Zabuza gave a small grunt and a nod. "Perhaps." He murmured. He soon finished his cup of tea, and set it on the nightstand. "Did you run into Takeshi?" he asked, tipping his head back and closing his eyes.
((I'm tempted to do a major plot shift, or something, and dump everyone in one big room >> ))

((you could, though there's still only three of us posting...))
"I saw him, but he was busy fighting that blond kid, the one who knows us for some reason." The one who said we're dead. "How come you never mentioned anything about having a son?" Haku suddenly blurted out, then turned away, face pink. "I-I'm sorry, it's not my place to ask."

One of Zabuza's eyes flitted open at Haku's sudden question, and he watched the boy turn away. He closed the eye again and shifted, swinging his legs off the side of the bed and resting his head in his hands for a moment while the room stopped spinning. "I didn't tell you, because I didn't think it relevant to you." he murmured. "Besides... I doubted he'd even grow up the way he did." he grunted. He sighed, lightly rubbing his eyes as if to will them to not make his head hurt whenever he had them open..

"You sound like you're interested in him. Are you thinking of...getting another tool, Zabuza-san?" Haku sat down in the chair again and looked at his feet. If I'm replaced, I have no where to go and no other reason to live. "He did seem like he was strong, even if his ego got in the way."

"Why the hell would I do that?" Zabuza's look almost came as a glare, but to a knowing Haku, it was a look of 'that was a stupid question!'. He then rested his head in his hands, his face facing the floor as he closed his eyes again with a small groan. A few things zipped through his mind, stirring up the headache again, though it didn't quite make it worse at all. Voices in the mist... a hazy conversation, as if someone had shoved cotton into the ears of his minds' eye(how does that work? o.O ). They didn't make much sense, so he didn't pay them too much mind.

((it sounds like something the Egyptians would do in the process of mummification XD))
Haku gave a shrug. "If he would be more useful to you and your goals, it would make sense, wouldn't it?" He is interested, even if it is just a little. "If he's anything like you, he could be a big asset. I haven't been of much help to you lately in helping you reach those goals."

"And you think that kid is going to be any better then you?" Zabuza didn't even look up. "Think of this, Haku. You have a rare bloodline. He does not. You have been with me for many years now- trained, and am being trained to your prime to serve me your best. He, has not." The older male massaged his temples.

Haku gave a nod. "You are right. Forgive me for not thinking straight." his eyes stayed on the floor for another moment before he looked up. "When you saw him earlier...he challenged you, didn't he? And that is why he now fights the blond since he can't fight you."
((replies may be slow. I just got into D.Gray Man the other day and have been watching & reading it mrgreen ))

Zabuza looked up to Haku, this time. "Yeah." he said with a grunt. "He challenged me for when we get out of here... and when he touched you." the older male removed his hands from his face and rested them on his knees. "He's annoying."

Haku giggled. "It's not surprising that you two would clash since you seem to be a lot alike. He seems to have taken more after you than just your appearance, Zabuza-san. He has a love for battle just like you."

Zabuza rolled his eyes lightly at Haku's giggle. "Honestly, I don't know how he could get that from me." he grunted. "I left when he was only a few months old." A hand moved up to rub the space between his eyes, a bit. "I highly doubt he grew up learning how to be bloodthirsty."

"It's probably in his blood and I'm assuming he's from Mist. That would only increase the desire to battle, the village is famous for creating monsters. You yourself are the Devil of the Hidden Mist. While I have not heard of him, he may have a similar reputation." Now that he was no longer worried about being replaced, Haku got up from the chair and moved closer to the bed. "When you two fight, he may be a challenge for you, Zabuza-san. Most of the people we run into are too weak to be anything more than an annoyance to you."

"I realize that." Zabuza murmured, watching Haku draw closer. "He said he was an assasin." he then grunted, then sighed. Quite frankly, he didn't want to have to deal with the brat in any way. "You think I should give him what he wants, and actually take his challenge? Who knows if he'd be pleased after it, or not."

"You've always done what you wanted, not what anyone else wanted. I just don't think he's the type who'd let you walk away with no trouble." I'm just wondering if it comes to it, would you really kill him? He is your son, Zabuza-san, even if you haven't seen him since he was a baby.

Zabuza gave a minor groan of irritation. Haku was right. Even if he didn't want to fight the brat, he'd have to otherwise he wouldn't be left alone. Still... he killed most of his villages' gennin alone, and that was when he was a kid. What did Takeshi have under his belt to prove his worth? A partial, toothy, smirk appeared on Zabuza's lips, and was visible since he'd removed the facewraps to drink the tea. It was one of his more bloodthirsty looks, though there was still hints of irritation at what would have to happen, in his expression. "We'll just have to make sure he can't stop us from walking away."
