Rei lay content on the grass in the courtyard, enjoying the sunshine's warmth. His messenger bag, filled with papers, lay next to him. His Zubat, the Countess, hung lazily under the drawbridge.

"Well, time to go, I guess. This place was nice while it lasted." He slowly raised himself from his comfy spot, picked up his bag, and headed towards the entrance.

Maddy smiled as they were approached by two more Aquans.
"Awesome. Let's get going, guys. Everyone else can catch up."
With that, she picked her backpack up off the ground and hoisted it onto her back and she slung her handbag onto one of her shoulders.

The journey to their new temporary HQ begun as the group left Camphier Town through the western exit and entered Route 7.
Maddy was pleased to see that the Snorlax had since been removed and no longer barred the way to the rest of the route.
"It seems Shabboneau's owner lived up to his word." She said, as they crossed the bridge and came up alongside a river.
"So, how have you all been?" She asked everyone over her shoulder.

Michael nodded and followed Maddy away from the castle. As they neared route 7 he heard her ask a question directed at everyone, to which he replied. "Good Captain. How 'bought yourself?"

Maddy smiled as they came up to Connecting Cave.
"I've been fairly good. It was stressful preparing a new place for us to stay."
She let out a small sigh.
"Unfortunately, it's just another temporary spot. I don't see us staying here long."
Rei's question then piqued her interest.
"The cave system by Ambrette? I planned on just passing through that town, but that sounds interesting. We'll definitely check that out."
She figured stopping by the caves might give the others a chance to catch up and would make for a nice little adventure.

They entered Connecting Cave as a group and were immediately welcomed by it's damp and dark atmosphere. The inside of the cave was a huge contrast to the nice day it was outside.
Maddy reached into her pocket and took out her TADS, flipping it open and using it as a light. It wasn't very dark in the cave, but she didn't want anyone to trip and hurt themselves.
It didn't take long for the wild Pokemon of the cave to notice their presence. The Pokemon seemed to have become accustomed to the cave not getting any traffic because of the Snorlax blocking Route 7, and gladly swarmed the small group!
"Tch." Maddy pulled a Pokeball off her belt. "Let's deal with some of these Pokemon!"

[Everyone fight one wild Pokemon or a Horde. Single Pokemon that can be encountered include Zubat, Whismur, Meditite, and Axew. As for Hordes, only the Pokemon Whismer, Zubat, and Axew will Horde in this area. A Horde is a group of 5 of the same Pokemon, remember. Also, if you defeat a Horde by using only one Pokemon, that Pokemon will gain 2 evo points instead of the usual one. Catch one Pokemon if you desire. Reserve your post. smile ]

Maddy threw the Pokeball that contained her Frogadier as a Horde of Zubats swooped down on her.
"Blizzard!" She cried, as her froggy companion appeared onto the field.
Frogadier nodded and conjured up a powerful ice storm. Three out of the five attacking Zubats were wiped out completely by the attack, but one avoided it altogether and the last managed to just barely hang on. The healthy Zubat swooped down and slammed Frogadier hard in the chest with one of it's leathery wings. The other used it's Leech Life attack to deal a tiny bit of damage and restore some of it's HP.
"Ice Beam the healthy Zubat!"
Maddy's Pokemon did as he was told and shot a strong beam of ice at the healthiest attacker. The beam struck home, KO'ing the little bat. The remaining Zubat flapped it's wings furiously, creating a sharp blade of wind to hit it's opponent. The attack dealt a critical hit!
"Finish it off with Quick Attack!"
Frogadier lunged forward with blinding speed and finished off his last opponent. Maddy returned her Pokemon and waited for the others to finish their battles.

As the group headed into Connecting Cave, Rei's Zubat raised its head and flew ahead of her master. He ran after her, also happy to be in familiar terrain.

"Wait up, Countess! Don't be so hasty!" He sprinted off after his Pokémon and entered the cave, his boots crunching on the damp earth and Zubat guano. A short distance away, the Zubat stopped and hovered over a group of rambunctious Axew. Rei grabbed a Pokéball from his belt. After years of living in caverns with his Zubat, the two had developed a strong, nonverbal communications system that helped him avoid (or in this case, find) groups of wild Pokémon.

"Thanks, Countess," he muttered under his breath. He threw out his Pokéball and confronted the Axew.

"Alright Cho, let's get rid of this group. Poison Tail." The Venipede's tail glowed purple, and with a running start it lashed out at the two nearest Axew. Both were knocked to their feet, and one Axew was poisoned, its small body shivering. The remaining three glared at the Venipede, and the middle one swiped out at the attacker, scratching against Cho's thorax. That Axew was poisoned for its efforts, unfortunately; Venipede's Poison Point made it a particularly vicious Pokémon when physically attacked.

Venipede dodged another swipe and spat out its special poison, Venoshock, at the downed, poisoned Axew, making short work of it. The furthest poisoned Axew began dancing in a frenzy, and Rei called out to Cho.

"Don't let it get the chance to attack you! Target the dancing one!" Venipede spat out another Venoshock and was raked on the abdomen in return.

"Two down, three to go! Poison Tail again!" The Venipede lashed out again, downing the already injured one and slapping another across the face.

One Axew rushed out to headbutt the Venipede, angered at its damage, while the other made a frightening face at the Bug-type. Venipede was too distracted by the face to avoid the attack. Pain rippled through its body as it took the full force on the head, and it staggered. Rage replaced pain, and it spat on its tail and struck savagely against its foes. The two were downed, and an exhausted Cho placed its paper top hat back on and bowed to the worthy challenges before returning to its Pokéball.

"Good job, Cho." Rei called his Zubat over and returned to the group.

As they entered the cave Michael had his Electrike use flash just so everyone could see. As they continued walking a group of five Axew appeared in front of him and his friends. Running the pokemon information through his head he remembered what type and the general moves an Axew knows. "Well Squirt it looks like you're up." Squirtle ran out in front of the group of Axew and smiled. "Squirt use icy wind." Squirtle launched the icy wind and hit three of the Axews which in turn countered with dragon breath. Two of the breaths missed but the third hit Squirt, while the other two Axew used dragon dance. Squirtle then repeated the same technique and knocked the three Axew out. This time one Axew used dragon claw and the other used dragon dance again. The claw caught Squirt and nearly knocked him out. "Squirt use skull bash" The Squirtle lowered it's head into it's shelland prepared to launch the attack. The Axew used dragon breath which luckily missed. Squirt then fired the Skull Bash and lunged at one Axew. It luckily hit and knocked the Axew into a wall and fainted. The final one looked at the Squirt and then launched a dragon claw, which Squirt jumped out of the way. "Squirt use icy wind one more time." Squirt launched the icy wind which luckily hit the Axew. Michael then pulled out a Pokeball and threw it at it. The pokemon disappeared in a flash of light and the ball hit the ground. Once twice three times it shook, before a small ding was heard. "Yeah we got a new friend. Good job Squirt."

Once the wild Pokemon had been fended off, Maddy waited for everyone to regroup and then they went on their way again. The cave was fairly short, and soon they stepped out onto Route 8.
They found themselves on a cliff, overlooking the ocean and a beautiful beach. They were awfully high up though.
It seemed to Maddy that the only way they could go was south to Ambrette Town.
"I guess we should keep going then..."

The journey to the town was fairly uneventful. Upon arriving, Maddy noted that Ambrette was fairly small.
"Geez. Couldn't stay here if I wanted to..."
They passed by a sign that said something about Glittering Cave and riding Rhyhorn.
"I guess that must be the cave systems spoken of around here..."
Maddy turned to everyone.
"You guys can explore the town a little. I'll go and see about getting to that cave for a little fun."
