A black robed man walked quietly through a meadow bending down to pick certain plants as he went. Here a lichen there a orchid "ah a dead rat!" the man exclaimed "this is good I needed some rat teeth." He bent down and picked up the vermin; gripping it's head with one hand and it's body with the other he tugged, off came it's head. Tossing the body to the ground he opened a pouch and placed the head inside. Smiling in grim satisfaction he plodded on not seeming to pay attention to anything but his gathering.

Osiris wasn't stupid enough to touch an unknown substance that an enemy threw at him. He spun and grabbed a leaf off a nearby plant. Using it, he caught the gem for a second before slipping it into a pouch at his waist.
Osiris vanished a moment later and appeared before Netas.
"Calm down," he said soothingly, petting her head. "You know I love teleporting, but it gets just a bit tedious. So please dear, relax. We can shred him when Mistress Twilight gives the order."
Keeping a hand on her shoulder, he turned to Ted. "Now. Explain. What this thing is, where you got it, and what you're talking about in reference to Twilight.

Netas barely relaxed a little bit, and morphed into a large black panther instead. She crouched low, her belly brushing the ground as a low growl came from her.

Ted sat down, leaving himself obviously open. He requested help, and wasn't going to sabotage his own request by being stupid. "Alright, alright. One question at a time. First off, let me tell you a bit about myself, so you understand where I'm coming from. I am a spatial mage, with a hit of gravitational force. Now, I was forced into this world by some demons that thought it would would be fun to push around the little guy. They used one of my own portals and I ended up here.
"I happened to land in a giant lake, and the next thing I know is that my body is now holding two souls in it. Mine, and a demon by the name of Virgil. Virgil was one of the true shape shifters, which is how I can do some of those things earlier. Anyways, during the fight between me and Little Miss Temper, I was severely wounded, and needed to fuse with Virgil to fight. Hence the red eyes. As such, I am now a demon in addition to being human.
"Now, from all the stories I've heard about Twilight in this land, she is a demoness that originated from the nightmares of some very powerful people. I know some other demons like that, and I thought that Twilight might be similar, especially with the whole "take over the world' bit she has going on.
"As for the gem I tossed you, I found it when I jumped back into the lake I told you about earlier. That lake is pretty freaky, by the way. There's this giant creature way down in the depths that is emanating a large amount of chaos in magical form. As a result, there are plenty of fish that shouldn't even be capable of living, yet they do.
"When you scanned it, I noticed you got a bit dizzy. That is what truly amazes me. The gem is a void from any magical scans, yet it holds the power to hypnotize anyone who stares into the depths. It also absorbs the ambient magical energies that reside in the immediate area. What I wish to do is see if larger amounts of energy can be absorbed, and see what the gem does with it. Does it reproduce it? Does it amplify it? Does it convert it into another form? Does it just allow it to dissipate as something harmless? Can the energy be harnessed for your own benefit? And whether or not there is a limit on it. Is that enough information to satisfy your curiosity, and prove I don't mean you harm?"

Osiris smirked. "Not really. How exactly do you plan on running this little experiment of yours? On Twilight? Now that I can't allow." Osiris could definitely feel the gem from its place on his hip, and he didn't like what he felt. "I'll keep an eye on you.
"Netas. Go see Twilight and explain all this to her. If she wants, I can bring the gem to her. If not, then we can kill this guy. Go."

Ted started to laugh. A deep, hearty laugh that was at odds with his small frame. "You....you thought that I....I wanted Twilight to test this? Oh, that's rich. All I wanted was to talk with her. I wanted you to send the energy at me."

Osiris raised an eyebrow. "I'd recommend knocking off the condescending attitude. It's pissing me off." He withdrew the gem and threw it to Ted. "Now. What exactly do you want done?"

"Sorry bout the attitude, but I did find that amusing. Anyways, what kind of energy does your attacks use, and are you able to be affected by it? Cause if you are, then I would recommend sending it from a distance. But just send a small amount of energy at the gem, then we wait to see what happens, then we use as much energy as you can eject safely."

Osiris nodded thankfully after Netas as he regained his usual carefree composure.
"It's no problem. My energy is mostly magical, with a hint of physical. It's about as close to an all-magic attack a human can get." He held up his hand with the index finger and thumb out, like a gun. He let his thumb drop, sending a thin stream of energy at the gem.

Ted pulled the gem into the line of fire, and watched with some amusement as the beam encountered a small force field. Eventually, the beam punched though, and got absorbed into the gem. The gem reacted by glowing brighter, which Ted pointed towards an uninhabited wall, and said fire. A small amount of fire came out of the gem, but it wasn't strong enough to do anything. He said lightning immediately afterward, but nothing happened. Hmmm. Must have used up all the magical energy.
He looked up at Osiris. "Alright. It worked. Now to see what the limit is, if any. I would recommend that you stand back, because I have no idea what will happen. After you deem yourself far enough away, send out as much energy as you are willing to, please."

((I'm glad to see everyone coming back. And it seems we may have some new players soon. Once I collect my notes and thoughts I should be back in on a more regular basis. As I mentioned, my computer crashed a month ago and took most of my notes with it. As of right now, I just have to think of what Twilight was going to do to Shade then I can start again.))
