I ask only if you have any information pertaining to the pair behind a certain killing of my kin, some few months ago, and if you do, that I may have it in exchange that our paths never again cross.

Remember saying that, DeSeer? Remember that I answered yoru query? And that I have not gotten involved in DeSeer business since? What the ******** do you think you're DOING?!

*Irate was the correct word, but Mathieu didnt shout until the last bit. When last Iden and he had met, business had been concluded, or at least so it had seemed. He was actually quite suprised Iden was here at all*

I remember that your helpers, using your arms, ended up laying siege to my home, ruining my family and causing untold strife for me and mine. So, frankly...I'm wrapping up loose ends.

Iden didn't remember those words. In truth, he likely wouldn't have remembered, even if he hadn't had his memories removed. Thus, he was at the moment more or less indifferent.

So, right now, I'm finding out where those arms came from, where your Wyrmling support base is, and maybe after that we'll see if I'm feeling merciful.

A shrug came, followed by an afterthought.

Or you could start swearing, raging, and in general being an annoyance, and I could just end you here and now. Your call, mate.

My helpers? Sure, they help out here because they want product. But it wasnt ME who sent them to Durem to rout you ********. That was your OWN quarrel with their master. Or did you think I was somehow magically strong enough to control Abaddon? Hmm?

Naive stuck up little s**t... I fulfilled my end of the bargain and where my shipments come in from is hardly your business. Unlike you, I dont ask too many questions, especially of creatures like the Wyrm.

Merciful... Ive seen your kind of mercy. And you've just proved you're hardly a man of your word. You, sir, and untrustworthy. that doesnt make it worth bargaining with you, or debasing myself by letting secrets slip or pelading for my life.

*Mathieu's tone was bordering on incredulous. Surely Iden couldnt think HE had organised the work of the abominations? Quite the opposite.*
PostPosted: Fri Sep 24, 2010 2:47 pm

Didn't think so.

And with that, Iden pulled from his holster his .45, and blew Matthieu's head away. No mercy, no reason except that he was just that damn irritated.

Dump the body for the sun. We're done here.

......
As you wish.

*Javos said nothing and turned his head away. It was Alyna who reached in for the body and tossed it out onto the sand, leaving just the wet blood stains in the car to mark where the man had once sat.

Silently, Alyna climbed into the passenger seat, while Javos slid into the back seats, where it was still clean. This left Iden to drive. Neither Ceilican said a word, and merely waited for Iden to make the decision about what flight they were catching home*

The drive was fairly quiet, up until Will spoke up. Iden did not take his eyes off the road as he considered the answer.

We're visiting a piece of clan history, mate. We're visiting a shrine; it'll make more sense if I explain on site.

"One of those 'have to see it for yourself' kind of things I'm guessing? How long are we gonna be in Japan; a day, week?"

Getting comfortable in the seat, Will was shifting his gaze from the world outside to the man in the drivers seat as they went.

Honestly, kid, it depends. Likely a few days; we're going to look at an old shrine. If it's still as sanctified and untouched as it should be, we'll about face and leave the next day, most likely.

Another bend, another pass onto the highway; it would be a few minutes yet before reaching the airport, and it seemed Will had more than a few questions. Iden couldn't take his eyes off the road for more than a glance at the hybrid, so he couldn't catch Will's reaction.

"Heh, and who wants to place a bet on how 'untouched' this shrine is? With our track record it'll be crawling with baddies."

Relaxing into his seat, Will continued watching the city pass by trying to pass the time until they reached the airport.

"How are we flying, public or private charter?"
PostPosted: Mon Oct 25, 2010 11:25 am

I s'pose you'll be happy to have your ammunition then, won't you kiddo?

The drive persisted mostly in silence from that point onward. Iden had very little to say on the matter; Will's question would go unanswered for all of the remaining handful of minutes between them and the airport.

When they got out of the car, Iden passed Will a boarding pass.

Public transport, kindred owned; it's how we can pretty much be sure I won't burn alive when we get going. If nothing else, this is the one part where things are most likely to go wrong, but it's also the plan least likely to turn into a ********. Just make sure you use the ID in the packet.

And with that, Iden led the way to security, and all the joyous things that came with.

Taking the boarding pass and credentials that Iden was handing him, Will played his part all throughout the flight and up until they where in their rental car driving away from the airport. Fiddling with the radio and getting comfortable in his seat, Will took up his usual past time of watching his surroundings to see what was happening outside in the world.

"So, when do our other bags get here, or will they be waiting at a predetermined location ready for us when we need them?"
PostPosted: Tue Nov 16, 2010 4:14 pm

They'll be at the hotel. We're making a brief stop there, then we go check the shrine.

Iden, as ever, had chosen to drive the rental. Wheeling about to take the shortest route to get them to the hotel, he was very quick to reach the reserved room, grab the duffel, and haul it back to the car. He would arm up en route to the shrine, though his armaments consisted solely of his gauntlets and a single .45 handgun.

Suitably geared and ready, it was time to pay an old "friend" a visit.

Following Iden's lead up to the room, Will went to his bag and immediately gave it a quick once over; making sure that none of the items in it where damaged or removed. Satisfied that everything was as he had left it, Will reached in and pulled out his snub nosed S&W M500 and stuck it in one of his jackets inner pockets along with two speed loaders before zipping the bag back up and placing it in the rooms closet.

"So, where to now; that shire you have told me about, or another stop before hand?"
PostPosted: Mon Nov 22, 2010 5:54 pm

Iden nodded with brief approval as Will pocketed a single weapon and nothing else. Knowing full well anything more would be useless and outright excessive, he turned to the door, quite satisfied with arrangements.

Shrine. We're making straight for there, no sense in wasting time while we've got it.

And with that, Iden led the way back to the car. There was little conversation on the way; any attempts all led back to the same solemn silence. Clearly not in a talking mood, Iden was heading back to a place he couldn't particularly claim to want to be at.

Debarking from the car had them stood perhaps a block away from the site. Iden checked his weapon, ensured that it was hidden away in his duster, then nodded for Will to follow.

The brief hike was performed in near silence, taking them to a more stealthy route towards the shrine. Using hand signals and a brief whispered word of caution, Iden made sure Will was aware that they were trespassing, and being caught would result in bad things. They would need to be discreet up until they were at the shrine itself, which would involve a little digging, since last he had visited Iden had seen the entrance sealed.

*The Shrine was quiet, nothing showing outside. But the entrance WASNT sealed anymore. Not by a long shot.

On approach to the place, the area was screened off behind chain link portable fencing. On this fencing, signs basically along the lines of 'Do Not Cross'.
The fact that the area within was then filled with buckets, shovels, pick axes and a variety of brushes in varying sizes...

Archaeologists dig site. Surveillance covered the site in the form of CCTV and porta-cabins with 3 lights on in various windows indicated there was also some form of onsite staff.*
