It had hardly been a few hours until she decided that it was just too boring to be at the Pokemon Center by herself. Swinging her legs off the Pokemon Center's bed she got up, only feeling a bit sore. All of her errands were done and she soon felt like she needed some company. Maybe Kilik was still around, though she thought it'd be a bit awkward seeing him considering what had just happened.

Mitsu stretched once off the bed. "Suppose we should get to know each other better," Mitsu said fishing around her bag for Lucario's Pokeball. "I should get one of those Pokeball belts too," she muttered to herself after a minute of searching. After successfully finding the ball she threw it up and the Steel type appeared. "Master," he greeted with a slight bow, one paw over the spike in his chest.

"Mitsu," she replied. "Please just call me Mitsu."

Lucario paused, thinking for an appropriate reply. "I would be much more comfortable addressing you as Master, Master."

Mitsu sighed, giving in for now. Perhaps once they were better acquainted then he'd call her Mitsu. "Anyways, let's go get that belt." The cool air hit her face as she stepped into the store. That rush was always something she loved about air conditioned buildings, especially the Pokemon Centers and Pokemarts. She quickly maneuvered her way to the belt area. She knew her way around quite well and the store's management hadn't decided to move things around in a while. She had always found it irritating to have to learn the layout of the huge, multi-floor department store over and over again.

She settled for a dark purple belt. The color was much darker than the purple fabrics that consisted of her outfit at the moment. It meshed well, however, despite the difference in hue. She slapped down the payment on the counter before securing around her waist. It hung a bit loosely on the right side, so the belt was slanted, dipping a bit lower on the right.

She took a moment, okay a few minutes, to search her bag to locate all six of her Pokeballs. Upon doing so she clipped them all to her belt, making sure to remember who was where. Her most reliable members were clipped on the right hip, that being said Karri, Ivy, and Ebony rested on the three closest slots whereas Nightmare, Sapphire, and Lucario were placed on the left hip.

Once all of that business was taken care of she exited the building in hopes of finding someone she knew. People had to be here right? The boat to Sinnoh was leaving the next day, there had to be someone she knew.

At Horsea's determined look Robin let out a laugh impressed and felt the new fire in her burn a little brighter. "Haha! What a determined look! It makes my spirit burn even brighter!" Ah Robin was really enjoying her burning determination, even if she lost here it would still have been a great time. Still the Bubbles that the Horsea was shooting while pretty Robin had seen how much they hurt before. Unfortunately for her and Brook, the small Hoppip could stay out of the water but he couldn't control his floating very well. So basically the poor pokemon was just a floating target in the sky. "Hang in there Brook!" Robin shouted up at him.

In the air Brook just watched with dark eyes as the bubbles flew up into air and slammed into his light body. Even if he was resistant to water type attacks that didn't mean it didn't hurt! Also Brook didn't have the best defense, or attack, or really any outstanding stats.

"It's all right Brook I know you can take the attacks." Robin called as she wondered what to do now. There was no way she could order Brook to Tackle the Horsea, they couldn't see the darn thing and plus Brook really couldn't go in the water. "Oooooh, I dunno what to do! Lets just go back to what we were gunna do before! Brook use your Poison Powder on the water! I don't care if its not a good idea!" Robin called out.

What? Poison Powder the water? Well... that didn't sound like the best idea but Brook was gunna trust Robin. She seemed to know what she was doing now. Doing his best to ignore the pain in his small body he launched himself back into the air. When he was up at the peak of his jump Brook started to shake his body letting purple powder spill from his leafy sides.

Well now that his business with the other trainer done Dante just looked down at Hera and the two shared a look before Dante shrugged. Deciding that he needed it Dante reached into his pocket pulled out his pack of cigarettes and lighter he took one out and lit it up. Putting his pack away he took a calming intake of smoke before exhaling into the sky. He would probably need to pick up a few more packs from his PC soon, that had been a great idea to store them in there. That taken care of Dante decided to just wonder around until he found the gala thing.

Walking through the sea side town Dante enjoyed the refreshing sea breeze with his pokemon by his side. As he walked by one of the many shops here he spotted a somewhat familiar purple head. Stopping for a moment he saw that she had one of the new pokemon by her side, Lucario or something. Humming somewhat Dante watched her for a moment before shrugging and heading over to where she was. He was sure his little sister wouldn't mind some company, behind him Hera followed happy to be out in the nice air to.

"Well, I didn't expect to see you so soon little sister." Dante said with an easy smile on his face.

Mitsu coughed. Ugh the smell of smoke, she thought to herself. Granted she knew a lot of people who took a smoke or two, even Touya had one from time to time, but she still disliked the smell of it. The scent was just so unpleasing. She turned around to find the source, though she was surprised to see something, or rather someone, much better than she'd expected.

"Big brother!" she nearly screamed giving the boy a huge hug before he could refuse. She tried to limit her squeezing as not to crush the boy, though with her small frame there wasn't much of a threat. A bright smile appeared on her face, one that hadn't been there in quite a while. Even though the two weren't actually related she was still exceptionally close with the boy who had rescued her from the Rockets pre-Cherry Blossom festival. She was quite fond of their little nicknames as well and Dante was more of a big brother in her eyes than her adopted brother Touya.

Mitsu had seen Dante not too long ago when he had given her Apollo, but that visit had been so short. In some part of her mind she feared that this meeting would have a fleeting nature as well, as most meetings with Dante had been since his decision to be an envoy of the legendary Pokemon. But maybe this time would be different her new outlook encouraged her to think, just maybe.

"What are you doing in Lilycove?" she asked almost automatically. It wasn't long before she noticed the Pokemon behind him. "A Heracross, right?" she asked not entirely one hundred percent sure that she had the right Pokemon. "Wait," she paused, "why, . . .no, how are you a trainer again?" She couldn't help it, the questions that is, she just hoped that Dante wouldn't mind too much. The proverb "Curiosity killed the Skitty" never had really sunken in.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 12, 2009 2:14 pm

Dante had not expected such an 'attack' from Mitsu, first she had assaulted his poor ears with her screech and then she had tried to crush him. Ok so maybe he wasn't the manliest of men but still he could have sworn she had almost squeezed the life out of him. "Gah, calm down Mitsu! I am not leaving anytime soon! I think anyway." Still even after the attack he was very happy to see her. At her question though he took the cancer stick out of his mouth and sighed. "Yeah that is a Heracross. " He said simply before taking one last drag from his cancer stick before pulling out a small silver container and slipped the cigarette he was done with inside of it.

"As for your other question, the all mighty powers that be decided that I can't be an envoy if I wasn't a trainer. After all how could I relate?" You could hear a bit of bitterness in his calm voice.

'Now now don't be mad at us!'

'Hey, I will be mad all I want to be. And what did I say about being inside my head?'
Dante shot back tiredly.

"Anyway, they sent me back out here and so here I am. Lovely isn't it? If I didn't know better I would say someone was messing with me." He paused for a second before shaking his head. "Sorry about letting my frustration out on you Mitsu. You don't need that. Anyway how have you been? I know I just saw you but we didn't really get to talk."

Needless to say she was glad that he'd finally snuffed out the cigarette, the noxious fumes would soon disappear too. She breathed a sigh of relief before sheepishly apologizing, "Sorry 'bout that. Just excited to see you," she replied with a soft laugh. There was always something about the boy that seemed to make her feel more at ease. It was why she loved thinking of him as her big brother. He'd always been there for her even if he was far away.

"It's all right," Mitsu said with a nod. "I don't mind listening, and if not now you can always tell me what's up later." She paused once more, "Though I'm sure you know that by now." Mitsu gave him a reassuring smile, hoping that would make him feel somewhat better. And if he's a trainer again I'm sure he'll want Apollo. After all, they belong together.

Mitsu sighed, "Well as for me, I'm finding out that I've got some freak healing power, I'd show you but I have no idea how to control it, went to the Slateport 'event' (she air quoted here for mock emphasis), and spent the last day wandering around town with Kilik. Nothing too interesting, right?" She laughed at the irony in her statement. There wasn't much that she felt like hiding from Dante. He was one of the few people who knew the most about her. Her best friends Kasiya and Mike weren't even aware about her powers, at least not to her knowledge. Somewhere in the back of her mind she laughed at the though that Mike, well Mike meaning the sane half of him, wouldn't quite appreciate the quality time she'd been spending with Kilik either.

Well, she didn't hide anything except that. That horrid event from so long ago. She had refused to believe it herself, that is until the recent events which all too gladly pulled the muck from locked areas in her mind back to the surface. All the thoughts swirled in her mind like an insane whirlpool. Closing her eyes, Mitsu could feel the oncoming of a headache. Just shove those useless thoughts back where they belong, she told herself before drawing her attention back to Dante.

"So yeah," Mitsu began again, "Just waiting for the boat ride to Sinnoh. Are you doing the same?"
PostPosted: Sun Jul 12, 2009 2:56 pm

"Healing power eh?" He paused and thought about that for a second. "Just look out, powers tend to turn out to be more of a curse then a blessing." That was all he was going to say about that. He was sure that she didn't want to have a spectacle made of herself. "Actually I am here on business, sorta. I am going to help my mom in the breeders gala that is going on. He paused for a second looking over at Mitsu before deciding to ask. "You wanna come along? I am sure it will at least be interesting." Ok he wasn't sure but he did want to go anyway, the thought of commissioning either a Turtwig or a Charmander sounded pretty good. Sure it would take a few days for him to get even an egg of whatever he decided on and then he would have to hatch that. Still he was patient and it was all in all pretty interesting for him.

"I do need to go to Sinnoh as well. I went there before to meet up with the other legendary pokemon but I do need to make the formal journey over there. I won't be able to be considered the formal Sinnoh legendary emissary until I make a journey there that isn't done by teliport. I dunno the details of it. They just told me to be on the boat so that's what I am going to do." Half the time he didn't understand why they told him to do half the things they made him do but it wasn't exactly his place to question them. Plus it saved him a headache if he just did as he was told, its not like he could refuse them even if he wanted to.

"So anyway, you wanna go to the Breeders Gala with me?" Dante asked holding a hand out to Mitsu with a small smile on his face.

At his feet Hera was looking up at the new girl with a curious if friendly look on her face. She liked this new person, apperently she was also her charges little sister. If they were family then it was also her job to protect her to! Then again that strong if strange looking pokemon at her side looked like it could do a good job of that.

"You're telling me. It hasn't done much other than almost kill me a few times," she replied, waving her hand in a manner that seemed to dismiss the subject as trifling. It was hardly that, but still, she didn't feel the need to go more in dept than that. If he wanted to know then he'd asked. That's how things worked with them, and it was an efficient system.

Mitsu smiled, "I'd love too." She took his hand in acceptance. "As brother and sister of course," she added with a small laugh. It was probably some high class gathering, she guessed. Why else would they give it such a fancy name, well, it was fancy to her anyways.

Her smile turned to a small frown as she thought. "I don't have a dress or anything," she said after a moment's thought. "Well I'm assuming that I'm going to have to wear a dress." She didn't have a problem with it, wearing a dress that is. Just the fact stood, she didn't have one, and she sure didn't have the money for one either. She'd nearly spent all her money at the local department store in the last few days.

Lucario eyed the Heracross, sizing her up before dismissing the Pokemon altogether. She wasn't a threat to his trainer so there was no need to exchange words.

Dante was glad for just a moment when she said she would go, that was until she mentioned that they would have to dress up. Pulling a frown at that Dante gave her a not to pleased look. "Lets just hope we don't have to dress up. If we do I am sure my mom can take care of it." He muttered. "I really hate dressing up."

Well before they could really think of dressing up they had to find the gala. "Hmm do you have any idea where this thing is? Ah hold on why don't I just give my mom a call." Why didn't he think of this before? Reaching into his bag he pulled out his cell phone and dialed Violets number.

"Hello hello!" Came Violets cheery voice from her end.

"Ah hello Mom, I made it to Lilycove but I have no idea how to get to the Gala thing. Also do you think that you could get Mitsu in with us to? I just met up with her here."

"Oh of course I can get Mitsu in. I get free passes as one of the members. The Gala itself is in the Contest Hall. See you soon honey!"

"Thanks for the help." Even though she hadn't answered his dressing up question he could at least find her now. Hanging up he slipped the pokenavi into his pocket and grinned over at Mitsu. "She said it was in the contest hall. All we need to do is head over there and we should find it."

The Rhyhorn became suddenly agile, leaping out of the way of the jet of water. This girl had to be feeding the Rhyhorn alot of Carbos, which meant she was really rich. If she was that rich, she could be buying TM's left and right. Sam had to be prepared. The armored rhino slid to a stop near the edge of the roof. Sam, not wanting to send the pokemon to it's death, waited for it to come nearer.

"Star, Growl. We're not going to waste this turn." Star rolled her eyes. That move was utterly useless! But she complied, growling fiercely at the Spikes pokemon. The Rhyhorn recovered, and took a few steps forward. It charged forward.

"Shay, Stomp!" The Rhyhorn jumped up, and, with it's 200 lb. weight behind it, stuck it's foot out and stomped on Star's tail end. She struggled to get away, but only succeeded in making her look like one of those Tom and Jerry cartoons when Jerry's tail was trapped under Tom's paw. "Good, now while you're there, Shock Wave." Electricity crackled in the air as the Rhyhorn gathered energy. Star still struggled. Sam knew this was it. Shock Wave was unavoidable, and it would be super-effective. But she could make it much easier for Miles.

"Star, Water Gun! Before you get hit!" Star hastily turned around and shot a jet of compressed water into the Rhyhorn's face. It fell backwards, releasing Star's tail. It released the electricity, a sudden bolt homing in on Star. Sam closed her eye's, as did Star. This was going to sting...It hit her like...well like a bolt of lightning. She felt it coursing through her body, and she cried out in pain. Sam opened her eyes slightly at the sound. Star was trying to stand up, but she couldn't. She had barely enough energy to remain conscious, let alone fight. Sam recalled her, and quickly sent Miles out. Luckily, the Rhyhorn seemed to be wearing down, so hopefully she wouldn't have to deal with it much longer.

"Miles, Low Kick." This was quickly becoming his signature move. Deciding to show off, Miles quickly executed a front handspring and, upon landing, swiped his leg underneath the rhino's belly, bringing it's feet out from under it. It landed legs splayed out, eyes closing. The girl recalled it, and sent out the Treecko. It came out swinging, accidentally punching a bench in the process. As it held it's now bruised hand, it saw Miles. A rage burned inside him. It was like they were born to be rivals. Miles felt similarly. They circled each other for a few moments, before launching with battle cries. They both missed, much to the amusement of their trainer's. The Treecko rolled into a ball, softening it's landing and landing near one of the vending machines. Miles was not so lucky. He attempted the same manuever, but landed near the edge of the roof. He stood, but lost his balance, nearly tumbling over the edge. He hooked his prehensile tail around a small ridge. He hung upside down off the building. He found it utterly exhilirating and terrifying at the same time. Sam, realizing he was in mortal danger, rushed forward to haul him back up. 'Why me? Why do I have this luck?' she thought to herself, half-angrily. The other trainer had also rushed forward to help. She held his tail, which Miles did not appreciate. He tried to climb his own tail, attempting to scratch the trainer's face. She yanked him up by the tail, and held him there as Sam finally reached the edge. She saw how the trainer was handling Miles, and was furious.

"Hey! What are you doing?! Put him down." The girl looked at her with a raised eyebrow and set him down. He bounced up, still ready to fight.

"Jeez, what's your problem? He failed, he should be punished. I thought all trainer's knew that," she sneered.

"You don't discipline by torture! What crazy world do you live in?!" Sam recalled Miles, ending the battle before it got worse. The girl grabbed her Treecko by it's tail, and dragged it out the door. Sam watched her go, and waited a few minutes before exiting herself. She went down the flights of stairs until she reached the lobby. Orion was there waiting for her.

"Hey, where were you? I've been waiting for 20 minutes." Sam didn't feel much like talking.

"Big whoop. Let's just go." He grabbed her arm as she tried to walk out the door. She threw his arm off.

"Whoa, what happened? You lose a battle or something?"

"No! I was in a battle, and then Miles almost fell off the edge of the building! The other trainer saved him, but instead of giving him back, she held him upside down by his tail, yanking him up and down...she was hurting him! Why do people do this?!" She broke off abruptly, realizing she was making a scene. She walked out the doors, and Orion followed.

"Was it a girl? With blonde hair? Did she have a Treecko?" Sam nodded. Orion scowled. "I saw her doing the same thing to that poor Treecko. I don't know why people do this, but you have a right to be angry. Come on, let's just go get your pokemon healed, and forget all about this. Remember, we have the Gala tonight. Want to look our best and be happy? I found out where it is by the way. It's down by the warehouse, in the Contest Hall. So we'll be by the sea, which I know you like. Homesick?" Sam smiled slightly, a little bit happier with the subject.

"A little. Cianwood was so much smaller then this city...but they're both close to the sea. So it makes me feel close to home." Orion nodded.

"This is one of the largest cities in all the regions. By the way, you said something about the pharmacy when we were in Pewter. What's that about?" Sam remembered her pills on her bedside table.

"Oh yeah...we need to go there." A little while later, they left the pharmacy with her Zoloft and Xanax in hand, and a nice heated debate with the pharmacist about not having parental permission fresh in their minds. It was time to get ready for the Gala.

A lighthearted chuckle found it's way from Mitsu's lips. She couldn't help but laugh at Dante's groan. He, for some strange reason, didn't exactly like dressing up. Yet he often had a new hair cut or change of clothes whenever she saw him. Speaking of which, she remembered his hair being white back when they had traveled together in Jhoto and the Tin Tower. Kenny was with them at that time too. She missed the little guy, he had been one of Mitsu's favorites on Dante's now old team.

"The Contest Hall, eh?" Mitsu replied. She'd rarely been there herself despite her many trips to Lilycove with the twins. It was a big place and usually fancy or weirdly dressed people were walking in and out of said establishment. It would make sense to have the Breeder's Gala there or so she reasoned to herself anyways.

The two continued to walk, now just leaving the higher part of the port that the department store was located on. Not much longer had she gone before she spotted a familiar yellow-shirted character. Kilik! "Hey Dante, do you think we can get Kilik into the gala too?" Mitsu asked before she paused to reconsider, "That is, if he wants to go." At the moment he seemed to be battling alongside a familiar blond. . ."Kasiya!" Mitsu said with surprise in her voice. She wasn't expecting to see the girl so soon.

The last time she'd seen her was at the Slateport event. Hopefully she isn't all screwy in the head like Mike now, she thought. Her thought, however, wasn't malignant, in fact it was almost cheerful. She gave the two, who seemed to be partaking in a double battle, a small wave.

"How you doing over there kid, ever put up a tent before?" Rogar inquired.
"Of course, I use to go on fishing trips with my dad all the time." Breaker start to describe all the time him and his father have spent together.
"That's great kid, but it's dinner time. Since your a fisher, I assume you can filet this fish for me." Rogar asked challengingly."
Of course pass it over here." Breaker said happily. "So how many pokemon do you have?"
"Well theres that Lunatone now, my Nuzleaf of course, and a Magmar. I started out with Nuzleaf."
"Wow how did you find a Magmar around these parts?" Breaker asked inquistively.
"Oh, I didn't I traded some kid in Slateport for a Gyarados."
"You traded your pokemon...don't you miss him." Breaker was surprised that someone could just trade a pokemon away like that.
"It's fine I caught the Gyarados that same day. I was walkin down the beach when I noticed some kid fishing, but he caught more than he was looking for." Rogar recalled."He managed to hook the Gyarados with his fathers fishing rod. The kid was a little over his head so I went and gav him a hand."
Breaker proped an eyebrow. "You always around hen people need help, you some kind of super hero." He said jokingly.
"Closer than you'll ever be kid." Rogar jabbed back. "Anyways main point is the story is I helped the kid, caught the Gyarados, and than some guy said he would like to trade me for his Magmar. Now I know why too, the thing is pretty stubborn, so I haven't really gotten alot of battling in with him yet." Rogar unhooked the pokeball from his belt and looked at it with annoyance.
"Well how 'bout a battle than, I need more practice, and maybe it will help out your relationship with him." Breaker had a promising and hopeful look to his face, if he could pass this idea off he could get some more practice in before he got to Rustboro. "Im going to take on the Gym leader, and it would help a lot you know."
Rogar looked up at breaker. "Alright kid, your on. But if you get burned it's not my fault." He warned with a smirk.
"Sweet! Let's go than." He said as he reached for Reveries pokeball.
"I don't think so kid, in the morning we will, but right now you've got to let your pokemon rest, or your bound to wear her out to much." Rogar seemed to show a genuin concern for Reverie's well being. "So hurry up with that fish, I'm hungry."
"It's already done, just needs to be cooked." Passing the fillets to Rogar.
"Good, than let's eat." Rogar threw the fillets down with eagerness.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 13, 2009 3:24 pm

The sun was rising, and birds could be heard in the distance. It was morning at last. Breaker awoke to the noise of shuffling outside the tent. Poking his head out he was surprised to see Rogar already awake and packing up. "Come on boy, get up, we've gotta get movin'." Rogar seemed in a bit of a rush. "Oh I thought we were going to do that battle." Breaker asked knowing the answer should be a yes. "Oh yes, I forgot about that. Well pack up the tent and we'll see what I can do." With that Breaker got dressed and packed the tent up in record time. "Go Reverie. You ready old man." Breaker was enjoying this new found friendship. "Hehe, alright kid, bring it on. Go on Magmar." Magmar came out of the pokeball with a raised chin. "Magmar." He said blowing smoke into Rogars face. "Hey come on, I promised this kid a battle." Rogar coughed.

"Move it losers real men are coming through." Two children ran between the two pokemon without even a glance back.

"Hey watch it you brats!" Breaker yelled back at them. They both stopped and turned. The two boys were dressed very similar. "You two twins or something." Breaker stated trying to poke fun at there similar wardrobes.

"Actually yes, moron, and you better watch it, cause your messing with Tim and Tom now. Or as we prefer 'TNT'." The first boy said cockily. "Ya, once the fuse is lit, its only a matter of time you go down in a burst of flames." The second boy said slugishly. "GO!" They both yelled together as they released a playful ponyta and a slugish slakoth.

"Are you challenging us...you my boys, have just made the biggest mistake of your life." Rogar laughed in the face of the boys.

"What are you going to do with those two pathetic pokemon. Talk about pathetic eh bro." Tim Taunted.

Reverie looked in shock at the pokemon that had just been thrown infront of her. The ponyta seemed very intimidating to her. While on the other hand Magmar lower his chin and gave an evil glare to the two boys. "MAG!" He yelled as he clenched his fists. "Thats right magmar, as long as we stick together we can take these punks." Rogar just shook his head at Breakers attempt to put a positive spin on the situation, but Rogar knew Magmar was not going to listen to a word he said.

Serenity came down the stairs of her parents old home after a two hour nap. Her and Alex had continued to discuss the events of the previous day, but after about twenty minutes she had found that she could no longer keep her eyes open. She had headed up to her old room and crashed on the bed. When she made her way back down to the kitchen the clock let her know that it was now close to four in the afternoon. She had slept for nearly three hours. 'Well, I guess I needed it then.'

"Hey sleepy head." Alex said. Her older sister popped up at the screen door in the kitchen causing Sere to jump. "Jumpy much?" She laughed.

Serenity growled at her. "I just woke up. You know b-better than that." She said.

Alex only nodded. "Well now that you're up, you can get dressed. The gala starts soon."

Serenity looked confused. "What Gala?" She vaguely remembered hearing something about it from the two on the boat, but it wasn't as though she was fully invested in overhearing what the two of them had to say.

"The breeder's Gala silly. How could you forget? You promised to go with me months ago." Alex entered the kitchen and gave her little sister a small shove. It jostled Sere's arm enough for the girl to remember the injuries from the day before. "Although, you'll need a bit more make up than I will. I can't have you walking in all black and blue."

Serenity bent to check herself in the shiny surface of the toaster. She thought she actually looked better than she did when she had gotten up this morning and scoffed at her sister. "I-I do not need any make up. Plus, I don't really feel in the mood to go to a party."

Alex growled at her. "Then again, maybe I do?" Sere corrected. Alex smiled.

"That's my girl. I bought you a dress. It' hanging up in mom's closet." Alex said. She started to move around the kitchen, getting out pots and pans and such. "Are you going to be okay with some mac and cheese tonight? I can do it up special with tomatoes?"

Sere couldn't help but notice that her sister still looked a bit worried. She wondered if Alex would let her leave for Sinnoh at all tomorrow after what had happened yesterday. Sere knew her sister would never say it but, the attack yesterday was something that she had never wanted for Sere.

Hitmonchan was far to busy defending against the previous attack to counter Blaziken's next move. He managed to turn and face her with arms half raised, but that was all he could manage before being met with Blaziken's mighty kick. The first swipe hit hard and knocked Hitmonchan's fists away from their guard, the second his him square on and and sent him spinning to the floor where the Punching Pokemon only barely managed to get his fists out in front to catch himself. He sat there breathing heavily as he stared down his opponent, she was fast and she looked determined. But that didn't deter Hitmonchan one bit, he was a fighting pokemon with an undying spirit and Brawly's last line of defense against the challenger. No matter what, he would not lose to this pokemon, not before giving it his all and having no regrets. Brawly looked on at Hitmonchan as well as at Jaeshan. "You raised your pokemon well, I always get totally stoked when I get to see a pokemon evolve! But that burst of power is really just adrenaline from the quick change in battle, guess you already know that though. Heh, but now's not the time I guess. Hitmonchan, knock that fire bird into next week with Sky Uppercut!" Hitmonchan did not get up, but instead he remained close to the ground as he sprinted towards Blaziken, his right arm surging with power as he closed in, throwing the mighty uppercut with terrible force and even leaving the ground with the follow through.

Above all else...

After recalling the Machop back into it's Pokeball, Travis skulked around until he saw the shops opening. First order of business-food, the second, a haircut and dye job. he thought to himself as a determined look settled onto his face. Across the street from where he standing a locally owned grocery store was just opening up--a tiny old woman pushed open the front door and propped a heavy pot of marigolds against it to keep it open. The sign flipped and she went back inside, grey bun bobbing as she shuffled along. Travis wiped his sweaty palms on his bluejeans and tugged the rim of the cap down low over eyes then went across the street, entering quietly behind the woman.

The old lady went to the back of the store and started sweeping the floor while Travis hastily shopped, filling a basket with provisions for himself and his Pokemon. Lots of dry trail food, fruit juice packets, Pokemon food, a canteen for water and a collapsable bowl and cup went into the basket on Travis' arm in a matter of minutes. As he headed for the cash he added in a couple of power bars just in case then placed the basket on the counter, pulling his cap extra low over his blue eyes and tell-tale purple hair. The old woman saw him and put her broom aside, toddled up to the cash and peered at him through her thick glasses.

"Well goodmornin', sonny." she said in a shakey, high pitched voice as she began to tally up his purchases on a sheet of paper. Her wrinkled ancient hands seemed barely able to hold the pen and Travis could barely make out the names of what he'd bought. She looked up at him again and stopped writing, her mouth opening and closing.
This is it, I'm done for! he thought, hands clenching into fists and swallowing the sharp stab of fear in his throat.
"Say, don't I know you?" she asked, leaning on her tiptoes against the counter. Her rheumy eyes blinked several times.
"Um, no, no I don't think so." he stammered, several plans flashing through his mind; take the supplies and run, tie her up and gag her, leave some money and run...
"I'm sure I've seen you somewhere...on the television!" The old woman exclaimed excitedly, pointing a finger at him. Travis looked about, thankful noone else was in the shop yet. "You're that rockstar! I knew I'd seen that purple hair somewhere!" She stated and did a little dance step, hopping from one foot to another. "Oooh, wait till I tell the ladies at the mahjong club! Eeehe he he!'

Travis was dumbfounded for a second then pounced on the oppertunity. "Oh yeah, of course! You're a smart lady; why did I think I could hide my true identity from you!" He said smoothly and gave her a charming smile. "Me and the guys just got in for a big concert and were kinda hungry. I'd really appreciate it though if you didn't tell anyone that you saw me. The show is supposed to be a big surprise." To finish the act he winked, causing the old lady's cheeks to rapidly turn pink as she placed both palms against them, her mouth open in a little 'o' of surprise.

"Of course! Oooh, you have nothing to worry about! I'll take the secret to my grave!" She crossed one hand over her heart and nodded seriously, then bent her head to finish the bill. Travis nodded back with a charming grin plastered across his face and cheerfully paid for his purchases when she handed him the slip of paper. After stuffing the packages into his packsack he thanked her and left.
"You have a good day, sonny!" She called out, waving from the front door of her shop as he headed up the street. He turned halfway 'round and tipped his hat then went back to walking as fast as he could until he turned a corner and sank against the wall of an alley until his heart stopped thundering.

may you know joy
