Holy crap guys guess what I have my own guild that I'm building from scratch! But there is one problem I really need ideas like names and stuff. I'm thinking a kind of steampunk/fantasy theme. What do you think?

I'm on to! Thanks Rangi I was just looking for suggestions I have a theme (steampunk/fantasy) I was just trying to get ideas for a name I was think Steamgear City. Thoughts, ideas, grievances, random wordsthat somehow make sentences?

:: Call it something all Victorian and steampunk sounding without making it too obviously steampunk. If you get it right it'll be steampunk without trying too hard and everyone will think it's so classy and cool. So, like, "London 1890" or whatever. Something crazy like that, but nifty. Capture it. Etcetera, etcetera, etc.

Tamaro isn't working with scholars, he is working with people who kill for a living haha. They want to win not sound smart or honorable. haha
I saw that you posted now i must think of how Konrad will react when a phantom squid monster shows up and he suddenly gets a bitchin latex suit.
Now, as for steampunk, i wouldn't be so blunt and obvious with names. Steamgear City sounds like something that everyone and their brother would have used in every barton rp out there.
What i would do, it try to tip the scales for some indivduality.
Most people do steampunk in the victorian age, so they use names sounding english/victorian. I would try to think of something else to incorperate. Make it YOURS my friend. I know you can do it. Instead of having steampirates, have steamninja. Instead of having flying airships, revolve around submarines. Do things that nobody has seen before, yet don't go too far off the deep end as to scare them away (thats my usual problem)
I once worked on a steampunk roleplay that got to be much to big to be used, as we would need like 30 rpers at least....... But it was original, it would have been something that nobody had done before and it was drawing a lot of attention until we realized it was too big.
Instead of taking ideas from all the other popular roleplays, take something, and think about where that idea came from, and go down that route of creation and at some point branch off into somethng new and exciting.
Thats my oppinion.
But if you do want to stay with just simple steapunk do english names

Scarlet Abbey
Blah blah
Simple stuff. Look up actual cities from the time period and change them up a bit.
