After having found her "Lord", finding her way back to the dojo, and being reunited with her friend Focht, Selyna had been taking it kind of easy. Her training in the forest had consisted of what might be recognised better as rehabilitation. Stretching her muscles and trying to rebuild her stamnia and endurance, she seemed to be happy with her progress and decided to give herself a break today. Strolling through the forest, she came to the open field that she and Rhea had spent the night in. Trying to push the fact that that was the last time she'd seen her, Selyna sat down on the gound near an old fallen log. Leaning back on it, she quickly sat up as the rotten wood gave way and fell backwards. Smiling a bit as she wiped off her oversized red button down shirt, she stretched her blue jean covered legs out straight in front of her and held herself up with her hands on the ground just behind her. She'd also been wearing her hair in a different manner lately, letting it hang in a full long ponytail, rather than her usual tight bun. Closing her eyes a bit to enjoy the breeze more, her smile widened as her hair tickled the tops of her hands.

Ka'rinth moved in his wolf form to the edge of the clearing, he had picked up Selyna's scent shortly after reawakening and was now stealthily stalking her. His paws made no sound as he moved and seemed to almost merge with the ground as he moved. He remained downwind as he moved to approach her back, the first noise to give him away would be the sudden series of pops and cracks of him assuming his human form. Red glowing eyes regarded Selyna and a cruel smile spread across his face even as the scarf rose to conceal all but his eyes and hair. He called to her, My, aren't we a lovely one? I think you'd be a superb addition to my collection. Are you also a warrior by chance? I have need of a warrior now.

Selyna's ears flicked towards the area behind her at the sounds of pops and she turned to regard a familiar man behind her. Though his face was nearly concealed, she was sure she'd seen him before. Regarding his voice and what he'd just said, she kind of laughed it off as someone joking and turned back around to enjoy the breeze once more as she said, Thanks for the compliment, and yes I do happen to be a warrior. Don't I know you from somewhere?.... Her eyes poppped open as slow realization kicked in. Aren't you Wolf? The guy that owns the last place I stayed in? She turned to regard him and started to get up, brushing her clothes off down to her ankles, her oversized shirt revealing a bit more cleavage than before. Standing, she now faced him with her thumbs hooked in her pockets. Fidgetting a bit, she bit her lip and spoke softly. Is Spyse still there? I kind of want to talk to her........

Ka'rinth smiled behind the scarf in a manner that would have made most nervous, however all that was visible was the corners of his eyes wrinkling into crow's feet. Yes and no. We're a difficult being to explain. I am called Ka'rinth and I have no qualms with you speaking to Spyse....in due time. Now however I wish to test your claim to being a warrior. As he spoke he stretched slowly and let his mind race, plans unfolded within his thoughts and suddenly he was focused. He dropped he left hand so that his wrist was even with his lowest ribs and made a fist of the hand while turning his right side towards the woman and holding his open palm out towards her. He bent his knees slightly to allow for a wider range of movement and attacks. Now show me that you aren't weak and I may decide to help you meet with Spyse and even act as a diplomat between you two. In truth Ka'rinth neither knew nor cared who this Spyse was, he had found a trophy he wished to possess and manipulate and it was time to begin working towards acquiring it.

Selyna stood there a moment looking blank as the man spoke, she didn't understand what he meant about "we're a difficult being to explain", but she did understand the part about showing she wasn't weak. Taking a few cautious steps back, she too bent her knees slightly so as to be prepared for a fight. Raising her hands in front of her, palms facing this Ka'rinth to show she didn't want to fight, she asked in a firm tone. What do you mean help me meet with her? I could go see her anytime I feel like. Though this was true in actuallity, there was a slight hesitation in her voice as she thought of their last encounter and how it may go if she were to just waltz back in there.

Ka'rinth shrugged casually before shifting his weight and sprinted towards her, his right side was still facing her and his open palm led his body as he ran. It would appear at a glance that it was aimed at her neck, however it was actually for defense and the balled fist for attack. He needed to see if this one was flawed or not before bothering to begin the first phase of his attack. His scarf trailed behind him as he ran, the tip flicking slightly out of sink with the wind and seeming to at times ignore it completely.

Her eyes widened for a moment at her show of peacefulness disregarded so, but then got into the mindframe of defending herself. Transforming herself into a cat to become a smaller target, she rushed towards him and to the left in an attempt to come up behind him and dodge his attack. If she succeeded in dodging his attack, he would turn to see her in her neko form again, crouching, with her right leg stretched to the side for easy take off and her finger tips on the ground, facing him.

As the woman shifted into a cat Ka'rinth smiled ever more broadly before his body twisted into that of the large black wolf once more. A growl rose from his throat as he pounced at an angle to land on the cat if it didn't change direction. White teeth gleamed as intelligent golden eyes decided that this would in fact be the perfect one. Even as his hackles rose Ka'rinth prepared on opening his favored weapon and upping the stakes to something Selyna would most likely find unacceptable.

Hearing the growl come from her side, her body naturally recoiled and gave her a split second to again try to dodge. Her ears flattened and her eyes showed just a hint of anger as she realized this man was trying to kill her. If she successfully dodged, she would reappear in her leopard form and try to bat the wolf's face away long enough to stall for another attack.

As she shifted into her leopard form and swung at his face Ka'rinth gave no indication of dodging. He appeared to be a wolf but regardless of appearence he was more. The paw would pass over the body of a raven which would then backwing to land ten feet away and shift back into human form. Ka'rinth then nodded and said simply, Superb, much more than I had expected. I've decided that you will become mine. As he spoke Ka'rinth held his hand out and a carved wooden quarter staff rose from the ground. It was seven feet tall and four inches thick and engraved with wolves and ravens. He smiled and opened his soul void, immediately Selyna would feel a tug on her soul, the tug would increase or decrease based on her proximity to Ka'rinth. He called out once more before charging, Let's see how strong your will is, I suggest you fight in a human form if you want a chance at survival. That said his charge continued as he held the staff with his right hand on the upper third and his left on the lower. He was ready to stike or swipe with either based on her reaction.

What kind of creature is this to be able to transform to different species?..... Selyna transformed back into a neko as he spoke in a crouching position and a snarl crossed her lips as she spoke with a growl as an under tone. Become yours?! She reached to her right leg for her Kris, risked a glance at her side, and cursed herself as she remembered leaving it on her dresser. In the instant that she looked away, she felt a feeling like none she'd ever known. As if someone were pulling her, but she wasn't moving. Standing as she quickly cast about for the source, she tried to focus on her oncoming opponent and decided that if she stopped him, whatever this feeling was would stop. Pulling against an invisible force, she tried to concentrate on her attacker instead and prepared herself for a fight. Stepping back with her right leg, she raised her left arm to block and balled her right fist to try and make contact. Her leg also tensed a bit in case a kick was needed instead.

Ka'rinth saw her raise her left arm to block and pushed off his right foot so that his right shoulder was aimed at her arm. His intent was to either knock her over or unbalance her. He was prepared to be punched in return but was hoping to get too close for her to kick him. The staff remained held in his hands but was not yet brought into use. The pull on her soul would grow at a near exponential rate as he moved closer, by the time he was next to her it would have changed from a tug to a sensation as though her soul were being ripped away. So long as she focused on keeping her soul and had the will power to link her spirit and body it would just be an uncomfortable feeling. If Selyna were to lose her willpower or not attempt to keep her soul it would be sucked into the void.

In an instant Selyna felt as if she were being torn about while still whole. Grabbing her head and squeezing her eyes in pain, she was hit by Ka'rinth and knocked over, her right shoulder and arm hitting the ground pretty hard, her head only saved by the fact she was holding it. The feeling of being seperated from herself subsided a bit as she slid further away from the man. She pushed herself up, a rip in her sleeve at the shoulder on the right side, a bruise slowly but surely turning purple on the back of that hand, and her ponytail coming around from the left side of her face nearly covering it. She heaved a bit while staring intently at him, sweating beading her forehead. Biting her lip, she had to tell herself that what he was doing was an illusion. How could he tear me from myself really? She continued to watch him as she stood, though a bit shakily. Her leftside closest to him, she raised both fists to him and huffed a bit of hair from her face, her right sleeve hanging a bit loosely. All the while, concentrating on pushing his illusion out of her mind.

Ka'rinth nodded to himself and decided that it was time for one of his favored tricks, he ran at her once more but his time as he reached a point several feet from her he threw the staff upwards and over her head. If she were to look up he would jump forward and tackle her with his right elbow aimed at her diaphram and his left hand aiming to grab her neck. If she kept her eyes on him she would not see the wood of the staff writhe in preperation of an attack.

Selyna looked up at the staff instinctively, but threw her hands up and flailed to try a dispel whatever attack he would attempt. Failing to stop him, only to deflect his elbow into the rightside of her lower ribcage, she looked back at him as she fell to the ground and didn't notice the staff writhe, figuring it was just a distraction to make her look away. As she fell to her back and he reached for her throat, she made to grab his coat with both hands. If she succeeded in grabbing his coat, she would use the force of her falling and him rushing, to try and volley his body over hers.
