AlaLavei DDD: Go with me on this. Shinya looks like a woman sometimes. Toshiya looks like a woman sometimes. Kaoru might look like a woman sometimes. Die might look like a woman sometimes if you've ingested large amounts of alochol.Kyo hardly ever looks questionable. So then why is it that when I wear my Cage!Kyo shirt to school everyone goes, "Who's that chick?" Because in most countries, it isn't common for men to wear makeup like that. Generally, the women wear makeup to such degree, thus leading someone to believe that someone wearing makeup so extensively is a girl. Let's face it (and I'm assuming you live in the US, correct me if I'm wrong), you don't usually walk down the street seeing guys wearing such elaborate makeup, if any makeup at all. Predominantly, girls wear makeup, ne? Just like You don't normally see someone (who is feminine in appearance) wearing a dress and assume it's a man. If you dress like a girl, don't be shocked if people assume you're a girl. (That being said I have to laugh at Kyo when, in an interview, he said this: I do hate being "effeminate". I really hate the effeminate things. Also, one silly band has created a weird imagery of visual rock like 'queers' to other people. I never want Dir en Grey to be judged like this. And you know every visual band almost looks the same. So I wanted to find a strictly different direction of our visual imagery, and maybe we are the 'visual rock breakers' or 'visual rock drop outs.' Because he wears dresses, and makeup, which are effeminate, because those are the kinds of things girls traditionally wear. If that isn't, what is? And all of Diru has perdominantly dressed like other VK bands, with their black cloths, and PVC, big shoes, girlish/wound makeup, unnaturally colored crazy hair, etc. Seems a bit hypocritical to me.)

Generally, a LOT of Asians are short, so it isn't that surprising.

BS! America survived Kiss. Make-up is not uncommon in the least. I'd also like to note here that Cage!Kyo is not wearing a dress.

The makeup of the US glam rock bands weren't done to look feminine rather a means to look absolutely gaudy.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v331/miztress_9/lip.jpg That, is kyo's lovely little collection of 3-4? rings on one lip o_O; yes. now I have a question D: hopefully someone can answer this. I'm looking into getting my lip pierced because oddly enough my mom would rather me pierce my lip than dye my hair before 16 o_o; moving on. Is this piercing something only Kyo can pull off you think D: ? and does anyone know if it's like 3 piercings or did he stuff them all into one o_o; I need information on his lip piercing x_x;

I'm not sure which. But it would hurt alot to stuff 3 rings into one piercing. You'd probably rip it wide open and end up with just one huge hole. If you're looking to get the same look Kyo-san has, go for 3 separate piercings, I think.

If you're looking to get the same look Kyo-san has, go for 3 separate piercings, I think.I'd rather recomend you to stuff them in the same hole, but make sure the gauge of the rings is tiny. If you get 3 different piercings as close as that the most probable thing happening is that the flesh inbetween them will rip open (and believe me having to get surgery for something like that isn't pleasant) After all there are different gauges ^^ but make sure the piercing is well healed before putting it under that kind of stress. Putting 3 in will surely stretch it a bit but as long as therings are not far too big it'll go back to it's usual self after a while. If I take off any of mine (I've got 5) for more than 1 day the hole gets really tiny and it hurts like hell to put them back on >.<

Just out of curiousity, Namida, do you know what time Kyo said this? Like, what songs they had out and what their look had been at the time? I have this weird little theory that Kyo might not have liked being visual (in the EFFEMINATE sense... it is fairly evident that he enjoys being visual in the spikey, razor-sharp sense), and as time progressed throughout their career, this slowly moved away from the lacy, frilly look they started out with. Or maybe is fickle in the mind or something. ~Shrugs~ Lacy or spikey, the man has style.
