Hello everyone. I have been playing the clarinet since 4th grade and I am currently a sophomore in college. My mom used to be a clarinet player (so were most women who played instruments on my mom's side of the family). I also met some friends in marching band who play clarinet (while I am in color guard).

I used to play clarinet for about two years, but, I sought opportunity elsewhere... -somewhere deeper and lower, but still in the clarinet family. I don't think I would trade my baby for anything. Yet, even if my bass clarinet is amazing, I still long for the days where I could play screaming high, pretty licks with a normal clarinet. Because, honestly? My music is boring now. But I love it all the same.

I've played clarinet for 3 years. Next year I'll have to choose to either be in the marching band or quit playing clarinet. I love playing clarinet but I'm not to sure that i want to march. Any ideas of what I should do? confused

I love playing clarinet but I'm not to sure that i want to march. Any ideas of what I should do? confused At my school i know some kids that dont march and come into concert band after they play the scales for my bad teacher. after the scales are played they are place in the concert or symphany band. depending on how good they are.
