Lore blinked, for he actually did not know the answer to that one.

"I suppose," he murmured, "I hadn't thought about that."

Since he wasn't use to being called uncle (though with time he was sure that would pass), but he was not yet married to Elnara, though he planned to.

Elnara blinked and looked at Lore, also taken by surprise by that little comment. Then she giggled and looked at Lore. "Well," she murmured, "the children call you Papa already, why not?"

Daeron stared. They weren't married? Well ... that was a bit of a surprise, it had been over a decade since Serenity had been there ... Suddenly he remembered the time difference.

Earendil nodded thoughtfully. "Well then, you're just going to have to keep coming back until you eventually make it to the festival or something," he grinned. Then he added, "If your father lets you, anyways."

She had a habit of not asking permission.

"True," Lore replied back sheepishly, "I shouldn't think too much on it."

Besides he knew he would want to marry her, he knew that he would, once he got the courage. Like anything, the first time was never easy.

Lin looked thoughtful, "It'll only be for a few days, I'm sure he'll let me!"

It was no different from going to the Second world to her, then again she hadn't seen the dangers of his world yet.

Elnara laughed, then sighed. "Are things ... really so bad with your father, Daeron?" she asked him worriedly.

She knew there was no help for it, but she couldn't help but feel guilty about it.

Daeron shrugged yet again. "We're all right," he replied. "Don't worry about me, I'm used to him. Earendil's really the only one you need to worry about. Tinuviel's just as eager to meet you, but it's pretty much impossible for Ada to get angry at her."

He held his hands out as if saying that it was out of his hands. "Happy homecoming," he grinned mirthlessly.

Earendil laughed. "Well, just remember to make sure you have permission."

He paused. "And do you happen to have permission to be here this time?"

"Of course!" Lin replied back, "Otherwise Nara-sissy wouldn't have let me come. Daddy said I could come as long as I practiced my katas, and my brush writing and I don't swiddle Elrohir into taking me up the mountain... whatever swiddle means."

She smiled bright and cheery up at him.

"I bugged Daddy until he taught me small katas, but he said if I didn't practice he would stop teaching me."

Elnara rolled her eyes and leaned back in her chair and sighed. "It's because she's the new aetheling," she murmured, inwardly disgusted with her brother. "She's untouchable in his eyes."

She massaged her forehead with her thumb and forefinger.

"If it's me, that's one thing, I can understand that," she murmured sadly, "but you shouldn't have to suffer because of it."

Daeron frowned and leaned forward.

"Don't blame yourself," he said, almost harshly. "Ada is the one who should be beating himself up, not you. You've gone through enough."

Earendil nodded. "Well then, perhaps we should practice your katas a bit," he suggested. "And trust me, Uncle Elrohir won't fall for bringing you back up the mountain again."

He knelt down close to her so that he could murmur in her ear.

"But if you ask Haradhel," he whispered, "she might take you voluntarily."

Lin giggled at that, as if it was a secret to be kept between them, which in a way it was. But it was just so neat that he was willing to tell her things like that, perhaps she would give it a try. She missed Daeron's uncle after all.

"Okay," she murmured as if to talk about the katas, "Practice is good, and then I can get better and do more things."

Elnara nodded slowly, looking thoughtful.

"If it's going to cause that much of a problem, my being back," she murmured, "perhaps we should just leave again."

She looked up at Lore, no trace of anger in her face, but only a heavy sadness. "I don't want to cause a fight."

"It's a bit too late for that," Daeron shook his head. "If you've met Tinuviel already, as Idhril mentioned that you have, Ada's going to be in a foul temper anyways, whether you're there or not. Mother will calm him down, it'll be all right."

He hoped. He actually had no idea how his father would react to Elnara's return, but he was, in this case, optimistic that his mother could handle his father.

Earendil nodded, then lifted Lin and brought her off the slippery surface to where it would be safe for her to practice her katas. "Here," he grinned. "Knock yourself out."

"Well..." Lore looked thoughtfully put his hand on Elnara's shoulder, "As long as a large fight does not break out, I suppose we all can give it a try?"

He suggested to Elnara, besides, from what she said, he would be surprised if there was not at least one fight during their stay here.

"Well I wouldn't, that sounds painful," Lin quipped back.

She probably had heard it from somewhere, probably Nina. It was the kind of double talk that the little Kirin would love to respond to. It was quite a pity that she was not here, she would have enjoyed it since Daeron was here too.

Lin position herself aware that she was being watched by someone other than her father. She was not the type to really show off like Celebor, it was... akward. Shy was not a word associated with Lin, but even Lin had things she was shy about. She tried not to think about it as she slowly went through the motions that were suppose to calm her down and teach her a bit of displince. For that's what Donovan thought she needed.
