Evilweirdo 0 APH-Fem Canada-APH Evilweirdo 0 APH-Fem Canada-APH Dark Cloud 2 or Dark Chronicle was highly praised by critics and won several awards. If you do get a chance, play it. Sounds good. Wait... What about Dark Cloud 1? Dark Cloud is great, too. However, out of preference, I like the second one. Even so, I'd go for the first one first. Firstity first first... FIRST LOL. I don't know. Anyway, are they connected in any way? They take place on the same world, but from my knowledge on it, the two games take place in different times. There are elements of time travel in both games (more so in 2 as it is one of the main themes of the game) as well as elements that carry over from the first one.

Still, I think I'll try the first one first.

Such things like items from previous games appear, but the stories are considered stand-alone; quite like the Final Fantasy games. Although, there are several theories about the interconnection of the two stories as well as other elements.

Forewarned is forearmed: there's a character in DC named Goro. He's slow, his attacks are really short-range, and he's just plain hard to use. And there are levels where you HAVE to use him, you cannot use anyone else. Load up on bombs. I promise you that will make the suffering lots less. (; But other than Goro, DC1 is a fine game. DC2 is basically DC1 only kicked up about ten notches. (:

Come on! That is a very good question. And it reminds me, as I was going to ask anyway -- I have JUST finished Xillia -- as of 10 minutes ago, woohoo! That game is sooooo awesome .... Now to play Milla's side! Ehehe. Probably slower than at the breakneck pace we played through Jude's ... But seriously -- as you all are Tales fans here, what would be the next Tales game that you recommend I try out? Symphonia? Graces? Abyss? Something else?

They take place in different worlds [Why don't humans ever look up?] @Evil: make sure to train all of the playable characters in Dark Cloud; you'll regret it if you don't...

I thought that they were in the same world because they share the same moons and the reoccurrence of the Atlamillia.

If you have a XBOX 360, then Tales of Vesperia is also really fun to play. ToS: Dawn of the New World is . . . awkward, to put it bluntly. However, there are ones that don't get the proper limelight they deserve. If you can look up translated playthroughs of Destiny 2, Rebirth or Innocence, they are also good stories for you to enjoy. Even though Tales of Zestiria will be coming out around next year, I'm hoping to get a PS Vita so that I can play Tales of Hearts R when it gets localized. If it does really well abroad, then we might get a localization of Tales of Innocence R! Kawaii, Luca~<3

So it sounds like I can play all of them, pretty much. Did any come out for the PSP? I don't recall seeing any. (Not inclined to get a Vita, not really enough cool games for me on it. ) Cool, thanks!

Uh, Shade . . . in both Dark Cloud and Dark Cloud 2, both of the moons were the same size (the Moon where the Moon People lived was bigger than the diminutive Blue Moon) and had the same respective colours.

Yes, there is a PSP game out here in the US, which I have. It's called Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology and it takes characters from all of the Tales games at the time and throws them into a new standalone story completely seperated from each character's respective game story. Like, they've lived in the world of Radiant Mythology all their lives and the events of their respective games don't exist. It's really cool though to see all the characters from the different games interacting and such. It's also way cool to play as them as well! Especially the older characters. owo But yeah, Radiant Mythology is a series though the first one is the only one I know to have made it stateside... :/
