Sethe looked at her as she hugged him. She thought he didn't have faith in her, but she wasn't saying it express;y. People are dumb, sometimes, they try to hide things from a known telepath. Sethe dragged on his cigarette, and sighed the fumes out. 'I don't think Will or anyone else knew the true potential of the spirits within the glaive. Only an estimate. They'd hoped the blades runes, wards, and sigils would protect the wielder from any sort of possession.'

Sethe shook his head post-epiphaniously. 'Well, they aren't strong enough for a celestial and an infernal who both want the same thing.' Sethe dragged his cigarette, enjoyed the fumes for a moment, and slowly seethed the smoke through his teeth. 'It's not like I wanted to leave this place behind. I had to do it. They wouldn't let me contact anyone, turn around, or try to rest. I hunted down a number of powerful demons working together. Coincidentally, Astaroth was among them.'

He sat still, still not wanting to get up. In his mood, the wall and the ground felt comfortable. He let his hood slide down, and continued smoking. 'How do you have to change things to accommodate me? My room's still my room, right? You took the leadership, and I'm fine with that.'

Sethe took another drag on his cigarette, letting himself think for a moment before continuing. 'It's not like I'm coming in here, telling you I want my throne back, proverbially, that is. I'm coming back to try and get back a semblance of normalcy. I've been in the f*cking woods for six months, I'd like to have civilization again, ya know? You can have the authority. I'm Omega, that doesn't mean I'm the leader, it just means I'm the one who gets shafted with the hardest, most dangerous missions, because it's more likely I'll survive.'

The werewolf's voice wasn't as cracked now, but the stress wasn't quite alleviated yet. He took another drag, sniffed, and then felt someone else coming. Alethea. Esou had gotten her scent, and her smell was floating on the wind. 'Alethea's on her way.' Sethe said, and continued smoking.

The man walked amongst the mortals for what seemed like forever, blending in perfectly except for curious looks from mortal children. One little girl, with the blondest hair came up to him and a asked very courageously if he was on tv. The sudden approach and question through the man off completely. He had never been approached by such a little girl willingly, Under other circumstances he would have just snatched her away and eaten her, but he did not want to make a scene on his first day on the big city. So he tried to ignore the little girl, continuing to walk as if he had never heard her. Apparently the girl was very resilient, because she ran off after him and tried to pull on his coat for attention. She went on about how she loved watching the big guys on tv flying with the basketball. When she said that comment, the man chuckled and turned around. Just when he turned around a skinny young woman ran up to the girl and took her had. She began to scold her for running off with a very tired voice. As soon as the woman showed up, the man sobered his expression and stared at her. This obviously terrified the woman, so she took her child and ran back into the crowd.

This was becoming troublesome, having to deal with so many tasty looking people with so much constrain on his part. So the man decided to brake off from the mod of mortals and headed to one of the alleys. Back in the jungle, the best way to find something is to find a vantage point up in the trees, same was in this big city.

The alley that he turned fortunately had an old fire escape on the side of the brick layered building. The man got right under the fire escape and saw that there wasn't actually a ladder down to the ground, it was conveniently laying on the ground, torn from its hinges. The man looked slightly amused now, it wouldn't have been any fun if it was easy. So he made his way to the far side of the fire escape, he tilted his head up to the sky. With a slightly bored expression he bent his knees a bit and leapt up into the sky, landing effortlessly on the first tier with a loud thud.

After he had gotten into the fire escape, he just glazed through the rest of the steps until reaching the roof. The building he had chosen was relatively small in comparison to the skyscrapers that inhabit the city. But it was tall enough to survey the the area.

It was useless to hide things, yes but the reaction happened all the same and the automatic response to it was triggered. She listened, however, as he explained that Will probably didn't have any idea what the rank and the weapon bestowed to Sethe would do to him and Meredith felt herself feeling a little unsettled by the whole concept. Where the hell had this weapon come from anyhow? Why was it so almighty and important? "So what you're saying is that all the runes, wards and sigils aren't working and that the thing can possess you anyhow? What if you just ditch the weapon or something like that? Irresponsible yes but if it's causing a ton of trouble then is it really worth keeping the thing? I mean look at you, you're miserable." It was clear that she was concerned about him and that she'd up and forgotten all about being angry at him and just wanted to help now.

Going on further, Sethe's explanation answered her questions and explained what exactly was going on with the whole weapon thing. "Why can't you just ditch the weapon then if it's causing you so much misery? And if they take you over and don't let you do things you should get rid of it ASAP since you're back with it and in control of yourself." She was about to say more when he mentioned Astaroth, the being that'd haunted Sethe's blood line for generations. She wasn't really sure what to make of the beings death though she certainly associated it with a good thing since Astaroth being gone hopefully meant more peace and security for Sethe.

Eden sighed when he asked her how she was supposed to accommodate him because it was starting to border her ability to explain. She didn't know how to explain it but Sethe coming back into their lives had created a lot more stress than anticipated more so because of Kerri's response but also because of Sethe's own stress and his criticism. "When you adjust to someone being dead it's a pretty harsh and weird blow when they come back into your life because you kind of pave over the part of you that hurts and stuff that like. I don't know how to explain it. It's just weird, unexpected and throws things off, you know?" It was clear she was trying to provide him with an explanation but she wasn't coming up with anything that she thought sounded all that great. However, it was also clear that she was glad to have her brother back safe and sound. Things just felt a little different and perhaps that was what weirded her out.

"And I'm not being b--chy territorial and telling you to get out or anything either. You know you're welcome in haven, it's your home, you're my brother. It's just disheartening to hear your complete lack of faith in me but meh, I guess life goes on. And you've got civilization and you're free to exert some authority. After all, you are a former hunter leader and you're certainly a hunter that out ranks everyone else so you have some say. As for getting shafted with missions I really can't help you there. I still say throw the thing away, get rid of it."

Upon Alethea being mentioned she raised an eyebrow until she remembered that she'd exchanged a few messages with the huntress a while back. "That one was tailing some demons the other day. I haven't actually met her in person, though, just through messaging on the HIN."

The city looked like a playground for a beast, looked like his playground when it was lit so magnanimously lit by the mighty moon mother. There was a small tingle in the large man's turquoise eyes, maybe he did not need to long for the freedom of the jungle now that he was in this playground. There was probably a lot of tasty women around.

As the man looked around with a satisfied grin on his lips and a playful look in his eyes, he was still looking for people of the underworld, or a tasty meal. Preferably the first. His inhuman ears were very attentive for any dead giveaways, like lycan, vampire, hunter, demon or any of the sort. People always let it slip when they think they are having a private conversation, never accounting for the unknown unknowns.

A stroke of luck it appeared, his ears picked up some voices coming from not far, probably a few alleys far. So the huge ebony man made his way in that direction, making sure that his presence was hidden. Because of a seal that was put on his back, his presence as a lycanthrope would be impossible to sense while he was in his human form, and because of his decades of training, his mind was a stone wall for anyone with a probing intent.

It was not long before the man got near enough to the alley that he could hear the conversation clearly. It seemed a woman was talking. The man sneaked closer while on top of the alley, trying to cover himself behind a small wall or that looked like a chimney.

He crouched behind a small barrier. His worn leather coat falling around him, covering his dark cargo trousers. His ebony chest still exposed, showing the massive muscles of his chest, while his bald head remained covered by the thin hood that was attached to his coat.

While the man was impossible to detect as a lycanthrope that did not save him from Meredith's sensitive nose nor her extremely sensitive hearing. Her ears perked at the noise and she listened carefully for the smallest displacement of leaves, gravel, an soft spot that made a creaking noise anything that might possibly be accidentally stirred around them. Instinctively she looked down the alleyway, scoping it out and confirming that no one was there unless they were possibly around the corner in which case she'd be able to check that out by maneuvering herself. She sniffed the air again and caught an unfamiliar scent, one that she couldn't really place as any race in specific. The smell was odd and out of place, something that her nose hadn't encountered before. Of course, though, there was a first time for everything and it could possibly be a trick. Just to be cautious she decided to slip on a small gas mask in case she was being gased.

That was when she heard the tiny displacement that she'd been waiting for, while the strange man had not misstepped by any means the smallest hint of a worn shingle gently pattered onto the ground and Eden's vision was instantly shot in that direction. She looked upwards but saw no one. The huntress drew her magnum, the ones with the solid silver blessed holy shells since tactics-wise she could take on both a lycan and a tainted with them. She decided to make her way around the corner of the building, putting her out of sight of whoever it was that was on the rooftop. She then carefully and quietly scaled the building and began softly maneuvering herself about until she spotted a man hiding behind a small chimney of sorts. Meredith hadn't been able to see him from the ground or the angle she'd been at but she could certainly see him now. Her gun was not aimed at him yet but she did decide to take cover on an incline in the roof so she'd have shelter from gun fire.

"Howdy stranger. If you're looking for folks to talk to you generally pass by instead of staring at them from a rooftop. Just thought I'd give you some basic courtesy pointers."
PostPosted: Thu Sep 17, 2009 7:24 pm

The man was keenly listening to what was going on in the alley. He knew that they would probably find him on top of the rooftop, unless they where amateurs. Just as expected, the woman caught an unknown. He expected that someone would notice but not know where it is coming from, probably the sweat that was building in his body. He heard the faint sound of something being pulled out from somewhere, he couldn't be precise but he figured it was a gun or something being drawn from its holster or hiding place within the clothes.

He waited patiently for the woman to forget about his presence, but it seemed that she did not, since he could hear the woman's feet shuffling and moving towards his building. He figured he was already found out, but he did not fret, he could handle anyone. Before long, a woman appeared from the shadows of the building. So he had been discovered by the lycanthrope woman, and she was pregnant. Oh how tasty were newborns, Sol resisted the watering that was beginning to build up in his mouth. He would have to wait to eat the woman, since she was carrying a magnificently big gun and it was still not time for him to show his true self.

"Oh I am sorry, I'm new to the city and just trying to find some friends" He replied to the woman in a very hick accent, one that definitively did not suit his dark complexion, his body size or his deep voice. The man bowed his head to the woman and walked the other way. It was a bit troublesome to pass a human as being snooping in the roof of a building, but he tried to pull it off. He walked off to the other end of the building and reached a fire exit that was conveniently located at the other side. He had seen it earlier while he was leaping through the building, but he was trying to give the impression that he had climbed up from there. As soon as he reached the stairs, he began to climb down and vanished from sight. He broke into the building through an open window and hid his presence completely.

Veroen had been in many ways a smooth talker of sorts. His old Russian friend, Volson, was no exception. In one of the basements of an old abandoned building, was where Volson chose to commit many illegal transactions that involved weaponry, gang activity, and drugs. However, this particular Russian ex-convict was by no means ignorant to the existence of immortal beings in the world.

Veroen had been friends with this smuggler of sorts for quite some time now. He owed Veroen many favors, because multiple times he had to rely on Veroen's 'supernatural' abilities to get him out of tight spots. Veroen was one of the most capable assassins this world had ever seen, and picking off a few drug lords that harassed Volson from time to time was a sort of side hobby for the Vampire Assassin. In return for Veroen's help, Volson gave him information, and weapons. So, one foggy night, while Volson was minding his own business, counting a rather large sum of money acquired from a recent transaction, Veroen decided that it was time to pay his old Russian friend a visit.

In one of the corners of the room that Volson was in, counting his illegally earned money, a dark orb manifested itself in mid air. The orb was of the Void naturally, and it made not a sound, as it slowly grew, and rotated quickly. Volson was oblivious to the manifestation of the strange orb of shadow, but that did not halt the orbs growth. Suddenly, the orb exploded into a cloud of thick, black shadow, and quickly solidified into the dark form of Veroen.

Veroen stood there, with a suitcase in one hand, and a long rectangular metal case in the other, and stared at Volson for a moment, before closing his eyes and stepping forward.

"Hello Volson."

Volson jerked his head toward the dark mysterious figure, pulling out a magnum from his jeans with reflexes fit for a human. However, he quickly realized it was Veroen, and addressed him with a heavy Russian accent, which was slightly tainted with nervous excitement.

"s**t Veroen, don't do that! I damn well near keeled over from a heart attack!" He let out a sigh of relief. "Where have you been? It's been what, a year?"

Veroen was silent for a moment. He then took a look around the room, examining its contents with no particular interest.

"Long story. One that will be for another time. I need you to keep this for me." He set down the suitcase, which made a soft click as it rested on the ground.

Volson cocked an eyebrow. "Oh? And what for? What is it?"

Veroen glanced over at Volson with an expressionless gaze.

"My entire life savings, as well as my laptop. You would be wise to put it in the safest place you can think of." Veroen's gaze hardened. He trusted the man, but would not take news of his fortune and laptop missing, lightly.

Volson stuck a cigarette in between his lips as he stared at Veroen thoughtfully. "I see. Alright well I will ask no more questions. You have my word. You have gotten me out of a few...sticky...situations. When will I expect your return to retrieve it?"

Veroen's gaze did not change.

"I don't know for sure. I have been forced to move out of the Coven apartments. Some, deceptions, have forced me to make an enemy out of the very Coven that I used to serve... That is all you need to know."

Volson's eyes widened at Veroen's words. "I see. Well, you be careful, comrade. From what I know, the coven is very dangerous, and more dangerous as an enemy. You will have my assistance if it is needed, old friend."

Veroen nodded slightly.

"Thank you friend. I will return when I need to."

And with that, Veroen dissipated into a cloud of shadow.

* * *

Veroen manifested from the shadows of the alleyway adjacent from Volson's basement. Veroen looked up, only to see a rather large black man enter through an open window. Veroen's two, very different eyes narrowed.

'Odd...'
he thought to himself.

He lingered there for a moment, not being able to register the black man's scent. That could mean many things, but could possibly be something bad. He did not have the scent of a human, that was for sure, but it was unclear what the man could be, which gave the possibility of something foul at work.

Veroen looked ahead, and stored the thoughts to the back of his mind. He then walked forward, and blended in with the crowd, despite the fact that his left eye was completely pitch black save for a crimson iris, as well as the large rectangular metal case that housed his .50 Caliber Long Range Sniper Rifle.

(( Al. You suck. That was an open ended not exit post ... >.< ))

Meredith raised her eye brow at the man, not buying his story for one second about trying to find some 'friends'. Perhaps he was looking for someone but probably not anyone that he was going to be overly nice to. Something in her told her that he was lying and when the hick accent emerged from his mouth she was only further convinced that this situation was fishy. He'd probably been eavesdropping on them though what he'd been doing before that was an absolute mystery to her and anyone else alike. She holstered her gun as the man disappeared from the roof top but not before she bothered to investigate over the edge of the building only to find nothing. That was when she confirmed that he definitely was not human and that she'd have to keep him on her watch list. Pursuing was possible but for now she would refrain from doing such seeing as Sethe was still in the alleyway and she didn't really want to leave him behind though she was certain he'd be able to catch up to her no problem.

She climbed down the same fire escape that the strange smelling man had and looked down the alleyway one last time before she made her way back to Sethe. When she got back Sethe was still sitting propped up against the wall as she had left him and she decided to take a seat beside him. "Sorry. I heard something. I guess at least my f--king senses are working like they should be. I need to get a grip on the rest of me, though, or I'm screwed ... So what are your plans for here then? Are you just gonna settle back in and hunt goonies until that stupid weapon of yours possesses you again and decides to take you away from us for another six months?"

Arylkia
Kerrigan nodded as Raven said he was going to check out the disappearance of a man from the front of the diner, the huntress standing as her partner moved outside the diner, heading towards the side alley. Intending to follow him, she only got a few steps towards the door before she felt a hand close around her shoulder, whirling around to feel a blade enter her stomach. Letting out a pained hiss as her fangs elongated, she looked down to see a steak knife protruding from her stomach, a man shoving her to the ground rather roughly. Pulling the knife from it's place, the wound started to heal almost immediately, the man stepping forward and pressing a boot into her neck.

"You won't seduce that man yer with. I know what you wanna do to him, and I ain't lettin' you bleed no one dry on my watch," he practically spit at her, the huntress reaching up and closing both hands around his ankle. She tried to communicate something to him, though it only came out as another hiss through her fangs, the sounds of a battle outside catching her attention. It upset her to not know who was firing what, let alone who's cries were managing to make it penetrate the stunned silence of the diner. Another cry, this time distinctly Marcus caused her eyes to darken, the green disappearing and replaced with a deep shade of crimson. In a sudden movement, she rocked her lower body up, legs closing around the man's waist before she wrenched his ankle to the side, driving his body down with her legs. This was the kind of crap she got in this city for trying to protect people. They hated her for her race, immediately lumping her in with the bloodthirsty vampires that had control of so much of New York. It was men like this that made her really want to give up protecting people.

"Look, he's my friend," she started to explain through deep breaths as she got to her feet once more. However, before she had a chance to continue the man was on her once more, a punch already aimed directly at her face. Grabbing his arm and twisting to the side slightly, she pivoted around on her foot, using his own momentum to throw him over her shoulder, directly into the ground. Still holding onto her arm, she wrenched it around slightly, bringing her knee directly into the side of his rib cage. There was a sound of cracking bone, the man yelling out in pain before she released him, stumbling back slightly as she looked at the rest of the diner patrons and staff. It was almost like they couldn't decide whether they were afraid of her, or disgusted by what she did, but the huntress could care less. Jumping over the man's body on the ground, she ran through the door, skidding to a halt in her heels as she heard the sounds of battle once more.

"Raven," she called out, muttering a soft curse as she looked down to the hole in her jacket and cami, the blood already dried over the healed wound. That still didn't stop the lingering pain from making her grit her teeth slightly. It didn't help that this was one of her favorite jackets...

Turning her attention back to the streets, she started off towards the alley she thought he was in, arriving just in time to see a creature disappear onto the rooftops and out of sight, leaving Raven standing there with an empty gun in his hand. Moving up behind him, her eyes scanned the rooftop as she ran her fingers back through her hair.

"You alright?"

Rising from the ground, glancing at his ruined black coat and damaged tactical vest, Marcus glanced up in time to notice the raven haired femme fatal coming over to him. The man raised a brow as he noticed the dry blood on her clothing and the exposed opening in her jacket. This caused the hunter to give a grin and ignore the soreness of his body and the cut at his back.

"Yeah. I'm fine. Heh, what about you? You kinda look like you saw your own share of fun." A soft chuckle came from the man as he took off his ruined long coat and tossing it over the bullet ridden dead body near them. He glanced at the body, silently debating about decapitating the bloody body just in case.

Letting out a sigh, Marcus turned to Kerrigan and shrugged his shoulder, as he noticed several passer bys now giving him looks for his odd appearance. This caused the Hunter to grunt in amusement, guessing seeing a man heavily armed with an automatic weapon slung to his arm wasn't an everyday sight in New York.

"Come on. I think I'm gonna need a drink. Stupid vampire ruined my nice jacket Hunter gave me and now I'm gonna have to run around in full hunter gear, lookin' like a psycho." Once more, Marcus laughed a bit and gave a crooked smile to the vampiress as he glanced once more to the now covered dead body. "Then again, I guess it could be worse..."
PostPosted: Thu Sep 17, 2009 9:42 pm

Kerrigan smiled as he turned to her, relieved to know that he was alright. Waving him off as he asked how she was doing, knowing that his eyes instantly honed in her dried blood, she laughed softly, tucking her hair behind her ears as she glanced over her shoulder.

"Yea...some hero inside thought I was trying to seduce you, get you in a side alley and make you my next meal. No biggie," she said with a soft laugh, giving him a little wink as he took off the coat and put it over the dead body on the ground. Her crimson eyes lingered on the body momentarily before her hunter counterpart turned back to her. Seeing his appearance and the slightly startled looks of the passers by, she chuckled, moving forwards as he suggested they move on, possibly going to get another drink.

"Yea, you do look pretty funny," she said, giving him a soft nudge as she walked up next to him to show that she was only kidding. All he would have to say was that he was part of a renegade hunting group. People on the streets would more than likely buy it since they lived in constant fear of being snatched into the shadows at any second. If anything, he would probably get worse looks for walking through the streets with her than his attire.

"Anyways, to Hunters, then?"

A crooked smile was the only real reply Marcus could return to the Huntress, now well aware of the situation between the Immortals and Mortals were now. Letting out a sigh and letting his hand run through his dark hair, which was now moist from sweat and dirt, A nod came from the dark armored man.

"I think that sounds like a lovely idea." With that, Marcus reloaded his automatic rifle, knowing full well there was always trouble around the next bend if fate wished it. Quickly moving to fetch his other empty clips, the experienced hunter gave a satisfying nod to the area before being his walk towards Hunter with his companion.

Grinning as she watched him tidy up the battle ground before he turned to her, agreeing with her idea of going back to Hunters. She had a feeling that the sun was going to make an appearance soon, and she needed to be back inside by then. Walking through the streets of the city with Raven, the pair made their way back to their starting point.

Jumped from the side walks and started to walk on the roof tops he was starting to wonder why he had every come back to this city. He was a higher hell demon and yet he was wondering a city for no reason, "I need something to do...." He looked down on the streets seeing humans and several immortals, all there souls bight and glowing.

Hunger drove him through the city as he dived from rooftop to rooftop. Despite the wounds he suffered earlier, the wide brim hunter was as strong as he was prior to his first meal in the busy city of New York. Like a shadow with black wings flapping through the night air, the pale skinned figure finally made it to a small section of the city which was more quieter than the rest of it. Upon a quick survey, one might be able to say the whole neighborhood carried a very humble appearance with its clean front porches and neat streets. Very pricey vehicles were parked in front of the brick apartments. Most of the windows displayed that the residences were either asleep or not home; all except one.

At the far end of the block, a nice little white painted brick building stood. Though all the windows were closed tight and the lights off, one at ground level was open and very inviting. Moving into a better position, the lone vampire gazed inside using his heightened inhuman senses to spot a young girl no older than fifteen using a flashlight to aid her out the window. From what she wore, it appeared she was hoping to head to some kind of punk fest or some such. Pink and green streamers were braided into her flowing blond hair as she paused to see if anyone else spotted her.

Grinning, the malicious hidden monster watched with intensity as she adjusted the black tight outfit she wore and turned off her flashlight and used the light from the streetlamps to guide her on her merry way. Surveying the area once more, the girl seemed a bit uneasy, as though someone or something was watching her. Little did she know, she was right to be afraid. Moving a few buildings ahead of her, the dark clothed vampire crouched in position as he guesstimated the route of the young party girl.

In moments, the young girl was quickening her pace as she made it to the abandoned darker portion of the city. Glancing over her shoulders several times, the girl's bright blue eyes scanned for threats, knowing there was one out there, but not to be seen. The monster's undead body quivered, for the smell of fear radiated out of her louder than a mouse in the jaws of a cat. Feeling the lust for the young pure blood ooze from his core, the vampire made his leap. Like a falling bird of prey with demonic wings flapping due to the wind, the wide brim hat wearing demon landed right on top of the girl, letting his momentum lead into a roll that carried the female with him into a dark alley.

Not wasting time, the Immortal tore into the young girl's smooth and soft throat, ripping the life out of her instantly. Not wishing to fight the little woman's body jerking uncontrollably, the vampire placed an inhuman firm grip on the lilthe body as his mouth filled itself with the girl's blood. The describable feeling that came like waves over the vampire was remarkably unearthly. Though it has been a few decades since the monster has feed on a virgin, the beast knew exactly what kind of strength and power born from the clean blood. Finishing up what was left, the bloodied cloaked man threw the limp small body of the female hard against a brick wall, causing its bone to break and to leave a small splatter stain on the wall.

Staring into the crisp night sky, it felt like a whole new world opened for the young looking monster. He could hear the heartbeat of everyone in the block, sensing their dreams and nightmares. From the distance, the wide brim hat stranger thought he could hear conversation exchanged between his enemy, though the demonic vampire knew this was probably a hallucination brought about by the virgin blood. Either way, the monster in black could feel his wounds suffered earlier vanish. Not only that, but he was near invulnerable for the next couple of days due to the young woman's sacrifice.

Glancing with pity behind his crimson eyes, the cloaked figure wiped out his long sword in one fluid motion and went over to the dead woman. Seeing how the girl was bitten, it would only be a matter of days for the young lady to turn. Not wishing to have another young inexperienced vampire running around his new home, the deadly vampire flicked his wrist and watched in silence as the head of the girl rolled apart from her young body.

Pleased with his slice, the figure sheathed his weapon and lowered his hat over his glowing demonic eyes. "Nomen Patri, Filli, et Spiriti Sancti." With that, the dark cloaked man vanished into the darkness as he scaled the brick wall in moments and vanished over the rooftops, checking out a new location and perhaps find a little fun.
