-=Neko made his way towards the Dojo from the Southwest, still a ways from getting there, a girl following quickly behind him=-
PostPosted: Tue Oct 03, 2006 9:56 am

" I am chunnin." She supplied quickly. "I had just begun my training for Jounin when I was sent away." Her voice seemed to quiet a bit at the last few words but she shrugged it off and continued up the dirt path. "As for being able to manipulate water, I've had no formal training, anything I can do, I taught myself through research. Chakra control is something that is held about all else in the clan."

They were fast approaching what she assumed was the main Dojo. Everything seemed so different from her home. Though full of many gardens and dojos, the Hyuuga compound was like a small city, everything intertwined and connected. The open feel of this place was comforting.

Chuunin? Really now? That must've been an old letter, then.

-=Neko listened and nodded in acknowledgement, fairly impressed that she taught herself, but one thing still stuck out in his mind as they approached the clearing in front of the dojo, the courtyard. The grass wass fairly low, there were no trees, and a fountain in front of the weathered porch=-

So, since we've got plenty of time, how exactly did you come to be here?

"Oh. I was a b*****d." She stated plainly, pausing to admire her surroundings. "Because my parents were both already engaged, I was going to be raised by the branch family but mother's husband died, father refused his betrothal and they ended up together, much scorned by the rest, but together. The elders permitted me to train with the other Hyuuga children and attend the academy. Once I began to surpassing the heir, they became worried...

"Once I achieved Chuunin while the heir remained a genin, they made the decision that I was becoming a threat even though I had no intentions whatsoever about the position of Clan heir. I guess they thought either myself or someone else would try to supplant the current heir with me, citing my greater ability...the choice was for me to marry into the family, probably one of the older men, or to leave. They were afraid to kill me, it went against our code of honor. That's how I got here...well traveling for roughly a month, but..." Her voice trailed off followed by a small hand gesture.

She'd recounted the story as though stating plain fact. There was no smugness or disappointment to her voice. She'd long ago schooled herself to hide emotions if need be.

-=Neko's eyes opened a little wider as he turned his head to look at Nami, ganuinely surprised. He was going to teach the cream of the Hyuuga crop=-

Interesting...

-=He ignored the fact that Nami left off in the middle of a sentence, and opened the doors to the Dojo, walking into the main room=-

We should have an empty bedroom, but I'm not too sure.

"I can't sleep on the floor in a corner if I have to. It's not that uncomfortable." She replied, more to herself than anyone, opalescent eyes taking in her surroundings almost methodically.

The high cielings and oak floors were superb and once again the open, warm feeling was comforting. In the back of her mind, she was taking count of all the doors, windows and furniture in the room. The need to be completely aware of one's surroundings had been ingrained in her and the rest of the clan since early childhood.

-=Neko chuckled a little, walking to one of the halls=-

Well, I'm sure that the rafters are fairly comfortable.

-=He walked down the hall, and opened one of the doors. The room was empty, save a chest of drawers, a simple bed, and a mirror. There was't a window, but there was a lamp on the drawers=-

You can have this one, noone's using it.

"Thank you sensei." She replied, grateful, as she bowed. Her braid fell over her shoulder and into her face and she brushed it impatiently back over her shoulder as she moved back to an upright position. "Are there any instructions I am to follow?"

Yes. Don't call me Sensei.

-=Neko grinned and chuckled a little=-

Seriously, it makes me feel old. This is the real world, now, you're not as sheltered as you were in the Hyuuga Compound. I'm not saying that you can go around disrespecting people..But just try to relax.

-=He smiled genuinely and started walking towards the main room again=-

Tea?
PostPosted: Tue Oct 03, 2006 10:59 am

"Tea would be wonderful." Nami smiled, cheeks flaming as she followed him out towards the main room once more. " What do I call you then?" She asked, baffled that one did not call their teacher 'sensei'. To do so back in her village usually came with punishment of some kind, even at the academy.

-=Neko walked into the kitchen, and pulled the tea canister down from the cabinet. He walked to the sink and filled the kettle with water before setting it on the stove, and leaning against the counter=-

Neko is fine, but if you feel generous, 'Supreme Overlord Nekojiri' will suffice.

-=Neko waved his hand in the air, as if he was watching the words of that phrase light up in the sky, then he waited to see if Nami caught the sarcasm, trying to keep his face as serious as he could. Unfortunately for him, laughter was the one thing he had trouble hiding from people=-
PostPosted: Tue Oct 03, 2006 11:26 am

"I think I 'll have to go with Neko." She grinned, supressing a giggle. "Although Supreme Overlord Nekojiri has a nice ring to it..." Her fingers picked at the table surface, an idle habit. The lack of prejudice this place seemed to radiate, was almost rejuvenating.

((Well hello there. You must be Neko's new friend.

Nek, oyaho.))
PostPosted: Tue Oct 03, 2006 11:32 am

-=Neko laughed, and turned to get two mugs ready. He sat them on the counter, and poured some of the tea leaves right into the cup, before picking up the kettle and pouring the near-boiling water in. he let them set for a minute or two, before placing a hand over each of them. After a few seconds, he walked over to the trash and threw away the used tea leaves, and handed Nami her mug of tea, before going to the counter to grab his own=-

It's not the best in the world, but it's not the worst. You said that you researched Ninjutsu and taught yourself?

Walking into the Main dojo he looked around, his emotionless heart colder than ice. He disliked being with so many people, but knew that the only way to get what he wanted was to train and become recognized as an elite ninja. And the best place to train was here. He had been accepted not shortly after arriving, but now he had to find his dojo, the "Yami" dojo. Walking through the hall he attempted to stay clear of the people around him.
