and since you are not of the same belief as him, you must be from the other side. I understand that there are many shades of gray amonst the world, and sincerly hope that we have not offended you, by his actions alone. As you can see, our party amounts to 5, and only one has shown disrespect toawrds you. I understand the need for beings for your craft, but wouldn't the Dragon-god Ru-Dolf be a much better subject? Just contemplate the total powers you can inter-mingle with your creatuers?"
Lazarus hopes this thought can give his team a few moments to assess the situation.
(wait, how loud did Djanni speak that comment? To Lazarus personally, or to the room? I'll have to edit, unless it's just to me. )

((Lazaus, Vincent is a zealot of sort when it comes to protecting those who cannot protect themselves. To see former humans used in sick experiments for this man's "research" would be something akin to him coming up and kicking you in the stick and berries with a steel boot and then laughing at you about it. It is an assault on Vincent's belief and nothing sort of death could keep Vincent from killing him now. Also, the following post is not meant to offend or insult. It's also in Vincent's roleplay. Besides, unless you mention it again Vincent isn't going to remember this.))
Vincent, within a mere second of ripping into the lich with a holy fury stops in mid flight. Turning with speed unlike that which you have seen before Lazarus suddenly finds himself dangling a few inches from the ground against a wall. "You ignorant fool! Your magical quest for power be damned! What gives him or anyone the right to play with a person's life. These things were once living beings. People like you an me and you want to protect the man that stole everything from them?!" Vincent eyes are wide and filled with smoldering fury as he releases Lazarus from his iron grip. "You better think real quick who the monster is in this room. Cause the only thing worse than a man who would toy with another's life is the one who protects that man..."
(If this suffices as a way to not initiate combat)
Vincent turns on a heel, facing the lich again with hate-filled eyes. Vincent's knuckles are white as he practically crushes the handle of the axe. Vincent studies the lich and his allies with a practiced eye. Perhaps a bit of discretion at first was really the best thing.
(If we're screwed anyway then I'll go with this)
Vincent seems to blur before he suddenly slams with tremendous force into the lich's goblin apprentice. The blow seems to pass through the goblin's torso with little effort as he brings the axe in a huge arc that slams into any of the unfortunate beings near him.
Vincent
Use: Whiplash (Creation 1, 2, 3 in that order for as long as my damage carries over)
Take one AP from party pool
Attack: Goblin Apprentice (12 damage)
Attack: Goblin Apprentice (12 damage)
Action: Smash (Goblin Apprentice)
Spell: Fighter's Counter Spell (Only if attacked with enough magic damage to kill him)
Dice: Defence
Hp: 55/55
Ap: 0
Mp: 7
((Vincent will go since he has the most hp and can now take a hit. Once again, Vincent's RP is the reason for this post. And you'll start to notice that not only will he act different in this form but he'll also have almost no memory of the time in that form...you'll see.))
