Haradhel nodded. "Good. Then we just have to put everything on the table ... though perhaps we should wait for the others so that it doesn't all get cold first."
She set the sliced bread on a plate and started cleaning up.
Elrohir waved back at Aliya and turned to the others again. "It looks like they're already on their way," he commented, grinning.

Aliya giggled. "She's tiny. I can't imagine anyone being so tiny!"
It was of course her first encounter with any of the Seconds, after all.
"But her actions, I think, could be affected by the people she's around," she commented. "If she's like both of your parents. My brother ... well, perhaps his shyness is inherited. I understand my aunt is ... was shy, as well as my grandmother - my father's mother and sister."
She had never met either of them.

"We were tiny!" Feng replied back, "Once.... a long time ago, but we were that tiny, if not tinier..."
She mused that these days the Seconds being born were a bit bigger than their older counterparts.
Ryu chuckled at Aliya's comment as he noted the others far off, probably headed to lunch as well, "Seconds are born diffenerly than what you're familiar with. They say that the day Lin arrived she got into a staring contest with Donovan."

Donovan looked and nodded with a smirk, "And they seem to be doing quite fine. Feng I think enjoys having someone like Aliya to talk to."
Or to be kept busy as he would like to think it, since Ryu looked just as relaxed at the moment.

Elrohir nodded. "And I don't know that I've ever seen Aliya so calm, either," he commented. "Normally she looks like she's going to explode ... it's actually kind of scary, seeing her like this."
He cocked his head thoughtfully.

Aliya was surprised. "Smaller than Lin?" she repeated incredulously. "That's insane! How is it even possible to be that small in the first place?"
She blinked. "Wait ... if you're not born the normal way, then just how are you born?"

"We came out of a vase," the twins replied in unison as if it was the most normal thing in the world.
Well, to be fair, for a Second it was the most normal thing in the world. They came from vases, that is where they developed through probalby magicial means until they were ready to be born, in which out they came as they were.
"Well, we had our separate vases," Feng pointed to Ryu, "His was deeper than mine with two handles, mine was more shallow."
"You can more or less tell what they're going to be like by their vase, physically I mean. For the most part, though there has been differences here and there," added Ryu.

Now that Elrohir had mentioned it, Aliay hadn't seemed to change much from the last time he had seen her. At least personality wise, and from the few times he saw her on his last trip she was a very active girl.
"Maybe the twins just told her something confusing," Donovan commented off handly.

"I suppose," Elrohir shrugged. "But still. Perhaps it's something to do with having other people her age to talk to. Amdir's her age, but he doesn't speak with her much, despite how much she tries to talk to him."
Of course, the story behind that little fact was just plain funny, and the only reason Elrohir didn't tease Aliya was because Haradhel had threatened him serious harm if he did - and he knew she meant it.

"A vase?" Aliya blinked. Then she giggled. "That's so weird. Can you show me what they look like? It would be interesting to see them!"
She paused. "Ah ... you probably didn't bring them with you, though, did you?" she murmured. "Extra baggage ... though it would be neat to have the thing you were born from with you all the time." She laughed.

"Maybe next time," Feng giggled, "It wouldn't have been that much of extra baggage for us, but there seems little point for us to carry around our vases, we hadn't needed them since the first tme we grew."
"Not to mention we couldn't fit into them anymore after we grew," Ryu added.

"Is that so?" Donovan raised a brow, "He didn't strike me as anti social."
And Aliya always seemed like the type of girl who could get people to talk. That or she wouldn't stop talking until you said something.

Elrohir chuckled. "He's not," he nodded with a mischievous grin. "Except around her. He's young, he's serious, he's one of the smartest people I know, and he's very social ... but for the life of him he cannot talk to the person he most desperately wants to." He laughed again.

Aliy'a eyes brightened at the words "next time."
"You'll be visiting often, then?" she asked eagerly. "That's great! Once you're good at riding we can go on all sorts of adventures!"
She giggled as they joined up with the other group, then looked to Elrohir and Donovan. "Lunch ready?"

"Well, we're not sure how often is often," Ryu admitted, "But we are probably going to be back here anyhow."
Since he doubted that Donovan would spend this much effort in having them trained if he wasn't going to take them along for a hunt or two. Though the thought made Ryu nervous, since he knew what it would need to be done, even though he agreed with it.
