River laughed. "See? You could see more shops if you didn't go to the really interesting ones."

"What's the point in looking at stuff if they're not interesting?" Amalirahc questioned, staring at River incredulously. "If it's not going to be interesting then there's no point in going!"

Miyuki giggled at Amalirahc since she understood what River meant, "I think she means the less interesting shops. All shops are interesting, you just need to know what to look for. All places have something they do the best at."

Miyuki understood this very well because she liked seeing how things were different and how things were the same.

"Not all of them," Amalirahc challenged her. "There are some really boring shops - like the manuscript shop! Nothing but empty books! Boring!"

River giggled. "It's a matter of taste," she pointed out to the boy. "Different people like different things. Besides, you're not interested in most things."

Amalirahc shrugged. He knew it was true. He liked being active, and shops just weren't active. He couldn't argue with River.

"I like the manuscript shop, true... it's not as interesting as the book shops in Gaia, but they have better books to write in I think," Miyuki replied thoughtfully.

And she liked the smell of paper and leather that was used for the books.

"And Amalirahc is interested in a lot of things, just nothing that means sitting down for a long time."

"Yeah, like foot ball!" Amalirahc exclaimed.

River laughed. "I know, I know. And we'll get to do that this morning, right? So you can calm down a bit Amalirahc."

"No I can't," the boy replied, bouncing in his seat. "I'm too excited!"

River giggled. "Well then when Miyuki and I are finished eating, we'll look for your parents to take us to the city, all right?"

Miyuki nodded at this as she continued eating her breakfast. She didn't want to eat too fast, that wouldn't be good for her and she wanted to have fun not a stomach ache.

Besides, it was a good breakfast and she was hungry. Soon enough she was finished eating and looked over to River to see if she was finished eating too.

River had finished eating a bit before Miyuki, as she wasn't a big eater, and she was looking around anxiously for Kelirahc and Leyenda.

"Amalirahc," she murmured, reaching over and poking him, "where are your parents? Aren't they going to take us?"

Amalirahc looked around as well. "Probably in our room," he decided. "I'll go get them and meet you in the main hall, okay?"

"Alright," Miyuki agreed.

Amalirahc would know where his parents were so it was better if he got them instead of her and River.

"We'll wait for you there then."

Pushing her plate away she got up from her seat.

River got up as well. "I'm going to tell Grandmama and Grandpapa that Kelirahc and Leyenda are going to be taking us," she told Miyuki. "I don't want them to worry about me. I'll meet you at the door, too."

And she darted off after Amalirahc, though at a much more sedated pace.

Miyuki pondered this for a moment, she had already told her parents she was going to go out with her friends into the city, and it was already an unspoken rule that they would not go without grown ups. Getting up from her seat she decided maybe she should ask if her parents too were heading to the tailor's later on as well.

It wasn't until after she had talked to her parents did she wait at the door for her friends.

River arrived shortly after Miyuki, and for once it was Amalirahc who was the last to arrive with his parents.

"Ready to go?" Kelirahc asked cheerfully as Leyenda checked her bag one final time.

"Ready!" River agreed readily.

"Yea!" Miyuki nodded excitedly.

She tried her very best not to bounce on her heels, but she was excited with the thought of being able to play with other children again.

Kelirahc laughed. "All right, off we go then. We're going to be walking, but we'll go quickly so that it doesn't take too long."

The walk really was about the same distance as the walk from Ulani and Ulrich's house to the ranch house - quite a distance, but a walkable distance.

"Come on, you guys!" Amalirahc cried gleefully, racing outside.

"Hey! Don't run off on us!"

Miyuki called out before chasing after Amalirahc, because she knew if they let him he would run really far without them.

Amalirahc led the children to the city and immediately started leading them through the maze of streets. He had been there many times before, and he knew the way.

River made sure to keep him in sight, though she also made sure that Miyuki didn't fall behind. Amalirahc was much faster than both of them, after all, being as he was taller than either of them.

They couldn't get lost anyways, though - Leyenda and Kelirahc were following them at a more leisurely pace. They were only going to be observing anyways, so they saw no reason to hurry.
