The rumbling began to subside, but Nathan was sure that he could see the ground moving slightly.

Nathan hesitated, then prepared to trace his Mystickers and move forward. Was there any other way? Could he swim or something?

He could swim, but that would require him to go quite a ways around and swim a long distance to the back. And there was no guarantee that there was a door or even a landing at the back.

With a sigh, Nathan continued forward, very carefully. Most likely there was a door on the back - it was the docks - but it was probably locked. Didn't mean it wouldn't come open easily enough with some good kicking, but it wasn't worth the effort... hopefully.

There was no rumbling this time. Nathan advanced a good 20 feet before it came back stronger than before, and huge thick vines burst out of the ground. They lashed out for Nathan. They were wickedly barbed.

"Oh -!" Nathan yelped, but didn't even have time to let off an expletive. He traced his Medusa Mysticker, doubting it would be effective but deciding it was worth a shot. As a backup he lit up his Fire Mysticker and started torching the vines, backpedaling very, very quickly. He was swimming, screw this.

With nothing to target, Medusa failed to work. The Fire Mysticker was rather more effective, but Nathan was surrounded. He had to think fast.

Nathan, desperate, determined that he just had to stop the things from coming near to him. He began to heat the air around him very rapidly, hoping to reach the combustion point of the vines. Furthermore, he began to duck and weave as best he could, hoping to get to the car and maybe fly away and come back shortly. Or at least get some attention.
((Can the car fly on water?))

Nathan's ploy succeeded only because his desperation provided him with excited energy. The vines around him burst into flames and Nathan made his way back a ways.
((No.))

Hmm... were the vines already burning, or were there more? If there were more, Nathan was definitely going to swim. He could swim that far.

Okay, forget it. Nathan would swim around the back and try to get in.
He moved around to the waterfront, tested the water, and prepared to jump in. He wasn't sure how far it was... would he need to abandon some of his clothing here?

It looked to be quite a way. More than 200 yards. He would have to ditch all his clothes to even have a hope.

"It's gotta be, Wilde. I've bullshat my way through far too many military and government officers for this to be groundless, and I know that name was in the papers. It was near the top of their funding list," Anatoly replied. His face suddenly brightened. "We have a lead, too! 'Jenner Strang' was the name of one of their members. If we can track down his information, we should be able to find him!"

Wilde was about to reply, but Farley held up a hand. Rufus, who had been comforting Kitt, crept to the edge of the roof and hissed. He slid back and said, "Guardian. They probably heard what happened and decided to hit us now. I'll handle this, just stay quiet." Then the junk from the past couple posts happened.
