I have to say that, of those, I'd be the most excited about the Mole Mortar, 'specially if they bring back the alternate Underground/Airburst detonation for it. The Hades Assault Drill is just about the coolest work-up there, though. Hopefully that'll see some implementation somewhere down the line.
Again, welcome back, Brookman.

Again, welcome back, Brookman.Thank you. My only gripe with the Mole mortar is that it is such an ungainly thing to be carried by a single man. And I always thought that the Hades drill would be bigger, because this version uses a Centaur chassis, which is half the length of a Chimera.

True. From everything that I had read in the past on its use/function I figured that it'd be a tri/bi-pod mounted thing with a probe that went into the ground for stability. *goes off to look for pics of old Mole Mortars*

I'm weeping now because I think I'm going to be having even more Krieg holidays... I think my family is getting tired of the Warhammer jargon while my friends are just sinking in... But I love the Hades drill. It's just some type of badass. Same goes with the engineers with the mole.

Lady Blodwynn You forgot to mention that some of those designs are just try-outs and not actual product designs. Welcome back! blaugh Good. Looking at the Chimera, I still think I like the old one. sad

Damn...Looks like I'll have to cash in several favors, then.
As far as Apocalypse goes for Guard, which has been shown to be more useful/versatile: The Baneblade or Hellhammer?

The Baneblade is hands down the most useful all-rounder. It has the range and fire power to go toe to toe with everything of retarded gamers with home-made mechas. A Hellhammer is a great close-range support tank, viz heavy flamers and Hellhammer cannon that ignore cover. My own Baneblades are a mix, one is a command tank and the other a commissar tank minus sponsons but with extra armour plates. My Hellhammer has been upgunned with an extra pair of sponsons for close range torching. Especially useful for when you are attacked from several angles by infantry. Each weapon targeting a target of its own FTW!
And don't forget the coaxial rule, it can really make a difference in those battles.
Long story short: Baneblade first, Hellhammer second.

Many thanks. I was looking through it and I was planning on taking Baneblades (meaning that I was planning on making cardboard proxies) for my next big battle. Their sponson kit is more advertising to me, too. Lascannons and TL Heavy Bolters.

Have any of you tried building a skitarii force, and if so, how well did it work?

Alexi Terianis Have any of you tried building a skitarii force, and if so, how well did it work?
I've -played- with Skitarii forces before. That 6+ Invuln from Cyber-Enhancement is rarely useful because in most cases you would need a hell of a lot of 6s for it to be useful. Mechanized is quite often handy and so is Carapace Armor, but the points really start to rack up with all of the upgrades.
There's a link here for a Codex written by Tim Huckleberry that provides a true Adeptus Mechanicus army list.

I'm not sure I really agree that fits the feel of them, though.
I guess I'll have to keep looking into it, to see if there are others who have created similar documents. Because while that is quite interesting (and for the most part, accurate) it ends up being simply guardsmen with a little more armor, and tech-priests instead of officers. That's not what the skitarii are, really.
Thanks for the link, though, it's certainly an interesting thing to look over.

True. Every Skitarii is a warmachine on their own with the mechanical augmentations. I'd still like to see an official list and maybe some models come out for them, though the likelihood of that happening is pretty damned slim.

They did make Adeptus Mechanicus fleets for Battlefleet Gothic. =o

I suppose.
I still don't see it coming anytime soon. They already have half a dozen imperial factions, after all. Though, if you think about it, a faction like the skitarii could add some significantly cool things to the game. Melta-troops and plasma troops could be pretty common, but I'm not sure what they would use for a standard weapon.
What do you guys think? Hellguns? Bolters? It's already been said that they're much like Guard, so I think Hellguns would be more likely.
