The ox faced assassin sprinted towards the injured team member, knowing that the beacon needed to be destroyed immediately before the trio of assassins were overrun. With every step, the stronger of the three assassins gained momentum, running too fast for the human eye to see. He was a mere 7 feet away from the injured team member, when Kensington's psychic probes nailed him, and tore open his mind. He went limp, and fell forward, still carrying the momentum from his sprint, and skidded and rolled across the rooftop to a halt a few feet in front of the injured team member that activated the beacon. He rose to his knees, disoriented from the attack, which would have revealed to kensington that Veroen, the Void Master Elder of the New York Vampire Coven, was behind the assault.

The serpent faced assassin appeared behind the injured team member, and without a pause, pulled out a syringe, injecting it into the injured mans neck, who instantly went limp and became unconscious. The serpent faced assassin then took the beacon from the now unconscious Nightwatchman, and threw it up into the air, and shot it with his pistol, causing it to explode into little pieces that scattered over the edge of the top of the building. Not more than a second after he pulled the trigger, he threw himself to the side, narrowly missing Kensingtons bullets as they flew past him.

The rat faced assassin charged at Kensington with assassin speed, drawing his katana and rearing it behind his back to force it down in a vertical motion, attempting to slice Kensington in half.

However, as the rat faced assassin brought up his sword to gain momentum to strike Kensington, the ox faced assassin fell over 10 feet away, dead from a blade sticking out from the front of his face. The serpent faced assassin tried to dodge the incoming blade whizzing through the air, but only managed to move so that it impaled him in the arm. The serpent faced assassin fell to the ground with a thud. While this all happened, the rat faced assassin was temporarily distracted by the death of one of his own, and had no time to react to the bullets flying at him from a different direction, and the bullets hit their target, going through the assassin and killing him. The serpent faced assassin stood up as quickly as he could, stunned and disoriented by the attack. He glimpsed the image of a Vampire dressed as a cowboy, riding a Void Stallion. He sensed an attack coming from behind him and turned just in time to see a female Vampire charging at him with unnatural speed, even for a Vampire.

But before Katarina could land her attack from behind, Veroen appeared from a blast of Void energy, blade drawn, in between Katarina and his last remaining minion. Veroen had a mere fraction of a second to react, and his sword danced the dance of a skilled swordsman with the speed only an ancient assassin could match, parrying Katarinas attack aimed at Kensington.

Veroen was launched backwards from the parry, which had transferred the momentum from Katarina's attack to his body. He never lost his balance, however, and landed gracefully on his feet, which scraped the ground as he came to a halt.

His long black hair flowed to the side in the midnight air, partially covering his face, which was slightly twisted into a snarl from the adrenaline. His fangs were elongated, and his eyes were wide open, and his crimson irises were barely visible from the rest of his eyes, which were black in color. He turned his blade 45 degrees, and put his right foot in front of him, a defensive stance taught to him centuries ago, during his previous life as a medieval assassin in ancient Europe. His black leather coat blew in the wind, revealing his intricately designed black leather armor he wore underneath.

The Void Elder stood there, for a moment, locking his gaze upon Katarina. Without looking away, he said "Take him and go!" to the serpent faced assassin to his left. The serpent faced assassin did not waste any time, and hurried over to the unconscious Nightwatch member, touching his good arm to the man, and they disappeared in a flash of void energy.

Veroen glanced towards Lucien, who was atop a Void stallion. 'Cute.' He thought to himself, as he looked back to Katarina.

"Care to explain why you attacked my assassins during an operation that was of no concern to you?" He said to the both of them, his eyes narrowing as he spoke. He knew Katarina and her cowboy would be a problem the moment they entered Las Noches. No one with that type of composure was anything other than trouble.

He had been gone for a long time, honing his skills in asia, with the help of a Void master who's existence was known by only himself, and Kasuya Minitashi. He had discovered the location of Tzun Khu by mistake, when he had first gained his connection to the void, when he slew Kasuya, and gained all of his memories and power over the Void. Tzun was an extremely powerful Void user, who's power and knowledge of the Void were unmatched by any living Void user, even Kyrre. Veroen left New York 5 years ago, to search for this Tzun Khu. It took almost a year of endless searching, following information that always led to dead ends, to finally get somewhere. However, it was Tzun Khu who found Veroen, and despite Veroens attempts at communicating that he was not there to kill Tzun, Tzun almost killed Veroen. He toyed with Veroen, almost killing him in the process, while Veroen was unable to put up much of a fight against the power and finesse of Tzun's power. After days of torture, Tzun reluctantly decided to test Veroen, who failed miserably. This, however, was only the beginning. Veroen proved that he had the will and mental strength worth teaching, and Tzun eventually took him in as his apprentice. Years later, here Veroen was, standing on a rooftop, an Elder of the New York coven. The years in training had more than quadrupled Veroens knowledge and control of the Void, making him much, much more dangerous than he had been the last time he was in New York.

He stood there, staring down Katarina, as the Void inside him thrashed violently, urging Veroen to waste no time and kill the three other Vampires in front of him.

He quelled the Void with ease, but didn't suppress it from showing its power, which pulsated through Veroen's eyes. If the foreign elder abandoned reason, both her and her cowboy would be in for a nasty surprise.

If there was one lesson that Katarina had taken to heart completely and utterly it would be to never underestimate one’s opponent. It seemed as though on principle many chose to underestimate her and many covens in Europe had learned the hard way exactly what she was capable of. She was perfectly able to erect void manifestations of her own as both Veroen and Lucien had already done, she simply chose to reserve herself for the moment. The void, like opponents, was never to be underestimated. Utilizing it too extensively without the proper credentials would lead to a fate worse than death. Of this she was fully aware, however, it wasn’t out of fear she reserved herself. It was simply out of discipline and control. She refused to limit herself to being a one trick pony, refused to be predictable in any sense of the word.

Upon her thrown blades connecting with both assassins, however, the knives dissolved back into the void as though they’d never existed. It was a useful trick considering she hated losing her possessions and before she’d learned the trick she’d refused to use throwing knives for that reason: if you threw them at someone you risked having them thrown back at you or forced yourself to retrieve them if you happened to want them back. Her prowess with the void, however, had eliminated that issue for her and she’d taken up the art many centuries ago.

Unlike Veroen, it was next to impossible for one to tell she was a void touched vampire unless they already possessed the information or micro analyzed her obsessively. Her grip over the void was simply that powerful that she was able to suppress it if she wished to. She wasn’t into childish displays of power and trying to ‘show off’ her abilities. Being the ever practical being she was, she would only use her abilities for a purpose she deemed worthy to seek them out for. After all, Katarina hadn’t made the name she had by solely relying upon the void. She was a foe to reckon with just as much because of her extensive knowledge as her skill with the void.

While Katarina had been aware of the presence of the Nightwatch, she had little if any way to distinguish them from ‘normal’ vampires of the coven. As far as she was concerned, they were eradicating the ever growing infestation of mongrels plaguing the city. Who was she to wrong them for that? As a personal vanguard for vampiric kind it was her duty to eradicate the lycan threat that had remained present for vampires even before she’d been ‘born’. Safeguarding her kind was the duty she’d chosen to take upon herself, had devoted her life to it and her will and devotion were seen as admirable, valuable assets within the European covens. To this day she was coveted by most European covens, her presence alone being the highest of honors to most.

And then she had come to New York … Where the coven elders revered her with suspicion and open disdain. Where they not only accepted lycan’s presence but allowed them to roam about vampiric establishments freely without any consequence whatsoever. It was still an unfathomable concept to her. And now the void using vampire without a last name now chose to cross blades with her. She foresaw all evidence she’d gathered so far as a challenge to order. Letting lycans roam about rampantly was never in anyone’s best interest: vampires or humans for that matter. They were wild animals, savage beasts that knew nothing of being civil. And yet these vampires clearly chose to accept and even protect them from the likes of her. It was disgusting.

Care to explain why,” Katarina echoed his words staring intently back at him, refusing to budge in the least but making no move to attack Veroen either, “you are attacking one of your fellow coven members? I fail to see what he's done to merit being attacked.” Her own question and statement following, unless he was utterly daft, served to answer the question he’d asked of her and give her some insight to the situation all at once. Two birds with one stone. While she wasn’t in a hurry she wasn’t particularly wanting to linger on the issue for too long. However, this void vampire was clearly feisty and she wouldn’t be surprised at all if he chose to pick a fight. It was reasonable enough, as far as she was concerned, to protect one of their own kind from a shady void user with demented morals.

Veroen held his defensive stance after Katarina replied to his question. In all reality, it wasn't really any of this woman's business, but it was obvious that she was the type that liked to have her hands in everyone's affairs. More than likely it was a control issue developed from being in leadership for far too long. He gazed at her for a moment, before breaking his silence.

"He is a traitor to his own people. He, and a good deal of others, are responsible for attacks on one of our safehouses." He knew Rogue had been trying to avoid telling her everything that was going on, but in the light of the current situation, Veroen decided that it was best to explain what was happening. "They are little more than terrorists, attempting to defy the New York coven with their attacks. My minions intercepted them preparing for another operation, here on this very rooftop..." he motioned with his sword to the device on the cell phone tower, which had been fried by Kensington in desperation after Veroen's assassins attacked.

He started pacing to his left, never taking his eyes off her. "Surely as a fellow Elder, you can understand what it means to punish traitorous groups such as the Nightwatch, who attack their own without question." Veroen didn't know Katarina, but somehow he doubted any of this would hit home with her. But, Veroen was not a mindless, bloodthirsty killer, and if he had the opportunity, he would try to at least reason with a foe before taking it upon himself to annihilate them.

He stopped pacing, and stood there for a moment, his appearance still the same. His eyes pulsated, as if they were alive, still black from the Void. Though Veroen was attempting to give Katarina the chance to understand the situation, he was not about to back down and show weakness as an Elder. "This is not your city, Katarina, nor is this within your jurisdiction to make decisions to interfere with our business." He stared at her with his Void infested eyes, giving her a dangerous look. She was challenging him with her words, but Veroen would not tolerate a foreigner to interfere with New York Coven business.

Rogue made her way out of Las Noches, and through the area where Veroen was having his exchange with Katarina and Lucien. She was able to hear the last bit of their conversation with her own ears.

She was not seen nor heard at the moment, and she was downwind, appropriately. Only Veroen would sense her there because of the connection they had.

Veroen began pacing to his right and then to his left after he had spoke his words to Katarina, warning her that she was out of her jurisdiction, and that they were within his jurisdiction. He sensed Rogue nearby. She was more than likely listening to the conversation. He knew it must be difficult for Rogue, since this Katarina was a life long friend of hers. He hoped, for Rogues sake, that it would not come to bloodshed. He did not wish for her to be forced to take the life of one of her old comrades.

He continued pacing slowly, like a beast circling its prey defensively, without any reaction to discovering Rogues presence. "I do not know you or your cowboy friend here.." he motioned with a nod of his head towards Lucien, and continued, "..but I can assure you that you don't know me, or what I am capable of. You may outnumber me.." he said, ceasing to pace, "...But don't think for even a moment that you outmatch me." He glanced over at Kensignton, irritated that his operation had been interrupted by the likes of these two.

He returned his gaze to Katarina. "There's not a need to fight, but if you refuse to respect our ways of life here in MY city, I will not tolerate it." when he spoke, he hissed the word 'my', making it clear that he was furious.

Alexz appeared silently behind a large air conditioning unit on the rooftop of a building a few blocks downwind of Veroen, Katarina, Lucien, and Kensington. She had refrained from using the shadows to travel, knowing Katarina would have been able to sense it, and had taken great care to make her arrival unnoticed. Discreetly reaching out with her mind, she tapped into Veroen's in order to notify him of her presence and in order to gain a visual without revealing her position. Removing a handmade silver dagger from her boot should it be needed, she waited silently.

Felicia hurriedly fled the scene of the crime, gliding silently through the shadowed area of the back allies thanks to her renewed energy. The previously consumed alcohol was now a long-forgotten memory, but she couldn't shake her disgust of the man she'd just devoured. His cologne, an expensive version of Axe, still lingered on her hair, skin, and clothes. It was atrocious, and so strong. Her senses were far more acute now that she had fed. Her colour was much healthier and there was almost a glow to her appearance, especially in her eyes.

Up ahead she heard a violent commotion; there was clearly a fight out in the open. She had missed a lot. At an urgent pace, she quickly made it to the alley and street corner a few blocks from the altercation. This was definitely personal and she was the last person who wanted to be involved. Felicia slowly wiped her sticky red lips with the back of her hand, the wheels turning in her head.

This type of fight was just the thing that had cost her mortality and her family's life years ago. And unlike many, she did her best to learn her lessons, no matter how long ago they were. Unfortunately, that little slip in judgement changed the rest of her previous life.

She inhaled. There were humans, vampires, and werewolves in the vicinity. In a ninja-like manner, she carefully began to scale the building behind which she was hiding. Felicia was ignorant to the dangers at hand, assuming the group was unconcerned with anyone but one another. Little did she know, she was also about to join someone else on the rooftop.

Rogue sensed Alexz arrive on the scene. She couldn't see her, but she could sense her not too far away.

Rogue had figured that Katarina might try to interfere in matters in New York after the display in Las Noches, but this soon...It was almost an outrage.

Regardless of what Katarina thought on the matters of some form of acceptance of other species...it was nearly unheard of in any coven for visiting Elders of other covers would even begin to involve themselves in affairs where they weren't openly invited into. Yes, other Elders from foreign covens sometimes shadowed different areas around the world, but, only for an educational sake...depending on the problem, Elders had a tendency, when invited, to share expertise on problems that maybe other covens might soon face....

Kaei had no desire to eliminate one of her own kind who had lived as long as Katarina had...the things that vampire had seen had even predated her own birth by a few centuries. Knowing the way Katarina fought...she had no desire to be considered a full fledged foe...but if Katarina really was going to side with the Nightwatch...Rogue had to prepare herself for what that could mean.

The unexpected arrival of a vampire female, coupled with the recent turn of events, caused Alexz to instinctually act in defense. She jumped into action without pausing to evaluate whether or not Felicia was a legitimate threat or not, a pause which could cost her her life if she were. As Felicia began to climb over the building's edge, Alexz pulled her over by the back of her neck, using her momentum and a bit of additional telekinetic force to push her into a forward roll which left her on her back. Pressing her left knee into her chest, with her left hand and right foot pressing Felicia's wrists into the ground, she brought her dagger to Felicia's throat, the tip firmly pressing into the soft spot just behind her jawbone.

Without pushing the dagger further to draw blood, she locked eyes with the young vampire and spoke in a very low but demanding voice, "Move or speak and this dagger will go straight through your skull, is that clear? State your purpose."

((OOC: That'll work!))

Felicia didn't even have time to think; it all happened too fast to remember, yet she flew through the air in slow motion. And though stunned from the blow her entire body took from the rooftop, the trapped vampire felt positively duped. In the process of avoiding the brawl below and reliving her life's worst mistake, she instead put herself in the clutches of a possibly stronger, seemingly ruthless vampire - once again. What this vicious woman didn't know, however, was that she and Felicia shared the same telekinetic powers. And Felicia had been practicing heavily in recent years.

Her vision finally cleared, and with a rigid smirk she closed her eyes tightly, sending the dagger skidding across the roof. Her facial muscles eased noticeably, though they still conveyed nerves. Obviously, vampires scarcely needed weapons outside of themselves, and she was wise enough to know that much. Her lids parted once more, revealing a pair of eyes which seemed to glow. She waited for the metallic clanging to stop before she spoke, hoping the disarmed woman would still listen.

"I don't mean you any harm," she wheezed as she tried to shift Alexz's weight from her chest. "It's a long story, but..." She coughed.

Sure, she was stronger from feeding. But Felicia didn't know the capacity of this strange woman, and she didn't want to provoke further hostility by using that strength.

"I'm avoiding the fight," she breathed. Though it doesn't seem like it... She chuckled inwardly, unaware that her thoughts could be heard. "...Now, would you kindly get the hell off of me?"

Alexz definitely hadn't anticipated Felicia's use of telekinesis, which turned out to be a slight advantage for the younger vampire as the the unexpected burst of energy made the dagger easily slip from her fingers and across the rooftop. However, it did not rest so far for long as she retrieved it using more telekinesis, moving her hand up to catch the dagger by the handle as it sliced back through the air. She chose not to press the dagger to Felicia's neck as she had before, though that by no means indicated a level of trust. Firmly holding the dagger at her side, she listened as the young vampire spoke, her facial features remaining unchanged and as smooth as those of a statue.

"A peculiar choice for a rooftop for someone supposedly avoiding the fight, wouldn't you say? Just so happened to chose the one with another upon it?" she arched a brow.

She observed the vampire beneath her for a moment, evaluating whether or not she could possibly be involved with the Nightwatch or Katarina and Lucien. Though youth was often a target for extremist groups, Felicia's lack of awareness was indicative of a lack of training, at least the kind any assassin group or older elitist vampire would possess. After making this assessment, she loosened her grip on her wrists and removed herself from her chest, standing at her feet.

Without offering a hand, she spoke again, quietly so her voice would be masked by the wind, "I would leave if I were you."

((Sorry for the delay folks, It has been a hectic few days))

Kensington, having been assisted by two yet unknown vampires was silently composing himself. He sheathed his sword and re-holstered Nightfall.
He reached out to Katarina with his mind, 'My thanks for your intervention milady and to your companion as well. It would seem not every Vampire has gone mad with this disgusting Lycanophillia. However you may regret aiding me, certainly if that dog Veroen has his way.'
The assassins had fled or died, taking a member of the Nightwatch with them. There would be vengeance for that, but not now. And in their place came their puppet master Veroen, that arrogant b*****d. Though his void powers were staggering, his grasp on the reality of their kind was astonishingly naive. The Vampire kind were the immortal enemy of the Lycan, so it had been for thousands of years, so it was today and so it would be for eternity. To dispute this fact was treason.

At being called a traitor Kensington laughed, 'Seriously Veroen? You dare to call me a traitor? This Coven is heretical! You, Rogue and all who follow blindly to the beat of your diseased drum are blood traitors! You will be the spark that ignites civil war. A vampire civil war! The very thought of it is abhorrent. You wonder why the Nightwatch was created? Well there's your answer, we cannot sit idly by and let you pollute the purity and ideology of our race. So we strike, at Lycans and at you, for you are no better. You call me a traitor? Take a good long look at yourself! You shame yourself sir!'

As he was finishing his tirade against Veroen he sensed a familiar presence, he reached out gently with his mind and smiled, Alexz... Though what she was doing to the younger vampire made him chuckle, he could sense what she was doing and the fear from the younger vampire. He grabbed the knife with his mind and wrenched it out of her grasp; it winged through the air over the distance and he caught it deftly.
'Now now Alexz, play nice!'

The atmosphere was becoming tense on the rooftop, Kensington began to charge his psychic powers, he wouldn't be the first to throw a punch but he would be ready to react when the the first one was thrown.
