Temperature conversion is hard. I think I kind of remember going over in school though.
You know, Celsius seems to make more sense. How come we don't use it?
And does it really vary? I mean, I couldn't just subtract sixty to get it? Why does it change like that?

TuffGhost Temperature conversion is hard. I think I kind of remember going over in school though. You know, Celsius seems to make more sense. How come we don't use it? And does it really vary? I mean, I couldn't just subtract sixty to get it? Why does it change like that? The same reason you can't add 10 to a measurement in miles and get it's equivalent in kilometers. A degree Celsius is not equal to a degree Fahrenheit anymore than a centimeter is equal to an inch. The difference in temperature with every degree Celsius is equal to nearly twice (or 1. cool that of the difference in temperature measured by a degree Fahrenheit. Additionally, because each scale begins (or places zero) at a different temperature, 32 must be added or subtracted in conversion. Yes, Celsius makes more sense. *grin* That's why the rest of the world uses it, after all. We don't because we're stubborn.

Are there any places aside from labs that use Kelvin? I always liked that measurement for some reason.

I hate bothering with measuring of any kind. I'm basically incapable of it. I just kind of group that kind of stuff into "physics or physics related" because then I don't have to deal with it. I know the common measurements found on an average ruler. Distance? Height? I couldn't tell you unless someone measured it for me. Miles, kilometers? Man, I just drive.

I don't measure or anything, either. But Kelvin just has a cool name.
"Yo, it's zero degrees kelvin" "NO FREAKIN WAY!" "Yeah, that's totally kelvin."
Like Family guy and Smurfing, or American Dad and whatever his son's name is.

I don't watch television but I have seen a few episodes of Family Guy. I didn't see that episode though.
Gah I just got a job interview at a department store I don't even like. I need a job though. I think I should take my lip ring out, but if I do, I won't be able to put it back on. Honestly I don't know how to take it out...

They're probably less likely to hire you with a lip ring, though. As sad as that is. x.x I got my job without even doing a proper interview, which was kinda strange for me, because I was all prepared to do one and fail miserably at it.

Yeah I expect it to go badly. I don't even want that job but I'm not allowed to be picky. I think I'll wait to see how the interview goes. If they tell me I have the job if I take it out then I will find some sort of way to take it out.
What kind of a place do you work at?

My friend just got a job at a grocery store. He works in the fish department. Dead fish creep me out so bad I could never do that. I wouldn't mind doing produce but I'm not really qualified to work as a grocer of any sort because I have whiplash.
Ugh I just realized something. Doing any sort of cashier work would kill my neck... I can't stand for long periods of time..... I never thought about that...

By the time my shift is over, my neck has such a huge kink in it that it hurts to sit down. And my feet are killing me. And my blood sugar's really low. Work is so much fun. ^_^
