Trigramatic "And then he had an out," Ship reminded. "It's not that I don't sympathize, but Pokemon will instinctively only seek short term objectives, and those that have been experimented on could possibly be too far gone to think beyond an hour in the future. If an individual is a threat to you and others, especially if he's proven to have murdered and tortured in the past, a certain level of vigilantism is morally acceptable, including manslaughter. But because you didn't witness his death, he survived. What would you have done if he'd taken your children?" A sip as he waited for an answer. "I don't know." I said to him. "I won't lie, and I won't be ashamed of it when I say I am highly protective of the boys." I said. "However, one thing startles me about you. You underestimate Pokemon. Just like that scientist. 'See on the short term'? Honestly? You really sell them short." I said, taking a sip of my Coke.

"Not all Pokemon have evolved in such a way that they can process abstract thought. You might think I debase Pokemon, but I would think you're idealistic if you think every Rattata in a horde can understand its impact on a farmer's crops, or even the concept of mercantilism or possession. Some Pokemon can, some Pokemon can't. I'm lucky I was born a Zorua hybrid. Zorua and Zoroark can understand those things already. And Articuno can understand that humans freeze in ice storms and rescue them. And Vulpix and Ninetales understand the wants and needs of humans and can manipulate them through illusion. And Electrike and Manectric understand property, allegiance and won't breed with family. I won't pretend to know what Pokemon were actually there, but I'm sure you know what I'm getting at?"

"Yes, I do. However, Idealistic? I wouldn't think so. Open-minded a fair bit, maybe, but idealistic...ehhhh. Let me confess something else to you...I had your line of thinking for quite some time." I said. "Then I met Miles, a Ninetales hybrid, the leader of this team before Sub." I said to him. "I learned one thing the rather hard way by being with him, fighting along side him, and so on. Nothing is THAT concrete." I said.

"At this point, we would only be arguing philosophy," Ship concluded. "What's concrete and what's not. I can only trust what I can verify before me. It's how I've had to live. Live by applying the scientific method to what I do every day. I can't prove something doesn't exist, but if I find a red coated Rattata, I can conclude there are red Rattata. If someone doesn't talk like everyone else in a room or on the street, they're probably new to the city and might possibly be after me. I can keep on top of this by studying a crowd's habits everywhere I go. Until local groups are confirmed to have been contracted to be after me, this is reliable practice."
With one last swig, he finished his cooled tea. That he and Blizz were alive at this point simply meant their methods worked to secure their own survivals. Nothing more or less.

I leaned on the table, staring at Ship. I'll give him this much, he did have a point about one thing. We would be arguing philosophy, at least through the afternoon until the boys are back up. Though, Im actually learning more about this guy. Though..........maybe I should introduce him to Miles. Nah. I don't think he wants to deal with someone so brash again. Though I am reminded about one thing. I'm taking for granted one thing. Ship didn't have luxuries that I had. He's been living, looking over his shoulder at every turn. Something no one should have to do. I suppose he will learn at one point or another...I hope. "I didn't think I'd have a conversation like this to someone for quite some time." I said to him.

"I had...very good schooling. It was rigorous. It provided a foundation on which I could learn during my travels. Those travels just came much too soon is all."
He rose and went to the stove to pour himself some more water, and added another tea bag to his mug.

You have no intention on returning back to your region, do you?" I asked, curiously at that.

"Perhaps one day," Ship admitted. "But it won't be soon. Not at all." This much he sounded sure of.

"So, new topic then...you seem to hold Sub in high regard, apparently. Though I am left to wonder, what do you think of the rest of the people here?" I asked. Personally, I was out to see how comfortable he really is out here around a bunch of strangers for the most part.

"They're fine. I've fought with them. I can trust them," Ship said. "It doesn't seem that Sol's from this region either. He's rather...archaic at times. And Freth has the fighting spirit of an Amazon. Night, too. I can't tell which one is quicker to temper sometimes. Two others...Odd and Lykas? They seem a little fey? And fun people at least. And the humans seem adventurous. I don't know enough about them to say, but with regards to the team as a whole, I never feel as if I need to look over my shoulder. Sometimes though I must admit that Sub seems more than human. Have you ever felt that?"

"Regardless, he can be described as such...weird." I cracked. "At any rate, I'm glad you feel comfortable for the most part around here. You should probably meet the boys first hand whenever they wake up." I said. , Back in the bedroom, as if his ears were burning, Tristen woke up, if only for a brief second then fell back to sleep. His arm was around Tails and he held him close. He cared for his brother, to say the least.

"Mm. I don't know them personally. I only know that one of them likes streaking about, especially when it's raining," Ship confirmed.

"Actually, here recently, he has kept his clothes on." I said to him. "He really didn't start this until we got back from our trip to help Miles out." I said to him. "He...had a bit of a revelation himself recently...it was perhaps why...I don't know." I said.

Trigramatic Ship's eyes were wide with silent interest. He wouldn't prod, but he had the feeling Blizzard would elaborate. "I can see it in you, Ship...I have your attention, yes?" I said, sitting up. "Let me be blunt, coming back from helping Miles, it was worse than we had imagined." I said to him. "Within that time, and after it for that matter, Tails had grown to realize that, despite the fact that he was mostly Pokemon, more so than any hybrid here, that being submissive wasn't as glamorous as he imagined it. He wanted the carefree life like any Pokemon. He kind of grew envious of my own Pokemon in a sense. Always loyal. Carefree. Happy in general. Always abiding by me whenever I called upon them. Thing of it, the thing he didn't realize was that their loyalty is bound by trust to me, likewise my trust in them. My Pokemon are every bit of family to me as he, Tristen, and Freth. Just being submissive for the sake of submissiveness, let alone just letting others have their way, especially during the absurdity of the situation, was just...well...blantant ignorance." I said to him. "Miles was about to do something, take it upon his own self to go on some world saving quest, which is all well and good, but he was about to lose his life in the process, expecting the likes of us to just stand back. Tails, not in these words mind, pretty much told him 'the hell with that', and told him off." I said. "Tails grew up that day."
