Guarding yourself from the love of another Left you with nothing tonight Why does it sound like the devil is laughing Leaving me haunted tonight, you did decide
Now I want you, when you're gone and now it's like You're holding something just in front of me Well then, I can't allow this to become another One of those times that I'm left in the cold, dead There's no compromise just another tie I know I need to sever
Guarding yourself from the love of another Left you with nothing tonight Why does it sound like the devil is laughing Leaving me haunted tonight, you did decide
Ever haunted, by the trappings of this life Sweet redemption, just in front of me Well now, it seems once again that I've lost another One of the one's that have broke through the wall Damned fate won't compromise, I have sold my soul And now the devil's laughing, you did decide
You were bold and strong, and ready to begin your life All for nothing, you were sacrificed You began alone and so it will be when you die All for nothing, will you be remembered? You did decide
Guarding yourself from the love of another Left you with nothing tonight So now you know why the devil is laughing He left you with nothing tonight, you did decide

Just out in the alleys of the rukongai a strange portal opened, and through it came a visitor. Dressed in a three-piece suit, he sighed as the surroundings revealed themselves. The surrounding was not immediately familiar, but the sensations were. Charles knew this was the Soul Society. The problem was that he didn’t know precisely where. A simple uplink to his systems proved he was indeed in the same existence. What was worse was that he was in the poorer areas beyond the Seireitei. As some sort of likely cosmic joke, she had returned him to a poor area beyond the protection and viable ambiguity of the areas he should be in. Charles was left with a walk back to the divisions, and for a moment had considered going in shadows. The the idea struck him to go normally. The walk would do him good. The captain walked out into the light and simply strode towards the central presence of the Seireitei. Several people all around took notice of him. Some fainted from his power, others just kept their distance. In some ways, this was quite reassuring. He was power. Had he bothered to note the power levels, he would have been pleased to know his energy was almost that of the head captain at the moment. That kind of strength was respected, and dressed as a visitor instead of a captain made him a unique presence. Only the zanpaktou on his hip proved he was shimigami. Charles strode at a casual pace towards the towering white walls. As he did so the captain also began a search for the one person he didn’t know where to find. He knew Sasuga would not be hard to find. Contenmo and Margaret would not be here. That left Trip.
Unfortunately, the system could not find any trace of the alchemist. Trip had served another, and that was a problem. The other was not of the Seireitei, so there was little record except that the target had left. That made him frown deeply. The idea of approaching Trip was to appreciate somebody with the skills to reform material from given material. Trip had described alchemy as such, an ability to reform and reorganize material. Not transform it, but to reshape whatever is available. Repairing rifts would be quintessentially that. Still, the loss was not catastrophic. Charles remained the lynchpin of the proposed group. All that were there should at least be familiar with him, preferably trustworthy to an extent. Charles also was fond of the idea of balancing out his crew. As a member of the order and a captain of the Seireitei, he was in both worlds. Yidhra had asked for at least two hollows, that meant at least two Shimigami or similar should accompany him. Of course that raised the delicate issue of his relationship with Contenmo. Sasuga would be forced to help quickly once the rifts were closed. If the Maestro went back to Hueco Mundo and the person was not trustworthy . . . they could undermine his authority. The squad was most useful, and Charles was far from done using those resources. The argument could be made to advance further as it would give him more authority and that included the squad. Still, he liked being assured of success. Now was not the time to make his move. Soon, but not now. Instead, he had to gather his strength. As Charles approached the barrier of the Seireitei, he didn’t slow. The gate guardian moved to stop him. “I am Charles Takena, captain of squad 12, open the gate.” The guardian didn’t know what to make of the claim, but Charles held out his blade still in it’s sheath. A glare blatantly threatened to attack. The sword was proof of his status, and his energy signature was enough to show he was not hollow. The guard relented, albeit reluctantly. Perhaps he recognized that he was no match for the man in the suit. Regardless, the gate opened and he walked through without even looking back.
Charles did a quick search for Sasuga, and sure enough the location was easy to find. Sasuga was at the tea house, evidently with another. She looked familiar somehow . . . and a few moments later, he recognized her as from the ball. She and a teen Ikasu had a bit of a stir with a proposal, but that was all Charles had paid attention to. Ikasu was Sasuga’s son, perhaps that was some sort of meeting to iron out familial details. Regardless, that could wait. Family dynamics were secondary to this. Though he had no love for Yidhra, the benefits she offered were too good to turn down or postpone. The man made his way across the Seireitei with a few odd looks for his attire. When he approached the tea house, he sighed in satisfaction. He didn’t see Sasuga through a window yet, but he did see a familiar face. Mercy, or as he thought of her ‘unit MR-C’ was standing outside like a valet. She served Sasuga faithfully, and her presence only confirmed that Sasuga was inside. The captain walked up to her with a congenial nod to gain her attention. Once close, he spoke in almost polite terms. “I need to have a word with Sasuga. I assume he is inside? Please inform him that when he is ready, we need to chat.” Regardless of her actions from that point, he moved over near the door and stood in waiting. Sasuga would come out. The only questions were if he did so because he was summoned or done, and whether he was ready to leave or not. Either way, all that was left was to wait. That, and to prepare to come completely clean with Sasuga. With the impending purification of Contenmo, and the introduction of Margaret . . . Charles felt that Sasuga deserved to know everything.

Schism lyrics
I know the pieces fit 'cause I watched them fall away Mildewed and smoldering. Fundamental differing. Pure intention juxtaposed will set two lovers souls in motion Disintegrating as it goes testing our communication The light that fueled our fire then has burned a hole between us so We cannot see to reach an end crippling our communication.
I know the pieces fit 'cause I watched them tumble down No fault, none to blame it doesn't mean I don't desire to Point the finger, blame the other, watch the temple topple over. To bring the pieces back together, rediscover communication
The poetry that comes from the squaring off between, And the circling is worth it. Finding beauty in the dissonance.
There was a time that the pieces fit, but I watched them fall away. Mildewed and smoldering, strangled by our coveting I've done the math enough to know the dangers of our second guessing Doomed to crumble unless we grow, and strengthen our communication.
Cold silence has a tendency to atrophy any Sense of compassion Between supposed lovers Between supposed lovers
I know the pieces fit I know the pieces fit I know the pieces fit

46 & 2 Lyrics
My shadow's
Shedding skin and I've been picking Scabs again. I'm down Digging through My old muscles Looking for a clue.
I've been crawling on my belly Clearing out what could've been. I've been wallowing in my own confused, insecure delusions For a piece to cross me over Or a word to guide me in. I wanna feel the changes coming down. I wanna know what I've been hiding in
My shadow. Change is coming through my shadow. My shadow's shedding skin I've been picking My scabs again.
I've been crawling on my belly Clearing out what could've been. I've been wallowing in my own chaotic, insecure delusions.
I wanna feel the change consume me, Feel the outside turning in. I wanna feel the metamorphosis and Cleansing I've endured within
My shadow Change is coming. Now is my time. Listen to my muscle memory. Contemplate what I've been clinging to. Forty-six and two ahead of me.
I choose to live and to Grow, take and give and to Move, learn and love and to Cry, kill and die and to Be paranoid and to Lie, hate and fear and to Do what it takes to move through.
I choose to live and to Lie, kill and give and to Die, learn and love and to Do what it takes to step through.
See my shadow changing, Stretching up and over me. Soften this old armor. Hoping I can clear the way By stepping through my shadow, Coming out the other side. Step into the shadow. Forty six and two are just ahead of me.
