“What are you looking at?” Gallen knew Cody was staring at his changes, “Feel proud that I was wrong and you where right?” His voice was harsh as he got up and walked to eth waters edge, the tattoo of the Celtic family knot visible on his right shoulder blade. “I have no idea what I am becoming, and I am afraid they may have botched…..like those things they had splayed along the path to the graveyard.”

Cody paied little attention to Gallen's question. He was staring mesmerizedly at the patterns showing in the hairline
But the spell broke off when Gallen got up. Right in time too, because he was about to poke the head to make sure they weren't painted on
"Hm? What graveyard? What things?"

“You were not ta the Halloween party? Well good thing it was not really for kids. There is a graveyard. The labs techs thought it be funny to lead us up there show us failed experiments and then a graveyard were it seems they have buried there people who came here and died during these transformations.” Gallen’s moved before his mind caught up, then he realized he had said all this to a little kid.

Cody couldn't believe it. Failed experiments, people who died? This couldn't be true. It had to be some kind of stupid joke for halloween. They couldn't be turning people into animals if they could die in the transformations.... right?

Gallen looked over his shoulder back to the small dolphin boy sitting on the beach with a sad look, then back to the sea. “maybe we can escape and find a new home…..I don’t know, all I know is I want to find a cure and stop these changes.” His voce shook a little; he was trying not to cry. “I just do not want to ……. So how you been doing, Cody?”

Cody found everything Gallen was saying strange. Usually this guy was just a plain idiot, but the boy could tell something happend to him since he last saw him. And that got him worried
"Ok, but... what happened?"

Gallen sighed; he could not tell the boy anymore. “Nothing is wrong Cody.” He smiled as he rubbed the back of his neck.

Why, why, why people always kept the truth from him. He just hated it, hated feeling like he was kept in the dark

“DAMIT CODY!!!!!! People are dieing here and the lab tech don’t give a damn!!! Understand. I was not lying I was trying not to hurt you. And if anyone else has lied to you it was most likely for the same reason.” He stood there angry then he realized he had blown up at the small boy.

Cody could not believe it. Cody did not want to believe it. But... was that why everyone hated the changes? Why everyone did not want to believe this was true? Because people died?
No, this couldn't be true. It was too much to take, too much to swallow. But... he just didn't know what to think
He just sat there, staring into infinity. He maybe was a kid, but he wasn't dumb. He had noticed the grown ups acted strangely, every single one he had met. He was just too stubborn, too naive to believe that something was wrong, that the changes were more than a new scientific advancement
But then what did it mean his changes? Was it really to cure him, or something worse? He just didn't know...

Gallen turned around and looked at the blank look in Cody’s eyes. “Cody I do not know exactly what is going on, but…but..” he walked over to him and knelt down in the sand. He pulled the boy to him and held him. “I am sorry.”

Cody was startled again when Gallen hold him and he tried to shove him away, more out of surprise than anything
"Leave me alone. I'm not a little kid anymore"
This information was way too overwealming. He needed to do something, anything, anything that could restore the sense of normality, that everything was still fine
He ran towards the water, the only thing is this whole place that felt welcoming, secure..... home. It was the only place where he could actually ease the pressure and relax

Gallen let go and sighed, “ no your not a little kid.” He then watched Cody run back to the water. He got up and soon followed, diving into the surface and swimming a little ways out. he soon spalshed the little dolphin boy "I am sorry little guy. I did not mean to upset you” Oddly enough the water felt relaxing to him

The last thing he wanted right now was company. Kicking his tail hard and submerging, Cody swam away from Gallen. He had a lot to think about
