Riza nodded, enjoying her cool beverage. It seemed this place made iced tea just right. "Yeah, I'm with you," she said, smiling a bit even though he'd told her to shut up. Twice in fact. "I think I know where this is going though," she went on, jumping a little as Sneasel released herself from her poke ball and appeared on the seat next to Riza. She said nothing, only pointed at the drink sitting on the table in front of her trainer. "Fine," she muttered, moving it closer so the sharp claw Pokemon could enjoy a drink. While she was annoyed by Sneasel's actions at first, she soon realized that it was actually quite endearing, and without thinking she reached out and gently patted Sneasel on the head. Sneasel preened at the showing of affection and she happily plopped down on the cushy booth seat, now watching the poor bored waitress scrub down already super-clean tables.

Riza looked back over at Keegan and smiled lightly. "Please go on," she urged, still a little surprised that she'd gotten him to talk at all. She placed her elbows on the table and rested her chin in her hands, intent on listening to every word he said.

Once she was able to concentrate on her work, the actual sewing and cutting that needed to be done was finished up in a mere hour. When she was finished, the yellow and black-spotted egg was resting warm and safe in a sling of sorts, which Katie had slung over her shoulder and fastened closed with a generous flap of fabric that would also help to hide the egg from the world and would-be nosy-parkers. 'There,' she thought, admiring her handiwork in the reflection of the pokecenter door. She packed up her sewing kit and shoved it quickly into her bag before she went inside the center. 'I'd guess I'd better get Dumb and Dumber healed,' she thought, though she didn't really mean it. She was still pretty angry at the two of them for losing their cool, and for selfishly evolving in order to beat each other's brains out. 'If they keep this up, how will they be when they decide to evolve to Infernape and Staraptor?' she thought, shrugging sheepishly as she handed the two spheres to the nurse, who looked surprised to see her there again so soon. "Special training," she said, though it wasn't a full lie. She had hoped for the two of her Pokemon to work out their differences, even though it had ended in total failure.

Katie then got herself a Dr Pepper from a vending machine and sat down by the window to wait, gently lifting up the cover of the egg-sling and peeking at the egg. "I know it's comfy in there, but don't wait too long," she told it, carefully resting her hand on its smooth shell. If she didn't know any better, she could have sworn that she felt the egg wriggle around in reply.

"Just another all to familiar stroll down route 114. Only difference is I'm not going home this time." Breaker says to himself. "Chances are we're going to be bumping into some tough foes along the way, isn't that right Reverie? How bout a little fishing before we continue on, GO REVERIE" He yells as he tosses the pokeball at the near by pond and reaches for his fishing pole.

Looking a little frustrated Breaker let out a sigh with out a nibble on his rod for the past hour and a half. "Looks like i was wrong Reverie, maybe we should just head out." Reverie just looked at breaker with a serious look to her face, than without warning sent out a splash of water at Breaker. "HEY! Watch it or i'll be comming in after you."

"Wouldn't want to do that, she would win."
Breaker jumped in surprise. "Oh hey dad. What are you doing?"
"I was hoping to get some fishing in before the day was over, but it seems some brat is in my spot."He replied with a smirk.
"Oh haha." Breaker said sarcastically "No good anyways, they aren't bitting today."
"You know it's not about the actual fish, it's about the time."
"I know, but i was hoping to get a battle in before i headed to Meteor Falls."Replying with a discouraged look.
"Oh is that all, well I got this little thing the other day. Go On Goldeen. Think you can take on your old man?" Breakers father looked eager to show his stuff.
Breaker jump up with eagerness to bury his father beneath the waves. "Your on! Let's Go Reverie." And with that Reverie spurred into action and started to swirl around Goldeen. She was read to fight and she was ready to win..

The flight was long. There wasn't much to keep them occupied, seeing as they hung on for dear life to the bag of an insanely jealous dragon, who decided halfway through the flight she didn't like the idea of a girl being on her back. She kept turning her head to snap at Sam. Orion gritted his teeth.

"This is why I didn't want to bring her." He wrapped his arms around Sam's stomach, and pulled her back when he saw Freesia turning again. Sam felt as if he was performing the Heimlich.

"Ow, ow Orion stop! That hurts!"

"Trust me, it will hurt much worse if she actually bites you."

"How much longer?" A whining note crept into her voice. She was more tired then she thought. Orion was silent for a moment.

"I'm not sure. Last time I flew to Lilycove, I was only flying from Mauville, since I had taken Cycling Road from Slateport. A little while longer. You could take a cat nap." Sam tiredly looked the objects perched precariously in front of her. Her dress and his tux sandwiched their packs between them. She leaned forward and used her hands as a pillow. She quickly fell asleep.

"Sam...Wake up...We're here." She raised her head. She felt an impression on her face from her hand and the garment bag. She suddenly felt movement below her, and realized she was still on Freesia's back. If only temporarily. Freesia gave a hard shake, and Sam and their possessions fell to the ground. She hovered lightly above the ground. Orion glowered. "No PokeBlock for you." Freesia was insulted. Lilycove was a place to make great PokeBlocks! He wasn't going to give her a treat?! After her arduous journey here? She could feel and taste that mouth-watering Blue PokeBlock he had given her last time they visited. It had been so delicious...it was her fault! That wench! Freesia narrowed her eyes at Sam, who was shakily getting to her feet. She gathered energy in her mouth, and took aim. The energy formed into little fireballs, green in color. Sam felt the light and heat, and dodged at the right time. Unfortunately, the DragonBreath hit one of the packs. Green flames licked at it's sides. Orion lept forward, and slapped it out. He inspected it. Sam looked at it.

"Oh that one's yours..." she said, hoping she didn't sound too relieved. He dumped out the pack, sifting through the contents. He found the two tickets, unharmed. He sighed a great sigh of relief.

"Thank god...Freesia, what were you thinking?!" He recalled her in disgust. He held his pack in his hands, since the straps were now frayed. "Come on, let's go find a place to get ready." He gestured to the city. Sam looked at it for the first time. Her jaw fell. It was enormous! Much larger then Cianwood! When they had visted Saffron, they had already been in the city, seen only a little piece. Here on the city limits, she could see all the buildings rising up. One in particular stood out. "That's the Department Store. We can visit there if you want, before we get ready." Sam nodded, unable to speak. A department store? She wasn't even used to normal stores! Cianwood had only the herbalist. All their supplies had to be imported from Olivine, in exchange for the medicines the herbalist made. They passed a sign.

"Welcome to Lilycove City! Where the land ends and the sea begins!" Now that she thought about it, she could smell the salty sea air. She heard Wingulls calling, and distantly...very distantly she could hear waves crashing. It reminded her of home.

The older fisherman grinned at the Barboach's eagerness. "Someone sure looks spunky today," he chuckled, placing a hand on his hip. "Hrm, let's see... Ah, I know. Goldeen, let's use your Peck attack." It wasn't so much as a command as a statement.

The Goldfish Pokemon nodded, watching Reverie zip around before she too shot forwards beneath the surface, her elegant fins billowing out around her like a ballgown. She lowered her head, preparing to jab her sharp horn into the smaller Water-type.

Reverie having so much fun just swimming in circles wasn't paying enough attention to her foe. But Goldeen became all to clear as she came flying towards her. "Watch out Reverie!" Breaker yelled. But it was to late, Goldeen had caught Reverie right in the back. Reverie let out a screech of pain as it happened and was sent spinning away. "Come on Reverie that was nothing we've still got this." Breaker said optimistically. "Use mudslap!"
And with that command Reverie snapped back into action and came to a stop near the edge of the pond.

"Go on Goldeen, one more time." So Goldeen did, she lowered her horn once again and came barreling towards Reverie, but reverie was prepared. As Goldeen neared, Reverie sent a hunk of mud from the pond wall flying at goldeen hitting her right in the face. That should do it Reverie thought to her self once again taking her eyes of her foe.
"Watch out she's still comming." Breaker exclaimed. And he was right she was still comming but Reverie knew he wouldnt be fast enough to dodge it she had to think of something fast. "Dodge it Reverie." Breaker yelled, as if Reverie didn't already realise that. Luckily at the last second Reverie pushed upwards off the wall giving her that extra little speed she needed. Almost simultaneously Goldeen slammed into the muddy wall of the pond. She was stuck.

"Well i guess that's it, you win." Joseph said with disbelief and a chuckle..

"Not so fast Dad, look." And with that Goldeen managed to get herself unstuck and looked more determined than before.

"It seems your right." Jospeh said as Goldeen even surprised him. "Looks like i underestimated my own pokemon."

"Hope you didn't underestimate us. Go on Reverie, give her another mudslap." And with that Reverie sent more mud hurling at goldeen.
mon."

"Oh no you don't, Goldeen use your tailwhip to knock it back." Goldeen prepared as the mud neared closer, unsure if her new masters plan would work. She swung her tail as fast as she could at the mud, but no. Her tail just wasn't strong enough and the mud just went flying through her gown like fins hitting her directly in the back.

Neither Breaker or his dad, Joseph, could see anything through the now murky water. They stood in silence as they waited to see who would claim victory. But just as the dust settled, goldeen surfaced. She was unconcious, Breaker and Reverie had won.
"We did it Reverie, high five!" Reverie let out a sqweek of agreement and jumped out of the water to meet Breakers hand. "Oh a little higher, almost had it." Breaker said laughing as he moved his hand slightly higher. Reverie just gave him a discouraged look and went backto swimming.

"Well I guess you won, so i guess you need something for winning don't you." Joseph said cheerfully. "I don't have anymoney but here, take this it's the goldeen i just battled you with. I'm sure she could come in handy." He said as he extended his hand holding the pokeball containing Goldeen.

"No Dad, I can't I'm doing this on my own, which means my own pokemon. Thanks though Dad, I should really be off though." And with that Breaker and his father said their goodbyes and Breaker with his first win under his belt continued towards Meteor Falls

The building's front was intimidating. There were no two-story buildings in Cianwood, yet this building had 6! The sign on the front proclaimed "LILYCOVE DEPARTMENT STORE! Overflowing with great merchandise and excitement! A great place to find that something you need!" They entered the lobby area. Orion turned to her.

"I need to shop for some things, and they are probably spread throughout the store. Why don't you explore? Meet me back down here in an hour okay?" Sam nodded, and dashed to the elevator. They had none in Cianwood, and the only time she had ever been in one was in Olivine. They had only gone up one floor though. Sam looked at the buttons, and immediately pressed the highest one. The description next to it read, "Secret Base decorations". She didn't know what that was, but she didn't care. The elevator slowly moved upwards the 4 floors. The movement disoriented her. She decided she did not like elevators. She stepped out onto the 5th floor, and was amazed by what she saw. Lights overhead illuminated shelves upon shelves of cushions, dolls, and rolled up rugs. Posters decorated the walls, and mats lay on the floor for demonstrations. The place was packed. Sam looked around, not even noticing where her feet took her. As a result, she stepped on a Glitter Mat. A large cloud of glitter dust erupted, and coated her entire body. She coughed and backed into Jump Mat. It was bouncy, and she wasn't anticipating it. She fell, and bounced upwards. She landed on a Spin Mat, which spun her around in circles. She finally stopped, and opened her eyes slowly, dizzy. She noticed people staring at her, mostly middle-aged women who gossiped to each other about the teenage hooligan who was disrupting their shopping. Sam carefully got up, avoiding the other mats, and dashed up the stairs. She was now on the roof, near some vending machines. She sat on ones of the benches provided, putting her head between her knees. As she recovered, she walked towards the edge. It gave her such an intense sense of vertigo she had to sit back down. She gently wiped her hair, getting the glitter out.

"Rough time?" She looked up. It was a girl, about the same age as her. She wore a plain white shirt and blue jeans, and held a small pink pokeball. Her blonde hair was cropped short. Sam rolled her eyes, and nodded. "Want to battle? I find that helps me when I'm having a rough time." Sam thought it over. She still had plenty of time.

"Sure why not?" The girl smiled, and released the pokemon in her Heal Ball. It was a small green pokemon that looked like a lizard. Sam removed her pokedex.

"Treecko, the Wood Gecko pokemon." Sam froze. Wood? Meaning Grass-type? She had been intent on using Star, but now she felt maybe she shouldn't...she instead withdrew Miles' pokeball.

"Miles..." She thought for a second. Low Kick wouldn't do much...her Dex beeped.

"Miles has learned: Fury Swipes" Sam chuckled. Good as anything.

"Miles, use Fury Swipes!" she yelled as she threw his pokeball. The little white fluffball came out, slightly calm for once. He saw his opponent, and ran forward claws outstretched. He made contact, swiping at the Treecko's face, then swinging around and swiping again. He made one last attempt at scratching the gecko, then his momentum threw him away from the little green lizard. He landed upside down. The Treecko ran forward, apparently intent on getting it's enemy while it was down. It's hand glowed as it slugged Miles' in the face. The girl looked curiously at Sam.

"Miles? Why'd you name him Miles?"

"His name is Maelogan. But that's a mouthful. So Miles for short" The girl raised an eyebrow, amused.

"Uh-huh...Mako, Bullet Seed." The Treecko gathered an energy ball in it's mouth, then let loose little glowing seeds that struck Miles with mini explosions. The little barrages came three times, each time Miles losing a little more stamina. The girl smiled. "I knew shopping was a good idea."

Keegan watched the Sneasel's actions with a bit of a smile. She certainly had attitude, and Keegan wondered what she'd be like with a bit more battle experience under her belt. Regardless, she and Riza made quite a pair. The redhead had a large gulp of his Coke and swirled the ice around inside the glass before setting it down. "Yeah, I think you're on the right track," he went on, drumming his fingertips on the table. "Naturally, not too long after we left home, Sheridan showed up at my parents' ranch, demanding they hand over her Pokemon right away or suffer the consequences. So, having no choice, I soon got a phone call from my mom, though she didn't tell me what was up right then." He frowned, knowing that if the circumstances had been different and it had not been a fairly powerful client, she probably would have told him to get as far away from Lavaridge as possible. She knew better than anyone how much that baby fox had become attached to her son, or was it vice-versa? Keegan clenched his teeth together and slammed his fist down hard on the table, making everything resting on top of it jump a little. It angered him that Sheridan had taken her sweet time in coming to claim Helios mainly because she figured that someone else would raise him until he was a more manageable age. Though she had eventually given him back, Keegan still hated her on many, many levels. Taking a deep breath, he slowly calmed himself before continuing with the story.

"Anyway, at that point and by sheer coincidence I had met up with Sheena, and we'd been traveling together for a bit before I got the call and had to head back home again." He stopped to study the menu quickly, smiling inwardly as he hadn't exactly invited Sheena to come with him; she'd done that mostly on her own. Either way, she'd kept things interesting, to say the least. "Anyway, we made it back to Lavaridge and Sheridan took back Helios. It's as simple as that." He scratched his chin and pointed at the menu, looking back up at Riza again. "And I think a cheeseburger is sounding pretty good right now, as well as a heaping mountain of fries. What about you?"

Back at her brother's half-shop/half-home, M.A. began to set the table although she was absent-minded enough to give herself two knives and Saebum the salt shaker instead of the typical knife-fork combination. No one was present to chide her though, as Rein was putting the final touches on everything and Saebum had disappeared somewhere, saying he had to search for something. As for the Pokemon, Ulani was now singing happily to the egg with Diego asleep nearby and Tora was safely in her PokeBall where she would cause no damage. Only Daemyn was with the brunette, watching her with half-open eyes.

It had been decided that M.A. would take Maxine's egg; although the Tropius was somewhat concerned about the girl's reputation of stumbling into trouble, it appeared that she was more or less able to weasel out unscathed. She was an earnest, good-hearted child, and where she lacked in strength her Pokemon would do. Plus, the egg had responded very positively to Ulani, something totally unheard of. And so Maxine reluctantly gave her approval, though when M.A. assured her that everything would be perfectly fine, the dinosaur just had to believe that seemingly unshakable belief.

To say it was truly unshakable would be dishonest, however. M.A. had begun to realize that the outside world did not guarantee security and happiness, unlike her home back in Fallorbor. She had seen agony in the faces of the trainers who had lost their Pokemon at the beach party, had nearly felt it herself when Ulani was seconds away from being stolen herself. In fact, despite having her Pokemon and brother and sister-in-law just a room away or so, M.A. suddenly felt distinctly lost having just realized she no longer had a safety net. Sure, she had been traveling for a few weeks now, but she hadn't been more than few stones' throw from home. But in this new region, Sinnoh... She would be entirely alone. There would be no longer be the warm, familiar smiles of Fallorbor to fall upon her; there would only be the masses of strangers, totally oblivious to her existence. And if she got into trouble, there wouldn't be a single person there to come to her rescue. Sure, she often insisted that she could take care of herself, but that was her pride speaking. M.A. was far more accustomed to being pampered, to being caught when she climbed up a tree too high and couldn't get back down.

It was frightening, this independence. She thought it had become too stifling and dull at home, but she only appreciated the safeness of it all now, when it was a memory. She thought she wanted to become an individual based on her own self, instead of Saebum's always-smiling sister, instead of the tall Rustings' girl, instead of the kid with an irregular heartbeat, shhh, be careful not to scare her -- but she didn't know who she was herself, so now was she going to become that individual? Standing on her own two feet sounded like a noble idea then, but she felt like she was standing on air.

A loud yelp broke her reverie. Rein had apparently stepped on Daemyn's tail by accident as she was trying to deliver the potroast to the table, and only M.A. hastily tackling (or rather, a hug the Houndoom over preventing him from burning the place down. "Remember! Your fire is dangerous to normal people," she reprimanded seriously. Daemyn sulked a bit to himself, ignoring Rein's apology; gee, humans were so fragile, it was pitiful. And M.A. the most fragile of them! But as disgusted as he was with most people, he was irrefutably in love with his master, for better or worse.

"HUNNY, GET YOUR a** -- oops, pardon my French -- OVER HERE, DINNER'S READY," Rein hollered. M.A. was once again shocked by the volume that could come out of such a tiny woman.

"I'm COMING," he answered, not visible still.

"What? By yourself or with another woman?!" Rein shouted indignantly with mock anger. Sae's hearty laugh was heard somewhere, but M.A. couldn't understand what was so funny.

Riza had been listening quietly, keeping her eye on Sneasel to make sure the dark-type didn't take off and try to get herself into trouble so naturally she jumped quite a bit when Keegan hit the table. She bit her lower lip and carefully picked up the salt shaker, which had toppled over in the process and swept up the loose salt into a little pile. She was having trouble trying to imagine what Keegan had to go through, what it would be like if someone just randomly came up to her and said 'hey that sneasel is mine, hand her over.' Even though Riza hadn't been at this for as long as Keegan had, she knew it would still be hard. She looked up at him incredulously as he announced his dinner choice. "Simple?" she countered, letting her own hand fall down hard on the table's surface, though it wasn't nearly as loud or effective as the red head's gesture had been. "I don't call that simple." She sighed and let her arms fall to her sides before she looked at the menu as well. "I think I'll have a toasted BLT with a house salad on the side." She looked over at their waitress who was already busy writing down their orders. She lightly touched the poke balls that held corphish and kirlia and she frowned. What would she do if her Pokemon were taken away? Again she was reminded of last night, and she shivered. Many trainers last night had lost their Pokemon, they hadn't been lucky like her and Crenu. She sighed. The world could be so cruel sometimes.
* * * * *
It took a little longer than Katie hoped for her Pokemon to be returned to her. By the time she reclaimed Genki and Noa's poke balls she'd finished her drink and had placed the bottle in a recycling bin. She thanked the nurse and stared at the two spheres in her hand, wondering if perhaps she tried hard enough, the two naughty Pokemon within would hear her thoughts. 'I hope you two are proud of yourselves,' she thought angrily, slipping each sphere into the hidden pockets of her custom-made dress. 'That was the most selfish display I have ever seen, and used to hang around models all day!' she huffed and gathered her things before she went back outside. It was a relatively warm day out and she decided to enjoy what was left of it. She started walking in a fairly random direction, hoping she would come upon something interesting.

((Wow I suck today. ._.))

"Well that was fun." Breaker said to himself with a big smile, "Thats the first time me and my Dad ever battled against eachother. I wonder who my next opponent will be." He thought to him self as he took his first step into Meteor Falls. Breaker breathed in the cold damn air of the falls. It seemed like only yesterday since the last time he was here, oh wait it was. Now it was just a matter of making his way out. Breaker started navigating the all too familiar terrain, enjoying the sounds of Zubat flying above. "Huh? A dead end..." Breaker sighed with disbelief. "Guess Dad was right i do need that map." He said reaching for the map in his back pocket. "Now where am I...Oh I see i was suppst to take a left." Breaker felt a little stupid for taking the wrong direction but he was enjoying his walk so much. "WOW!!" Breaker screamed as he tripped over a rock. "Gosh, first I don't pay enough attention to the map and than I pay to much attention to it." He said scratching his head and trying to laugh off the little fall.
"Ok come on breaker you grew up in this place, this should be a bre..." Breakers encouraging words for himself ended as he saw that the rock he tripped over was some sort of moon shapped pokemon and it did not look happy with him. "

"Lunatone!" It said roughly "Wow settle down it was an accident." Breaker nerviously said. He couldn't believe it, all of the years he had been comming here he had never seen a pokemon like this. Suddenly this moon like pokemon came shooting forward towards Breaker. "WOW!" Breaker yelled rolling out of the way. "This is not good. Go on Reverie, help me out a little would ya." Reverie bounced out of her pokeball with her usual zest for life, when she noticed the Lunatone. "Quick Reverie mudslap!" Breaker exclaimed. But it was no use, Reverie's attacks were futile. Everytime he attacked the Lunatone would just dodge it.
"Lunatone!" It said again as it slammed into Reverie. "No Reverie!" She was being trounced by the pokemon. What could breaker do...

"GO NUZLEAF, GIGA DRAIN!" Just than a wily pokemon with a leaf on it's head jumped over both Breaker and Reverie. Suddenly both the Nuzleaf and the Lunatone began to glow with a green tinge.
"Lunatone.." It gasped as it calapsed to the floor.
"Go pokeball! The voice screamed again. The pokeball hit the Lunatone and sucked it up. As Breaker watched, still in shock, the voice spoke again, more quiet this time. "You ok kid?"
Breaker snapped out of it and looked over his shoulder to see a rather husky man without a shirt on. "Reverie." Breakers eyes widened as he remember his pokemon."Here kid give her this." The shirtless man said as he handed Breaker a potion.
"Umm thanks..." Breaker reached over to Reverie and sprayed the potion on to her. She opened her eyes slightly but closed them again.
"No worries kid she just needs a rest. The names Rogar by the way, how bout yours?" He asked as he picked up his newly caught Lunatone.
"Breaker...what was that thing, I've been comming here for years and have never seen one before." Breaker asked as he return Reverie to her pokeball.
"Oh this thing is called a Lunatone. I've been here for weeks looking for one, an I probably wouldn't have found it if it weren't for you tripping over it like that." Rogar said with a ruff laugh.
"Oh you saw that did you?" Looking down rather embarrased.
"Come on kid, lets get out of here. I've got to get back to Rustboro, I assume your going to the same way." Rogar stated confidentally waving his hand for Breaker to follow. "Where you from anyways kid?"
Breaker stood up and began to follow, " Fallabor."
"Oh so not to far from home than, just started on some kind of journey than eh?" Rogar asked raising an eyebrow.
"Ya sort of." Breaker told him his story of how he was planning on following his fathers original dream but with a twist of becoming known as a great water pokemon master.
"Sounds great kid but you gotta get a little tougher first, maybe catch yourself a second pokemon so your not stuck with only one option." He said as they reached the exit to Meteor Falls. "Come on kid your with me now, at least till Rustboro anyways. But first we camp, It's getting late and I'm hungry." Rogar smirked as he tossed a tent out and began making a fire. "Well what are u waiting for kid, put the tent up already."

Sam gritted her teeth. The Treecko and Miles had been dashing around, avoiding each others attacks for several minutes. Their speed was matched evenly. It was starting to grate on her nerves. Apparently the girl was having similar thoughts.

"This is stupid...Mako Quick Attack." The Treecko disappeared briefly, then phased into being right in front of Miles. It gathered power, then rammed as hard as it could into Miles' side. Miles' hopped backwards from the attack. There just wasn't that much he could do. Sam thought about the different moves he had. She watched the Treecko, trying to imagine what other moves it had. Probably one of the standards, Tackle, Scratch, or Pound. It also probably had Growl or Leer.

"Miles, use Focus Energy." Might as well do something.

"Mako, Absorb." Sam froze. Crap, that wasn't expected. She watched little glowing yellow orbs of energy flow from Miles to the green gecko. Well at least Miles was now pumped up, glowing a slight blue from the energy.

"Miles Fury Swipes again" The Treecko's body suddenly had a slight blue glow to it, in the shape of a scratch. Miles swung his claws across the treecko's body over and over again. His claws were a blur. Apparently the Focus Energy had worked. The Treecko was knocked backward. It breathed heavily.

"Mako...Hm...Pound" The Treecko ran forward, and punched Miles in the face. Miles retaliated with an extremely fast punch to the Treecko's face. The Treecko got a look of pure anger on it's face, and, completely disregarding his trainer's intentions, he went for another punch in Miles' face. Apparently Miles' and Mako's personalities were the same, as they proceeded to have a punching war. Both completely disregarded the fact that they could easily use other powers to much more easily decide the battle.

"Miles, stop it! Use Scratch!" He ignored her.

"Mako! Absorb!" Mako briefly glanced in between punches at his trainer, then continued on. The girl shook her head. She recalled the Treecko in the middle of a punch, and withdrew another ball. "Shay, you better do better then your idiot of a brother." When Sam heard the word "brother", she prepared for another Grass-Type. She sighed. Great, now she still couldn't use Star. What came out of the ball though was a large silver pokemon that certainly didn't look to be part Grass. The ball itself was strange, a dark blue with a few lighter blue markings. The girl noticed Sam's confusion. "It's a Heavy Ball. Kurt makes them in Azalea Town." Sam nodded, pretending to know what she was talking about. In the meantime, she studied the pokemon before her. It was about 3 feet tall, with silver body armor surrounding it. A jolt of recognition shot through her, and with it a smile. The Rhyhorn was weak to Fighting, and doubly weak to Water. If Miles couldn't handle it, she could send out Star to take care of it. Sam smirked.

"Rhyhorn? Wow, okay." She still didn't understand how the two could be sibilings, but it didn't matter. "Miles, Low Kick." Miles, angry at his opponent being taken from him, swiped his leg under the Rhyhorn's feet. The Rhyhorn flipped over onto it's back, landing on the hard plates of armor. It glared upside down at Miles. The horn on it's forehead glowed, and it flipped itself over, charging forward and stabbing Miles. Miles took it rather hard, and Sam knew he couldn't fight much longer. She recalled him. As if knowing it was her turn, Star burst out of her pokeball. She hated being in there. She saw her opponent, more then twice her size, pawing at the ground. The girl stiffened. Sam saw her reaction. "Recognize her? Star Water Gun!" The girl was frantic.

"Shay, move! You can't let that hit you!"

TA-TA-TAAAA! Jun to the rescue!

Who he was rescuing exactly, however, was the prominent question. "Oh, oh my!" he cried, having just reached the middle-aged mother and her son in a quiet corner of the large hotel lobby. Posh and Demi were not far behind, still perplexed as to what their master was up to now. "That is not the way you should treat a lady!" The Jynx and the Roselia questioningly slid their gaze towards the mother -- she had age spots coming on, which was a dilemma in itself, but nothing that could rile Jun up to this extent. Plus, she hardly seemed like the victim; the only thing on her face was irritated surprise. "A child, especially; this maiden's heart is golden, even if she's not yet refined on the surface." His Pokemon crossed out the mother as the possible victim, and instead looked to the boy -- but he was a boy and thus did not make sense in context.

The Jynx and the Roselia followed Jun's pitying gaze down -- down -- down to the ground, next to the kid's shoe. There was a rather unfortunate looking fish there, gasping in hurt; bruises were apparent all over its small, bony body. How the fish got them were immediately apparent as the child stomped on the poor thing in defiance to Jun's words.

"I would appreciate it if you stayed out of our business," the woman coldly said, not appreciating this stranger's interference.

"Golden my a**," the kid muttered as the fish wheezed, coughing up some slime.

"Language!" Jun reprimanded in half song. Children nowadays, he thought to himself remorsefully.

"Shut up! I can do whatever I want with it, since it's /mine/. Dumb fish," he said, kicking it again for good measure. "The breeder said it'd hatch into something rare but when the egg opened up today all I got is this ugly cottage-cheese looking fish!"

The mother scoffed. "We've been jipped. And I paid such good money, too... Come, we'll just have to return the putrid thing," she said, grabbing a hold of her son's hand.

The little fish on the ground didn't move an inch, merely making a hiccuping sound that sounded a lot like a sob. That sob was interrupted as the child chucked a Pokeball at its eye, dragging the fish in.

"Have a good day," the mother said curtly to Jun, turning to leave.

"Wait," he said, taking a hold of her shoulder. The woman glared at him and jerked her body to remove his hold on her. "What else?" she snapped.

"How much did you pay for it?"

"What? Why is that your business?"

"Just entertain me, woman," Jun said, smiling courteously; but somehow there was a real air of threat about him, and the woman felt a cold chill slide down her spine.

"A-a couple grand."

"Hm. Well then, this should cover that..." he said, fishing through his side-bag to find his Hermes wallet. Shame, these were the funds towards his Prada duffel, but he wouldn't mind waiting a little longer. He already had a decent Chanel one anyways, a little old but ah well, the economy was bad you know? In short, he pulled out a handful of bills and crushed it into the woman's hand. "I'll be buying her from you, then," he said, not waiting for her consent as he magicked away the Pokeball from the boy's hand. "Now /you/ have a good day."

"Hold o--" the woman started to shriek, but then upon realizing how much money was in her hands, held her peace.

Misty smirked at Robin's confusion. Just what we wanted! Alright! "Alrighty Horsea, we can do this. Just try to dodge the seeds!" Unfortunately, Misty didn't think this through very well either. Horsea couldn't exactly see anything underneath the water. Her crys of pain after being hit by the seeds told Misty that, well, dodging wasn't that easy, especially with an attack like that. Horsea head came up and bobbed on the surface of the murky water.

"Horsea, are you okay?!" Misty yelled, quite disbelieving that one attack could make him faint. Horsea (dramatically) looked up at the Hoppip with a fierce, determined glare. "Ooh, it's on now! Horsea, use Bubble!" Horsea's head quickly disappeared underneath the water, and suddenly Bubbles came shooting out of the water, from one spot, then another. Horsea was moving in between shooting bubbles, how clever! They'll never catch us now!

Above all else...

Another long night's walk along Route 5 had Travis' feet aching by the time the city limits of Cerulean City came into sight. The home of the Water Gym and the Trainer Misty was a familiar sight to the former thief, having lifted several powerful Pokemon from the area over the years. He smiled in the pre-dawn light as he remembered snatching a pair of unattended pokeballs from the Pokemon Center and scoring a SeaKing and a Goldeen. Marco had kept them as pets for a while before gifting them to Giovanni.

Beside him, the Machop saw the smile looked confused, glancing around. "Machop?" It didn't see anything that would make his trainer smile. Well, there were some flowers nearby growing along a fence; maybe that was it? The Machop stepped over and picked two tulips then turned to give them to Travis. Arching an eyebrow, Travis shook his head and made a cutting gesture with his hand. "Well thanks but that's not what I was smiling about."
"Machop?" The short Pokemon offered the flowers again.
"No no, don't worry about it." He said briskly. "One of those things I told you I'm trying not to do anymore just ran through my head." The Machop nodded and tossed the flowers towards the fence. Again it looked about and was now wondering where they were going. Travis noticed and sighed. "I have no idea. I think East of here is the rock tunnel, and West is Mt. Moon. Nothing but wilderness. We need to stay away from towns if we want to stay out of jail so maybe getting lost for a while isn't a bad idea. Now, which way to go? I wish I had a map..." He trailed off, unsure for the first time since the break-out two nights ago. It appeared that getting out was the easy part; now his feet were blistered from two solid nights of walking in cheap shoes and his stomach had never been so empty. At that moment it emitted a loud rumble, echoed by one from Machop. They both stared at each other for a second then laughed in embarassment.

"Ok, food first, then sleep." The Machop eyed him skeptically. Travis cringed. "I'll use the money I have this time! Geeze."
"Machop!" The little fighter Pokemon cried gleefully, smiling wide.

may you know joy
