Piper's eyes lit somewhat up. Holy cow, he was hoarding that much away from her?! Where the hell did he get all of that anyway? "Oh dear, isn't that sweet of you." And she pet the horse again, taking the bag in hand. And then she grabbed a nearbye empty bag, halfing the cinnamon between the two. She would hide this stuff all over the house...and that of course would keep him from holding out on her. "I'll make sure you get something too sweetheart." Well this worked, but also it really was a nice little moment of bonding with Nightmare...and she did intend to make Malik spend some therapy time with the horse. A look to Serino, holding out the bag to him. "Why don't you go hide these for the moment for me?" Which of course he did...because that would make Nightmare happy too. And she handed the original bag back to Nightmare."You best put that back, we don't want Malik getting in on our secrets, do we?"
He shrugged lightly. "One of a kind you may be, but I'm an elf...I've seen quite the impossible things become possible with time's passage. The world is indeed a wonderous place." Kieran could only laugh at his own teasing. "Quite difficult at times. Fianna and I both have kingdoms to rule over...just so happens that those kingdoms are on opposite ends of the plane. So...marriage isn't the easiest thing to do...formally anyway. We already long bad enough across the distances and our times together are few and far between these years. Though we don't need the formailties, we have our bonds...and that suffices." Then a moment of a thoughtful look. "And we'll have Piper."

Nightmare took the bag given, adn faded to shadow and came back none to the worse. and she better get something out of this. Malik better come pay some attention and Serino better start showing her more affection. but she was pleased with Piper at teh moment, past transgressions forgiven.
"Long tips please. I want the edges of my wings, just the bottom. a dipped in blood look, if you will."
Onyx spread his wings out for her to have better access to them, and glanced over his shoulder, and grinned lightly.
"what do you make your earrings out of? my father had his done in brass."
"about how long a distance woudl you say? and I can handle that. as for Warren. he might want her for the same reason I wanted your mother. power, plain and simple. a conduit is a direct link to teh Infernal planes. control her, you can harness a great deal of power. Though why Warren woudl want it..that's beyond me."
Back to Roarke.
"Can these also be set to not trigger when certian pople come through?"
Turning aroudn toe see his new golem guardians, and grinning lightly. elivsh yuan-ti. what a nice touch.
"Those built themselves nicely. and they should be quite effective."

She was still loving all over the horse. Nightmare rarely let Piper pet her and sometimes alomst seemed to hold a grudge against the surface elf. Maybe she was like Serino and didn't like someone else taking affection from her. Seemed reasonable. "Don't worry Ramoth, I'll make sure you get what you want. You're gonna have a Zephmare or two to take care of, so we have to take care of you now don't we?" Another run of her hand through that fiery mane. Besides, they needed to bond a little seeing as Malik had given Piper leeway over the little Zephmare side of business and the like....she didn't need Nightmare biting at her for something or other. And she scratched between Nightmare's ears, looking to Nerian then back to her. "And I promise that Nerian will wise up...if not well you can just show him like you did Serino, now can't you girl?" A small laugh at that before she stepped back and put a finger to her lips. "Sh, you don't tell Malik about the cinnamon and I won't tell him how I'll be spoiling you day in and out. You get some rest now...I know how stressful those men can be." And she turned from the horse, looking to Nerian again. "Really Nerian I mean it, don't upset her...she can't hurt you. Serino is just trying to scare you...you know he can be a bully sometimes." And a pat to his ears as well as Serino's as the Zephyr made an apperance again. "All of you play nice now." Now...to check on the menfolk to see if they were behaving.

"Indeed. Indeed they can, although there powers are soemwhat waisted if you specifie it for one such person." he shrugged. "You need soemtihng that's been on their person for a while, so that the stones can pick up thier energy signature." He tapped a finger to his chin a moment. "The heat shield acn be set anywhere from ten to a hundred feet."
Moonstone scratched nervously his neck a moment. "It doesn't sound like Warren tohugh. He didn't really seem all the interested in power when we met him."
The man in the thick glasses and white lab coat held up another vial. This one was made out of stone, it was cold to the touch and greyish and dull looking. He held agains't Bode's stomach, careful to not anctually touch the metal to her void. Ooze, black and viscouse, seepied from the hole and over the lip of the vial, slowly filling it. Bode was crying, her tears mixing with the sludge.
Warren hung limp, barley breathing, not understanding what was going on, on the wall. A needle hovered around his chest, poking at his skin, coming close as if in threat.
The man in the glasses was speaking. "See now? If we cooperate, then nothing happens to your wizard freind there. All we need to do is fill these bottles, and as long as you don't ask us to stop, or try to run away, we won't hurt him." It was an aweful tihng to do to a child, but this man cared only about his work. Bde stayed quiete, whimpering.
The man corked the bottle when it was full, leaving Bode to sit in a poool of her own bad luck.
The needle jabbed anyway.

"Well. two of them I want in certain areas. but I don't want to have to shut them down to get to those areas. hences the question. in fact, considering your fear disc, I woudln't mind turning one of these into a triggered trap. and how many of these do I have, three correct? the third one..where to put that. this hundred feet distance. is that a straight shot or a circumferal one?"
Walking back into the fortress, patting the two ogres that stood guard again after doing as told.
"Good fellas. Now then. the last fear disc I need at a certain vault. one fire heart I want down there as well. and one in my room in an apparent secret panel two annoyign imps dug in there."

"Circumferal. Although it will constrain to a hallway two if you want it to. And of course, smaller spaces, such as the ones between outside wall and inner." He winked. "I'ms are resorful though. It might keep them away, it might not."
Walking back inside, he bent and patted one of the coq-dragons on the head. "What are you going to name them? Might be a good idea to name your golems to. Makes it easier to keep track of. Also easier to say in converstaion."
"Lets see, what do we have left....the light webs. And the ships, but it will take some time to make and man them."

Kieran blinked, attention turned from his musing and Raziel's question a moment as he was jabbed in the shouler, turning to look at his daughter who was doing the jabbing. "Yes dear?"
"Is he behaving himself? Don't lie to me now."
"Does asking logical questions about the workings of things and the like count as no behaving? Because if so, then yes. If not, then no." A small and a laugh at her as she crossed her arms and he laced an arm around her shoulders, taking to walking with her and Raziel back into the fortress in tow of the others. "If anything counts for anything...he hasn't yelled or gotten that annoyed sneer he gets."
"You noticed that?"
"I notice a lot. Like how you keep glancing at the ground. You know I've always noticed the little things the greatest."
"You always find the needle in the haystack on first look. But have you been behaving as well?"
Another laugh. "I've been behaving, merely regaling little Raziel here with tales of Andal and your mother. The simple things in life. And of course turn about is fair play...what have you gotten yourself into?"
"Oh nothing. I was just sympathzing with Nightmare."
"Sure you were."

"Wonderful. then we'll put the fear disc on one heart down by the vault. the other in teh wall for those damned imps to run into. and the lightwebs. those were the items that ate magical and non magical equipment, correct? I think we'll put one of those by that vault too. and one at teh door to teh necromancer study. leave anyone daring to venture there as ill equipped as possible. come to think of necromancy. that skeletal pet of mine is still standing guard by the safest port near here. that might be another place to spring a trap like that..but too far away probably. perhaps that last one we can put at teh back someplace. how many of those webs do I have, and we have just those last two hearts or more?"
Malik hand one arm across his chest, the other on supported at it while he rubbed his chin in thought.
"The scorpions are simple to name, searsting and skorpkis. to of the more deadly norrathian breeds. the skorpkis actually get about that large. the yuan-ti..Sathir and Ssra. serpentine names should fit them well. I'll let Piper name the dragons."

"Three light webs and two heat shields. Yes, the light web is the magnifiying glass. Intruders the anthill. I'm rather fond of that one. Act now, ask questions later type of thing. And if it kills everybody, then there won't be anybody left to ask questions." He chuckled."
"Good good, all very good. The names I mean." The rest of the stones floated around him. "I can leave these here with you, or help install them if you like. Nothing big aobut it, just kind of...place and activate."
"Bonding with the nightmare? Ooo, was it difficult?"
"I'm behaving. Why didn't you ask me?" He pouted, if hokingly. "I can get into trouble too." He held up a slightly singed wing as proof.

Piper laughed, reaching a hand up to pat at Raziel gently. "I'm sorry. It's those angel wings, they're fooling me. And that's not your trouble that's Malik getting into trouble." A little tilt of her head as she dropped her hand, leaning against her father some but her eyes were turned to Raziel. "No, it wasn't difficult. After all, we're both female and it's easy to find common ground between us. We have an understanding."
Kieran gave a chuckle as well, pulling them both to a stop. They were about ten feet from Malik and Roarke. He tilted his head in though, hair swaying in front of his eyes some. "As I said, shoulder angel." And his eyes turned back to his daughter, grasping her shoulders in hsi hands. "I'm going to be leaving here soon to fetch your mother. Within a day or two. Are you sure about this? You let me do this and the painfully constructed walls fall down."
Her serious look mimiced his own. "I'm sure. Malik wants to know her...and I miss her. And I have some things to apologize for...don't I?"
He smiled, lifting a hand to brush red and silver away from blue and green, laying his hand to his daughter's cheek. "She'll understand Pip. She'll understand, she'll forgive...and she'll learn."
"I'm just...I know how's she's going to look at this all...the Underdark, Malik..."
"I won't let her. Your mother saw past her own traditions and all that she learned for me...she can do it for you as well."

"then how can I trigged the heatshield as a trap. that vault as a great deal of magical items and the like..and I was thinking to have the heat shield dromant, until the pass a cetain point. that way the run into teh fear shield, turn tail and incinerate themselves on teh way back. the light webs..how can I set it so that people that I choose can come and go through thier areas unaffected. really just myself and about six others, the people who work beyond the place I was thinking to put one. and maybe put one in the armory. that way anyone steal form there, if they make it, they won't make it out with anything. but I don't want it hurting gladitors or tremor or broog either."
A little wave to Piper, he was being good.
"the last web should be set up in teh back for added defense there. just a fear shield back there. well..the imps will probably work aroudn a heat shield in that passage, so might was well put the one for there back in the back as well."

Roarke liftend an eyebrow. "So...you'd rather kill anybody that happens to lose their way?" He shrugged. "All right then. Simply turhn the stone ninty degress from where you first place it, and it will only work on the way back. As for specaill access, the best way is to simply have a stone circle somewhere isnide your fortress. Those who need to pas by the shields step into the cirlce, and their energy signatures will be remebered and they will be allowed to move freely.
He blushed a bit. "Awe, I'm not an angel." Bashful? just a little bit. But he perked up too. "Only e few says1 Oh I am so excited! I get to see Andal! And more surface elves!" Saying he was excited was a bit of an understatment.

A look up to Raziel again. "Oh just learn to take the compliment." But his excitment was endearing really, he was so happy to be going to Andal and no doubt, Kieran would cater to that excitment. But she sighed at thoughts of that place, leaning against her father and resting her head against his chest. Her eyes did look to Malik however, giving him a smile and a little wave back. He was half behaving really. But she would let him slid. But she did catch the part of naming dragons. Seems he wanted her to play in this too...so, dragon names.
Kieran laughed slightly, sliding one arm to hold around her shoulder, letting his hand pet at her hair some. It felt good to hold his daughter again after years of her not being around. "Surface elves of a few kinds, animals, nature, Zephyrs, Nightmare even Zephmares. Clear blue waters and open skies." Another chuckle. "Lots of room to fly around too."

"Only three people should ever be down there. me, piper, and kieran. that area is offlimits to everyone else. I don't want an overzealous slave or a greedy cleric or necromancer taking anything out of there even if they get past the three illusion traps. so use the stone circles for the webs and the heat shields, or only the shields? and if the circles is broken, no one gets past safe, correct?"
A bit of thought.
"One heat shiled in the back center courtyard, that should cover mos of that area. one of the lightwebs neat the back kitchen area, which is really the only access point from there. a heat shield at the back hallway then by the vauly. one webbing a bit past the hidden entry to the necromancer laboratory, and one near the armory. that woudl do it on those. and one of those ships I'm loaning out a Mr. O'konnor, if I remember right. cattle rancher, supplies teh beef for her, and at least Deepwater. it will be nice to have a handle on teh food supply, won't it."

"Stone circle willwork for all together, or each sepretly. It's all up to you." He winked. "I designed these to be very accomodating. Well...okay I modified them to be accomodating. Twas not I who actually came up with the things. So yes, if it's broken, no one is safe."
"O'Konner Farms? That place supplies most of this side of Labyrnith with meat. He has some powerful family."
Raziel blushed and lowered his head a bit. "Sorry." He moved around Keiran's shoulders to accomodating the leaning and bonding that was going on, it was after all, part of his job to accomodate his master. No need to worry about him at all. Hair, shoulders, clothing, he just climed whatever like a jungle gym. "I hope my wings are healed by then."
