Lori smiled. "I'm glad," he said, and then nodded, "but me too." He leaned over and kissed Luca's cheek while caressing the other with gentle fingertips. There were no words for how this man made him feel. It was warm and soft and strong and wonderful. He looked forward to their dates all week.
"I could just sit here with you for hours."

Luca's heart did a little dance. Was it possible Lori felt the same way? He smiled at him, moving to kiss him. "I feel the same way," he admitted. "I'd stay here with you forever if I could."

Forget the remote. Forget the movie. Lori gladly leaned in for that kiss. It was a relief to hear that Luca felt the same way. They always did things when they were together, maybe they didn't have to this time. Maybe they should just enjoy time with each other.
"Well, we have tonight," he said, voice softened. It'd be their first over-night date. He hadn't fallen asleep with someone in his arms in... way too long. Way too long. Especially not someone who deserved it. His flesh was tingling at the mere idea. Nothing had to happen. He didn't think it would. So why was he so excited?
He really liked Luca. A lot. More than anyone before, even.

"Yeah, we have tonight," Luca agreed, reaching to muss Lori's hair. "Just being here fills my heart." With joy. With anticipation. The thrill of being in love, but the fear of being rejected. "I wanted to tell you something," he said, pulling away from Lori slightly and looking into his eyes.
"I think I'm falling in love with you, Lori."

Lori's smile bloomed. He didn't think he was one for this mushy stuff but it felt incredible. He adored sharing moments like this with Luca. They had been more frequent as of late and a little deeper.
When Luca said he wanted to tell him something, though, that struck just a little fear into his heart. What horrible secret did Luca have? No, no, he couldn't expect that of him. He felt he knew Luca. Whatever he had to share, Lori was ready for. He took Luca's hand, met his eyes, and listened.
Oh.
Oh boy.
He hadn't been expecting that.
His smile flickered. Lori opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. This was what it was, wasn't it? It was love. This warmth and joy and fullness. Dear god, he was in love. His heart began to thump in his chest. His breath half-caught.

Luca pulled away further. Lori's smile had dropped, clearly the elf hadn't expected this. Was this another friends with benefits thing? No, Lori wasn't like that. Maybe it'd been too soon?

He could see the joy falling out of Luca's face. No, no, he had to stop that. He was choking on his own words, but he leaned forward quickly to capture Luca's lips with his. His hand was trembling when he brought it to the elf's face. Love. That was what this was. It was terrifying. He could feel himself shaking and his heart and lungs had run off without him, but he kissed his boyfriend deeply and lovingly. If he couldn't use words, could he use actions? Breath huffed from his nostrils as he pulled away. More silence. He ran his hand back over Luca's hair.
"I've never been in love before." His voice was deep. It had just sort of tumbled out of him but the implications were there.

Why was Lori trembling? That surprised Luca as well. He'd never had someone tremble against him. He returned the kiss, just as lovingly, and paused.
Really? A great guy like Lori hadn't found love before? Did that mean--did Lori love him too?

He was trying to say it with the kiss and with his eyes. Yes, he loved him, but it was to frightening to say. He took a deep breath and leaned in for another kiss instead, then lingered there nearly forehead-to-forehead. It would be easier if he wasn't looking him in the eye.
"I love you." Not 'might,' not 'falling,' it was just true. He knew that now. Only when he'd said it did his eyes flicker up to meet Luca's again. He was still trembling.

Luca's breath hitched. Lori loved him. And he was still trembling. He kissed him again. "I love you," He said, voice full of warmth. He wanted to cry--he wanted to show Lori how much he meant to him.

This kiss meant something more than any had before. Lori could feel it as their lips met. A strong hand caressed Luca's hair and the other wrapped around the elf's waist to pull him even closer.

The night went beautifully; they didn't do much after that, enjoying each other's company and eventually falling asleep in each other's arms.
The full moon came sooner than Maia expected, but only because she'd forgotten to keep an eye on the calendar. Days blended together.
She'd brought a basket of fruit, most home grown, into the room where Toby was working. She planted a kiss on his cheek. "I brought this for later," she said.

Toby wasn't worrying about much. The boys were already here. Dari had taken over for him for a while so they could have a chat before they got ready to transform. As of yet there were no new reports of weres since the last full moon and so he was mostly there just in case. Dari lounged nearby in an office chair.
Toby smiled and leaned his cheek into the kiss, then turned to see what she had brought.
"So when you think 'werewolf' you think 'juicy fruit?' What have I done to you?" he teased.

"When I think my boyfriend, I think oranges," she corrected, smiling at him. She leaned up to capture his lips in a kiss. "I figured you'd need them." He was going to be up all night, and he'd need a lot of food.
"Working hard?"

Toby smiled and returned the kiss. Nearby, Dari was smiling too.
"Sure. It's always nice to have something other than cafeteria food." He had never been a fan of raw meat, but he imagined if he had spent his first few transformations elsewhere he'd have been used to it by now.
"Um! Not really, actually. Just waiting."
