Lou waved absently to Kai as he entered, reaching over to help himself to the bowl of pretzels. He studied Vela for a few moments. "Funny..." He murmured, trying to read her expression. "I get scared people a lot, but usually they're not like that." He mused, "Are you feeling ill, Vela?" He asked, mainly to test her name out on his lips.

Vela listened to his words, letting them tumble around in her head for a minute. If she could've seen him? Probably have given up on paying attention by now. But, things weren't like that at all. "I am blind. I woke up last night and could not see, and still cannot." Her eyes averted, resting on what would have been her lap.

(( O_o Oh dear oh my....))
Kai sat down and looked at the baby that was swishing his fox tail at the same time as eh tris flying, to get closer to dad, which was holding him a bit far away, "You;re way too active, you have to go to sleep, little one..." The baby started laughing when Kai started to tickle his belly.

Lou studied her a bit more with a concerned expression. "That must be dreadfully terrifying to wake up to." He sympathized. He had a feeling the baby cooing in the background was the only thing keeping the tension in the room relaxed. "I can at least consider myself lucky to have all my senses working."

Nodding for a moment, Vela's mask of a face tried to pull back on, like normal, only to crumble. She couldn't manage it. What was the point, if she could never protect again? What would she live for? Pushing the thoughts away, Vela blinked, with out really knowing how to tell if she had or not. "Why did you sit here, Louise?"

From the kitchen floated a warm bottle of milk that Kai grabbed without giving second thought and fed the baby, which struggled at first but ended up drinking the milk happily, "That's it. We have to let mommy sleep tonight..."

Lou kept his eyes on her, "Because I can only sit next to people one day a month." He explained. He had long grown out of trying to hide what he was. Who was he fooling, anyway? One day friendships? Why bother? "I've been cursed to live my life as a monster... Except for the night of the full moon." He explained, "I'm sitting next to you because I can."

Vela nodded, drawing one leg to tuck up underneath her. Extending her hand to the cup of cold-drink, it touched the condensation and recoiled. Shuddering a little bit, Vela gave up and nodded again. "Where will you go after tonight?"

Kai got up and walked upstairs with the child, even if it was still fighting with him.

Lou sighed through his cheek and shrugged, "Who knows? I always resupply the night before and I'm on my way before dawn." He explained, "No one ever minds since I don't make much trouble." He murmured. A thought suddenly occurred to him. If he got to know this woman, it wouldn't matter if he was hideous because she was blind! As long as it was all right with everyone else, perhaps he'd stay a few more days and break to make a friend. "I dunno... This place seems okay, though. Maybe I'll relax out back, tomorrow. Weather's supposed to be nice."

Vela nodded, rubbing at one of her eyes. "It smells like morning rain." She said simply, arms getting a bit of a chill at the familiar feeling of morning drizzle on the way. With a small sigh, the noise alien to her ears but oddly comforting, she looked around the room. "I'm not usually like this."

Louise couldn't help but smile at this, "Not a talkative person, then?" He asked, standing up, "If it's going to rain, then I probably shouldn't sleep outside, tonight..." He murmured, tapping his chin. "I'll be in front of the fire, then." He announced, "It was extremely nice meeting you, Vela, but I'm afraid I'm dreadfully tired. Don't be foolish enough not to ask for my help if you need it." he said, reaching for her hand. He pulled it to his cheek, "This is what I really look like. Remember it because I won't be this way for about a month." He said before darting to the fireplace to curl up for the night. "Nighty night."

Vela held her hand in her lap, quite carefully, while listening to everything that he said. He had talked his whole way over there, and she could figure where he went, vaguely. She stood carefully, and followed over there, accidentally kicking him when she did get there. "Sorry." Feet feeling around on the ground, Vela sat, and drew her knees to her chest. "I can't go upstairs, and people can find me here." She explained, getting comfortable. "Goodnight." The word was a little dry, but, today really had asked quite a lot of the white haired girl.

Lou was still quite asleep on the floor. He looked as if he were making up for a lot of sleepless nights as he rolled over. His clothing was folded up neatly beside him as it was much too small, now. He was hunched over when he stood with paws that appeared to be used for walking on all fours, but he stood on two anyway. His front paws had digits like hands, but they were large and padded on the palms. He was covered in coarse dark blue fur from his snout to his tail and addressed the world with a deep gravely voice. His eyes were the same and so was his soul. There was no uncontrollable savageness. He was the very definition of a gentle giant.
