Pyroth shook his head "You are a cunning lady."

He listened intently as Bobby spoke, honestly feeling for her. "If it's any consolation at all, which I know it probbly isn't, if Trevor is even half the man you speak of him as, your kids could not be in better hands." he gave her a reassuring smile "And when it comes to families, if you realise now how much they meant to you, there is no reason why in your abscence they shouldn't know how much you meant to them."

He shrugged slightly, ignoring the irritating pain. "Sometimes things like that are so implicit they never have to be said."

He tried to lighten the mood again "Personally I can't wait to see what the pig has to offer, misery loves company. We can go hunt and root in the undergrowth together." He chuckled, as always making light of facts made them easier to swallow.

Bobby snickered, "Didn't you hear? I'm a pig!" She stuck out her tongue and touched her nose with it.

The woman smiled, "Yeah, he was great. It couldn't have been easy for him; I was gone... a lot." She wanted to add 'for different reason' but thought that was still her own secret that didn't need to be mentioned. "He didn't deserve to have a woman like me," the pig shook her head, "of course... he did get me pregnant at the age of 17... But I was always able to overlook that minor detail...."

Bobby rolled her eyes, although the invitation was an intriguing one, "Oh yes, a regular day at the park, I'd say!" She giggled.

Reaching in her pack, Bobby pulled out one of the bottles of pain reliever and set it on the table with a rattling clang. "Now, I don't know how much use these might be given how far you are.... but they should be able to help. I'd imagine they'd change the pain relievers for the special needs of this Island."

"Sounds like you were pretty even if you asked me, besides you were a police officer, I imagine work would take up a lot of your time." he shrugged "Better than I treated Khan. I just showed up when I felt like, crashed at his place and left without telling him where I was going. He's probably still wondering when I'll show up next." he smirked, he'd be waiting a very long time indeed.

He looked interested at the pain reliever as it was produced, it looked very appealing indeed. Anything that would ease the sheer throbbing of the gash in his shoulder was welcome.

"Anything will do, seriously, this hurts like hell." he held his paws a distance apart "It's only like, this side but it's really deep. Like a puncture wound rather than a shallow scratch." he cringed just thinking about it "At least I got it stitched up and cleaned, I dread to think how painful it'd be if I just left it."

He reached for one of the bottles, taking a look at the label.

"You are a godsend Bobby, these look like strong ones."

"Well, I wasn't exactly nice to him when I broke the news..." Bobby grinned at the memory of her, at 17, yelling and screaming at Trevor calling him many names. Her language had been very colorful in that conversation as well. "At least you showed up, and he knew at least what you looked like. Too many children in the City live without even seeing one of their parents. They tend to get very...." The woman paused, "I cannot think of the word, but not any warm, fuzzy feelings, let me tell you!. I'm sure one day he'll figure something out. Must be a smart, ahh... boy..." So, so wasn't sure if Khan was grown or not.

"Pain means you're still alive, at least," the woman kind of half-smiled again. Sure, it hurts, but at least he's feeling something? "Sadly, I cannot take credit for it. That's one of the bottles from when I got some from... what's her name? Delia, the town hall manager or something? Anyway, I don't go anywhere without my little kit... never know when you might need something."

Bobby leaned forward. Pyroth's bandaged shoulder was definitely an enigma for her. Motioning to it, the woman opened her hands questioningly, "Would you mind if I took a look?"

Pyroth grinned, picking up on a teensy bit of misunderstanding, if Khan had been his son he probably would have jumped off a bridge already "Nah, Khan wasn't family, just a..close personal friend and co-worker." he shook his head "Unfortunately I was one of those parents who didn't get to see their family, Val, my son had a lunatic for a mother. She called me a bad influence and wouldn't let me near. I couldn't exactly take her to court for..reasons." he frowned, bristling slightly. "Some things you can't change, I guess."

But whatever. He shrugged it off, he'd done all his getting angry for that a long time ago.

"Yeah, anything is better than being out of it all the way. Can't really feel my fingers on this hand though." he gestured at his left paw "Which is worrying me." He had met Delia a few times before, she had helped him stitch up his arm actually.

"See it? Sure, maybe you can help me decide what it is." Reaching up he carefully, oh so carefully removed the bandages that covered the wound, cringing as he did so, wow, it really did hurt when it want to. When it was uncovered, it was obvious that the wound had been big, it was a huge puncture wound, the depth pretty much unguessable since at the moment it was held fast by a neat row of stitches.

"Wish I know how I got it, I'd tear the b*****d a new one."

Bobby almost fell back from humor, "A friend, eh.... I got that one wrong, yup! I hope Khan wasn't too insulted by that assumption," the woman winked. "Nah, I don't think you are that bad of an influence. Despite what you may have done, your manners are at least in the right place." She shrugged, he could take that any way he wanted.

The pig frowned, time to get to work. The fact that Pyroth could hardly feel his fingers with the corresponding shoulder worried her. She hoped that he didn't have any severed nerves or muscles. Either would be hard to heal, and have lasting effects. "I don't like that either. Is it just your fingers, or the whole arm?

Bobby stood up, to move around the table and next to Pyroth. It would do no good to try anything from across the table. That, and she could inspect it better if she was nearby. The woman noted the pain Pyroth was in. Unfortunately, she didn't know what might help better. With a kind of sheepish smile, the woman sighed, "Sorry I don't have any morphine on me. That would help a lot!"

She looked at the wound. It looked deep, like an impaling of some kind. Unless he ran hard into a tree branch, Bobby assumed it was inflicted by someone else... or something. The woman looked around it, and towards both sides, "Were there punctures on both sides or just the one?"

Looking over at him, the woman frowned, "You said you woke up in the woods? Was there anyone, or anything else, around you?"

Pyroth gave her a grateful smirk, often wondering if she knew a bit more than he gave her credit for. "He'd probably be flattered, knowing him."

"Mainly my fingers on this side" he gestured to the left "I mean I could poke them and not notice at the moment. My arm is okay though." he tried not to look at the wound, doing so just made him cringe. He was no stranger to injuries on other people, and in some cases himself, just never mystery ones.

He shifted slighty in his chair to make it easier for Bobby to see, giving her a wry grin. "I probably have something that would help take my mind off it up at the duplex anyway."

He watched he examine the injury with interest, he wondered what she would think of it. He answered her as honestly as he could. "Just the one side I think though god knows it feels like it goes deep." Looking momentarily thoughtful he shook his head "No, nothing other than a considerable amount of blood." he didn't mention his keen nose had picked out more than one kind though.

Bobby looked at Pyroth with what looked like a disapproving 'evil eye', thought it was good-natured. "Whatever it is, I am not sure I want to know what would take your mind off this..." she wasn't talking about his smokes either.

The woman was used to nasty injuries. While she didn't work with homicide, that didn't mean she never saw horrible scenes. Add to that vehicle accidents, beatings, and the like... it all added up to after 10 years a fairly strong stomach. "I think maybe something was affected. I am not a forensics person, so I don't know what kind of effects might be caused by a wound in the shoulder. It looks like it you were patched up nicely, fur and all."

It was hard to resist, so Bobby tried to get an idea just by looking about the status of any inflamation or discoloring. With a kind of snort, "Did you get any antibiotics or something to prevent infection? It doesn't sound like you were in a very sterile environment..."

"Well," Bobby muttered while still really looking at the wound, "I think as long as you don't lose anymore blood, you should survive this. With how skinny you claim to be, I don't think your body can take a major blood loss." She moved so she was facing him. She took his left paw and almost smirked, "No wonder you cannot feel your fingers, you've a paw now!"

Gently, Bobby pressed his paw pads and muscles around. "Tell me when you feel something," she worked her way up his arm until he said stop.

"Did you have any more blood than just your own?" Bobby said, watching his face for any hint of pain or feeling as she worked. "I cannot imagine you would passively take such a beating."

Pyroth merely gave her a grin for her dissaproving glance, flicking his tail.

He nodded "I was worried about that myself, but as it was I really just wanted it patched up and to get the hell out of there, I mean the village has pretty good medical supplies on site, I basically got it wrapped up and out of there." he frowned "Didn't want anyone carting me up to the lab."

Shaking his head he said dismissively "Nah, didn't get any antibiotics, that's something I was hoping to do when I get time, I was in a bit of a rush earlier, didn't like the idea of getting the blame for whatever was going down. If my arm falls off, it falls off."

He nodded "Yeah that was what scared me shitless, for ages after I woke up I kept feeling like I was going to pass out, still feel a bit light headed but not as bad as I did. And I am a bit skinny I suppose, last I checked I weighed something like 107 pounds?" he shrugged, he wasn't a doctor, didn't know nor care about healthy weights. He chuckled as she pointed out his paw "I noticed. I still call those paw-toe things fingers though, used to be able to feel them in that hand, not so much anymore." He concentrated on following Bobby's path up his arm until he was sure he could feel it "There." he said at a spot a little ways above his wrist.

Not really sure what to say to Bobby about the blood, he decided to just tell her the truth, he trusted her anyway. "Yeah. I mean, I had bled all over the place but I can smell the difference in blood, there was pig there and..well, human. Not mine." he frowned. "I had blood in my mouth too, wasn't sure what kind it was though."
PostPosted: Wed May 10, 2006 6:25 am

"It looks like you might be out of the woods then," Bobby looked him over, "at least when it comes to blood lose. If you get too light-headed, though, I might suggest eating some candy or chocolate. For the lost feeling, I am not really sure. That it starts around a little above your wrist is kind of confusing to me, especially since I cannot poke around to find the depths. I don't dare do that, mind you."

The woman went to her bag and grabbed new bandages to wrap his shoulder, complimentary from when she had to bandage her hands. "If you get another bad would and I feel you're acting weird from blood loss, I'll cart you to the labs myselfs. I've never lost anyone in my care, and it's not about to start now just because I am on some God-forsaken Island!"

The shoulder re-wrapped, Bobby looked at Pyroth. "Pig and human? If I didn't know any better, I would say you described me... but I don't have any wounds on me, and everything I remember I was in my duplez; safe and sound, as it were." The pig sat back and eyed the coyote, the gaze was not suspicious or even condemning. She shook her head in a confused type of amazement, "That is strange. Do you know if there are any pigs or other part-human-pigs running around this Island?"

Pyroth nodded, despite the fact that he was always edgy around chocolate, it was horrifyingly fattening. Still, it would be better than dying or something. He made note to pick some up before he went back to his duplex anyway. "I'll take some with me in case." he eyed his paw "I hope it's only temporary shock or something."

It wasn't often that Pyroth approved of being slightly reliant on someone else, he could be fiercely independent these days and had been the same as a human, his age giving him more reason to be self-reliant. Still, Bobby didn't bother his pride in the least, there was something more amusing about her chiding than offensive. He grinned. "Don't worry, If I have any problems I'll be sure to come to you nurse Bobby." he chuckled, no harm meant in his tone.

"But yeah, a bit of pig blood and a bit of human. You were actually the first person I worried about then I realised they were pretty seperate, it must have been one of the island's wild pigs I got, they are around I see them all the time." he nodded, closing his eyes, wracking his brain for the memories.

"All I can remember is.." he frowned "Running like crazy, pig noises, thunder and lightning so loud it made my ears ring and someone..running. Yeah, running like hell." he blinked, opening his eyes "So there must have been a storm. Why was I out in it?" he looked angrily at the table "When your memory starts failing on you.." he sighed "I want to remember more than just that, who was it running?."

Bobby's eyes twinkled. She went to her bag and pulled out a hershey's chocolate bar, "I told you I liked to be prepared. I don't know if anyone on this Island is a diabetic and might go into a seizure or something." With a laugh, the woman held up the bag, "It's the 'Bobby Bag of Wonders', you never know what you will find in it!"

"But still stop by somewhere and get some antibiotics. Likely you're arm won't fall off, but I wouldn't want an infection spreading. Things would get much worse, especially if it go to your heart..." She didn't want to sound morbid, but that was one thing Pyroth could do for himself, right? "Don't make me box your ear and drag you there!" the woman stuck her tongue out.

'Nurse Bobby', eh? She wasn't so sure about that, "Trust me, you wouldn't want me to be a nurse, I'd probably hurt someone..." Bobby was joking, of course.

"Nope, not me!" The woman smiled before her brain went to the mystery. "Everything about your night is just strange, isn't it? Is it possible you were dreaming the other inhabitants of your memory and just sleep-walking? I wish I could help, but I don't know hypnosis or of any memory-enhancing drugs..."

Pyroth cackled "Seriously, is there anything you don't carry around with you? Must be one of those "I'll carry a length of rope in case I need to rescue a stricken mountain climber people." he grinned "Not that I'm ungrateful, far from it, I'll be recommending everyone get a Bobby of their own in case of emergencies."

He didn't like the sound of the heart thing, an arm he could live without, life, he couldn't. "Antibiotics it is then, I don't fancy dying after going through all these transformations." he shrugged and feigned cowering, his ears back "Oh don't worry, I'll go straight there."

"You'd be a scary nurse, I tell you. Probably a better matron than anything else. You'd probably get the patients to get better just with a few sharp words." he wagged his tail slightly, amused by the mental image.

"But yeah, It might just have been dreaming, my dreams have been getting really weird lately, maybe I did just end up sleep walking. Think I left my door open too, but then again I always do." he waved a paw "Was a bit out of it on thursday night with alcohol and such, maybe I just stumbled outside?"
PostPosted: Wed May 10, 2006 7:17 am

Bobby looked at Pyroth seriously, "Do you think there would be any 'stricken mountain climber people' here?" Her face cleared up as the woman laughed, "Yes, call 1-800-Get-me-out now and with just three easy payments of forty-nine, ninety-nine... you could have your very own Bobby within 48 hours!"

"Hey!" Bobby raised a threatening fist, "You callin me fat?" The question was entirely random. She shrugged witha smile, "Well, I am now, I guess..." The woman nodded, "I can honestly say my children never took a sick-day from school when I was home. They could get away with it with their father, though... and they knew it. I figured they'd rather risk school than me." She winked.

"It's possible," the pig nodded. "Actually, I wouldn't take much of anything around here too seriously unless you were fully conscious, sober, and not high. So, that's probably only about one-fifth of the time? And who knows, even then it could just be a staged experiment."

"You never know when a stricken mountain climber will show up, you never know anything here on this island." He raised a brow and playfully feigned looking for a notepad "Better take that number down, it's a bargain."

He looked innocent "Of couse not, I value my life, I'd never call you fat. Besides, it's not like appearances count for anything any more." grinning he noted "Don't even think you saw me when I looked normal. Not that you missed much, I just think it's amusing." As for kids, he remembered his own mother in that respect, she was the undisputed ruler of the house. "Most kids are the same, I know I was, my father was a pushover, she was an iron bar with human features. " he probably would have traded his mother in for a mother like Bobby. The two hadn't gotten along.

"Hey!" Pyroth said in mock outrage "I'm not drunk or high a fifth of the time!" he sat back in his chair "More like a quarter of the time. What can I say, I'm on a permanent vacation, may as well treat it as such."
