"Its fine..... Me and some friends were camping. Most of them left a day early. Me and Carol didn't want to go home just yet, so we stayed. It was dark and we were hanging out around the fire..... the thing came out of nowhere. I was lucky, it just tossed me aside, scratching my front. when I woke up the next morning....." A few tears came to her eyes as she was practically relived it.

He blinked and wrapped his arms around her and the sheets, pulling her close. "You don't have to say it if you don't want to."

She let him hold her. "..... I never told anyone the truth about what happened. By the time I got home I didn't have a scratch on me. I told the cops that Carol was killed on our camping trip. I gave them some stupid lie. They investigated, said I was lucky what ever got Carol didn't come and get me." She sniffed and curled closer to him. "It was a few weeks before my parents noticed anything. We were fighting and my eyes changed. My mother screamed and daddy got the shot gun."

"I'm so sorry Sookie." He hadn't realzied what had happened to her. Seeing a werewolf would be startling... but not enough to pull a gun on your own daughter. "Then you ran away..."

"Had no choice. I ran to the woods and waited for dark. Then I snuck back into the house and grabbed a few things. I haven't seen home in about three years. none of my friends or anyone." she buried her face in the pillow. It had been so long since she thought of Carol. It hurt to do so.

He smiled and he could feel his own hunger.
She sniffed again wiped her eyes. She nodded and curled into him. She didn't think she could have shared that with anyone else.

He held her and nuzzled her gently. He started to hum softly.

After a bit of his humming she was calm again. She looked up at him, just listening to him hum.
