The mage is not probably far closer to nekkid Arrow than he would ever permit under other circumstances. He drags a hand down NightArrow's unscarred cheek, "You are a creature of exquisite beauty... Powerful, lithe... you move through the night as though you own it. I appreciate these things."

"I'm not worried. You can be tamed, and if necessary, trained." The mage is definitely being a little distracted over just how fine the scout looks in the buff. He prolongs taking Arrow back to his place a little longer, taking the opportunity to have his first kiss with his new pet.


Fortunately for Arrow, bondbirds are smart. Even without commands from the scout, Tobio decided to book it back to camp. Deciding on the most efficient way of waking the adept up, the owl dove and smote the tent Foxy was sleeping in.

The adept wakes up very quickly, and very confused. He puts on some pants because he's not very comfortable wandering aroudn naked, especially not someplace like the forest. Fox asks the owl where Arrow is, because he's pretty sure he wouldn't be getting attacked by the big bird if his lover were around... but he gets no reply (which, he expected Tobio to tell Lyr to tell him).

So he tries to find Arrow's mind, but that doesn't work. he stops himself from panicking though, because Tobio's there. Arrow can't be dead, or his bondbird wouldn't be flying aroudn attacking people. Then he gets a lot more scared, remembering the changecat that severly injured the scout before.

He gets Lyr on his shoulder, which hurts a bit as he hadn't bothered with a shirt, and then he turns to Tobio, "Show me to him."

Fox belatedly realizes he should have gotten his friends first, but if it was just a changecat, he should be able to take care of it easily. That was before Tobio led him to an overhang where he could see the whole seen. Including some other man kissing his naked boyfriend.

Besides, although his mindspeaking powers were blocked off, everything magical still worked, and he could tell that other man was strong... and reaked of evil. Unconciously, he switched from scared man who's boyfriend was in danger to Kalada'in Adept SnowFox, standing proud and regal despite the fact that all he's wearing is pants and his hair's down and a bit messy.

Snowfox concentrates some, from his higher vantage point where he can't immediately be seen, and fells the cat behind Arrow with a single, powerful levinbolt. He knew he wasn't as strnog as this adept on his own, but he had access to all the powerful nodes of the vale, so power for him should be nearly inexhaustible.

The Dark Adept knows though, and he's extremely not trhilled. he leaves keeping track of Arrow to the cats for now, and looks in the direction the magic had come from, "I know you're there. And you know you aren't as powerful as me. Come out now, and I'll make your death far more painless than I'd planned."

Fox so doesn't like that idea. He makes no responce. He wasn't inactive though, from the moment he'd made his first attack he'd been moving, in case the mage attacked the area he'd been in. He makes his way down to the level they're on. With attacks that took no effort whatever, he felled two large trees in such a manner that each tree fell in front of one of the changecats. During that loud commotion he walks out of the forest from the direction the mage had originally come from, looking very dangerous, and practically radiating pissed off waves.

Snowfox ignores Arrow, not because he's heartless, because he needs to concentrate on the Adept. Fox had never been all that powerful for an adept... but one thing he did have was knowledge, as he'd spent his entire life studying as many different styles of magic as possible.

The evil mage laughs at the outwardly scruffy appearance of the kaleda'in, "And so he's revealed. You look as though one of my cats just dragged you through the bush."

By now, both mages were strongly shielded. Fox took a quick glance at the cats, they seemed a little frightened after almost being smacked in the head by large trees, but they were still under their master's sway. He wished he could deal with them, as they likely did not make Arrow feel any safer, but he could risk using his magic for that until he'd dealed with this mage.

"I assume you're here to destroy the vale, and steal it's secrets and powers." Snowfox ignores the mage's comments about his appearance, "I don't even need you to tell me that, as scum like you are a dime a dozen. But what I will tell you is that you've made two very big mistakes."

"Oh? And what, praytell, are those?" The mage asks, souding very belittling.

Snowfox smirks a very dangerous smirk, "You will never beat me."

The mage rolled his eyes, as he begged to differ. This adept wasn't all that powerful... and if he had him distracted, his cats would attack, and there was no good way of shielding from that, "And the other?"

"NightArrow is mine" Snowfox replies, launching an attack that was much more flash than substance to start the battle off, creating enough force to blow back all of his long hair.

WindDance looks up at the same light as his lifebonded, and decides there's definitely something wrong. He reaches out with his mind in that direction, but can't find anything. He can barely sense flower, and she's not far away. he wakes her, and then looks in the direction of the light with his Magesight and that reveals quite a lot. he jumps up, and starts getting dressed.

The evil mage laughs, as that was a pathetic attack. Fox is happy if the mage things he's weak, especially if he can get away with flamboyant attacks like that, which hopefully will draw attention. The mage shoots some kind fo firey bolt at him.

It hits against fox's shielding, but pushes him back physically. This time Fox opts for an equally noticeable, but more useful spell. Instead of attacking his enemy, he creates a firewall blocking anything, including the cats and Arrow, from the mage battle.

The cats don't seem to like this at all, and they bugger off.

Wind shakes his head, "No way. There's a mage battle going on. Do you think you can find your way back to the Vale from here?"

As he's talking, Poe and Flower and probably Cy definitely show up. Flower seems displeased, probably over the interruption of her beauty sleep, "What's going on?"

"There's some kind of mage battle going on. Flower, bring rayne and Cy back to the vale, get every scout and every mage awake and ready. We don't know what's going on, but the vale could very well be in a lot of danger."

Fox and the evil adept so keep fighting, with Foxy taking hits and only attacking weakly, to make himself seem like he wasn't a threat, and to conserve his own power. The Evil Adept was weakening, as he did not have other sources of energy to draw on as the kaleda'in has.
