Atem shook his head, closing his eyes. "That woman was supposed to become the queen of Egypt. Seto knew that better than anyone, but he couldn't keep his filthy hands off of her, hmm?" Atem wasn't talking like himself; not only in what he was saying, but how he was saying it. His voice sounded a bit different. "I can't let this go unexcused. They need to be punished."

Atem looked up at Nanu, unblinking, before he smiled oddly. "Of course. I'll deal with Seto after tonight. I'll see what the other priests have to say."

Elsewhere in the palace, Akhenaden sighed heavily. Using the Millennium Rod proved harder than he would have thought; but once he understood how to use it, it was simple enough. He just wished he had practiced on someone more simple-minded than the pharaoh. Plus, Atem had a Millennium Item of his own, which made it difficult to break through the automatic barrier Atem had. He knew it wasn't going well, because that girl had been able to tell something was wrong with Atem. She was just too close to him, though. Anybody else wouldn't be able to tell. Besides, what would she do about it?

Mahado was in the main room of the palace, his Millennium Ring off. He was polishing it; not that there was really any need. He wouldn't be that noticed. He looked up with surprise when Nanu came up to him, and listened politely when she spoke. "Of course." He didn't know Nanu that well, but he knew of her. He used to see her often when she was a servant. "I'm not doing anything much. What's on your mind?"

"Well I was speaking with atem and...he dident seem right..."Nanu said tiwddling her fingers. "He dident blink when he looked and me....or while we were talking..and we were talking for a while...He dident sound like himself...." Nanu trailed off as she thought silently "What..what if he was possesed by some sort of demon!"

Mahado had to struggle not to laugh. Possessed by a demon? He had to answer Nanu, though. "No demon could possess the pharoah. His will is too strong." He said seriously, looking her in the eye. "But that does sound odd, if you observed him right. Do you want me to go talk to him and see if I can't figure out what's the matter?

Mahado nodded, still trying to look serious, though he didn't know why Nanu should be worried. Atem was probably jittery from the festival this week. Still... possessed by demons? There was no way-- The thought suddenly hit Mahado as he had begun to walk away from Nanu. There was a way, and by someone in the palace. He turned around and went over to Nanu. "Hey, would you mind doing a favor for me while I go check on Atem? I need you to check on Seto and make sure he's, um, doing all right. Just... make sure he isn't going anything with his Millennium Item."

In front of Seto's room, the guards were still there. They were chatting back and forth, but stopped when Nanu approached. They quickly straightened up, both remembering their jobs of making sure nobody bothered the priest.
