One of the lackies threw two pokeballs out and in a flash of light a Numel and a Murkrow appeared. "Well this one wants to battle with two pokemon, well then Squirt, Spike, you're up. Spike use thunder shock on the Murkrow and Squirt, water pulse the Numel." The two Pokemon nodded and launched their attacks. The Murkrow was pretty fast and dodged the thundershock flew down and used wing attack on Electrike, which did catch him a little. The Sonar blast hit the Numel dead on and caused it to faint. The grunt threw out another pokeball, this time with a Poochenna in it. Michael thought what should be done and formulated a strategy. "Squirt use skull bash on the Poochenna and Spike try thundershock again on the Murkrow." The two Pokemon complied with the order given. This time the thundershock hit the Murkrow and caused it to faint. The Poochenna saw its chance to attack the Squirtle and made a successful take down on Squirtle. Right after it hit Squirt launched the Skull Bash and being the opponernt damaged itself with the take down fainted from the high velocity bash. The grunt knew he only had one left and threw out a Houndour. The enemy came out and launched an ember at the Electrike but missed and was met with a Spark and a Water Pulse. The combined fury of the moves caused the Houndour to faint ad well. "Take that.

The Team Flare grunt growled at Rei.

"Stay out of our way! You're getting in the way of a beautiful new world!"

Rei looked the grunt over. He somehow doubted that.

"Yami, come on out. Let's get rid of this fool." His Scyther leaped out from the Pokéball and assumed a battle pose. The grunt smirked and sent out her Croagunk.

"Yami, Double Team." The Scyther began to make false copies of itself, surrounding the Croagunk. Unfazed, the Croagunk began taunting the Scyther, pulling no punches. It criticized its mother, questioned its fighting ability, and claimed that pirates were clearly superior to ninjas.

Honor-bound Yami would have none of that. The Scyther immediately stopped circling the poisonous frog and slashed out at it. The nerve of the thing! Croagunk took the slash in stride and used the pain as a focus for its attack, punching Yami square in the jaw. Yami kept his ground, digging his clawed feet into the dirt, and with glowing wings, does a spinning Wing Attack. The Croagunk, not expecting such swift retaliation, gets knocked to the floor easily. Croagunk's unprotected belly received a series of lightning-quick slashes, and it did not get back up.

The grunt recalled her Croagunk, replacing it with her Houndour. Yami wasted no time slashing the Houndour's face, striking an eye for a critical hit. However, it left him vulnerable to any attacks.

"Houndour, Flamethrower!" The canine blasted flames at the Scyther, the fire burning every inch of the Scyther's body. The Bug-type Pokémon collapsed, unable to continue fighting. Rei frowned. One of his only Pokémon naturally resistant to fire had been effectively gnawed on by a Sandile. He pulled out another Pokéball.

"Leviathan, come on out. Brine, and aim for the cuts." The Horsea blasted a shotgun-spray of salty water at the opposing Houndour, the salt causing extra pain. Houndour passed out from the blast, finding sweet relief in the blackness.

"Aargh! This can't be happening! Zubat, go!" In desperation, the grunt sent out her last Pokémon. Rei recalled his Horsea; he knew his Zubat wanted to prove superiority. She could never back down a Zubat battle in a cave.

"Go on, Countess. Confuse Ray." The Zubat sent out her devious ray before the enemy had the chance to do the same. The enemy Zubat, dazed, attempted to bite down on the Countess, but in its confusion, bit down on a hard rock instead, injuring its jaw. The Countess took the opportunity to strike against the Zubat, using razor-sharp wind to cut gashes on the opponent's wings. The enemy Zubat screeched in pain, dislodged itself from the rock, and dove after the Countess.

The two battled it out in the air for a while, exchanging blows and making an ear-splitting racket in the process. Finally, the Countess won the battle with a blade of air flinching the opposing Zubat, and making an immediate follow-up swooping attack. The grunt fell to the floor, cradling her Zubat.

"My Pokémon! You monster!" She fled to the entrance of the cave, abandoning her partners.

Rei attempted to catch one, but missed. His Zubat, the Countess, swooped in and caught one for him.

He looked down at the rock. It had a greenish tint, and seemed to have an impression of a sail.

"Huh. Wonder what this is. Never seen it in Hoenn."

Michael tried to catch it but it bounced from his hands to Squirts head, to Spike's back to Dracos, hand where it finally was caught. All the fumbling around caused the dirt to come off enough to see which fossil it was. "Ehh might not be what I wanted, but it will be a new friend right y'all." The pokemon all agreed. He looked down at his skull fossil and wondered what would happen next.

While the team shared their findings, a distant rumble was heard. At the entrance of the cave, a Rhyhorn riot seemed to be brewing. A Team Flare grunt had attacked the Rhyhorn waiting outside the cave, sweeping them up into a frenzy. The Rhyhorn collectively rammed against the grunt's Rhydon, while the Rhydon flung its inferiors against the cave entrance's wall. The Rhyhorns all charged at the dangerous foe, trying to take him down at once.

The grunt grinned. They had fallen for it! He quickly recalled his Rhydon, and watched as the stampeding Rhyhorns smashed headfirst into the cave's wall. The crystals shuddered, and delicately balanced crystals swayed and crashed to the ground. The Rhyhorns scrambled to get to safety, damaged but alive. The Flare grunt laughed.

"Stupid Rhyhorn. They're so easy to predict. Rhydon, come back out and finish sealing this cave. I'm sure everyone else inside stupid enough to be bogged down by a couple of lousy trainers is either undeserving of being part of Team Flare or has a Pokémon to get them out." His Rhydon still looked worried, and cried with uneasiness.

The grunt shouted at his disobedient Pokémon. "I didn't ask for your opinion! I don't care if you're worried! Seal the cave! We were just about done with it, anyways. Stone Edge, now!"

The Rhydon did as he was told, and made a thick, jagged wall of stone spear upwards from the ground. They crunched against the remaining overhanging crystals before settling to a stop. The Rhyhorns roared in anger; the cave was not only filled with an ecosystem of Pokémon and their main food source, but it also had humans within! They turned against the Rhydon and continued their assault.

The Flare member sent out his second Pokémon, a Tentacruel. "Use Surf. Get rid of these Rhyhorn. They could be the only thing to bring down this wall." While his Pokémon battled against the group of Rhyhorn, he sent out his final Pokémon, an Arcanine.

"Flamethrower. They can't survive for long in an oxygen-deprived cave, now, can they?"

Maddy was a little startled as the cave began shaking and collapsing around them.
"Uhhh... Good thing I brought my Alakazam?"
She let said Pokemon out.
"Teleport us to our new temporary home, will ya?"
Tiresias nodded and there was a flash. Everybody arrived outside of the Cyllage City Hotel.
Maddy sighed as she was welcomed by a warm salty breeze coming in off the sea.
She turned to her allies.
"Sorry, guys. I had to resort to booking out another hotel for us for the time being." She frowned a little, obviously not too proud of her decision.

Allen felt the rumbling at the opening of the cave, "What was that??" Allen whipped toward the entrance of the cave before they all went up in a bright flash of light. Allen's head spun around and around. for a minute, "Ugh... I hate being teleported..." He put his hands on his knees for a while to help himself not vomit. "At least I'll have a better bed to sleep in tonight."
