The endless joys of in-law relationships... My sisters married decent guys, but my brothers married girls I can't stand... *lone fist pump for singleness*

Heh. I am an only kid . . . and my wife is the second youngest of 12. So yeah, every family reunion is a bit of an eye-opener . . . . eek

Wow, families that large are fairly uncommon, even back in your in-laws time.

I hear you. My dad and I are the less social members of a large family, so we often retreat somewhere to chat at times like this. Having been a fan of anime for a while, you may be interested that the original Tenchi Muyo got re-released. *gluggles the snowman in his avi's snowglobe*

Yeah, in those kinds of situations, my DS is my best friend. 3nodding
heheheh, I was more a fan of the Universe series, which I recently picked up on DVD. Such a joy to get it for $30! that . . . and the second half of Geass! Man, I love Geass.

Yes, video games are another great retreat to take advantage of.
I have Universe as well. Funimation is proving themselves now especially, b/c they could become evil now that they lack any serious competition. I have some issues w/ stuff Geass did in the 2nd season (mostly regarding the ending), but it was good overall.

I found the second season less endearing than he first. It was less about outwitting the enemy, and more about the latest toy on the battlefield. That said, I actually liked the last episode. It made sense and was good . . . it let Lelouche remake the world into a better place by sacrificing himself. Everybody that lived to that point in the show had a better life because of him.

Yeah, it had falling off similar to Death Note. Both were so intellectual until their halfway points...
While I recognize the sacrifice for the greater good, falling in a bloody pile on top of his sister didn't seem right poetically. She was who he was doing this all for, her only wish was to live with him peacefully, and yet he scars her for life with that.

On one hand, that shows his plan's fatal flaw . . . . on the other, that allowed him to give his final moment to his sister, and she finally knew all he had done. She understood why he was so evil, allowing her to forgive him and say she loved him so much in that final moment.

Only truthful, my old friend. I think the world of you . . . and have for a long time.
Not much in the way of anime, new ones anyway. Mostly, I've just been sticking to my usual stuff. I did try Eureka 7 and Samurai 7 as well as Cassern Sins all thanks to Toonami- but none really grabbed me. I gave em a decent go, but meh.
