DarkElf27 Lady Blodwynn You really ought to give in to those cravings then, I know I would if I had the money 3nodding And in the latter part of that sentence, you hit the reason why I, and all those other drooling Guard players, don't. Get rich friends, it worked for me somehow mrgreen

You don't even need rich friends. Have a little diligence and spend less in other unneccessary places. It's how I have a 3000 point DKK army. But I don't think I'll be going in for much more, I'm running out of organs to sell.

Heh... I don't really watch TV, so that wouldn't be an issue for me. Internet replaced TV where all important things are concerned, and you don't pay a monthly bill for movies. Meaning? More models! domokun

Ok, first off: Hi guys, Its me, your average WH obsessionist. but there's something I need to know- A.) The situation. My birthday is coming soon, and I want FW stuff. terrain, etc. Now, It says to multiply the price in pounds by two. I did. Expensive. Looking at GW, it's pounds prices are many times more than half of the US cost. From experience veterans of Forgeworld purchasing...
What are some real costs? What is the shipping price? Now, I ask this in this forum only because I know I'll at least get one reply, even if it is a 'WRONG FORUM, a*****e' from brookman, and I would like to know soon, from more experienced and decorated veterans, FW specific. I live in the US, and believe that even for a small number of men, the price would be exorbitant. Any help?

And unless your spending more than, I think, two hundred and fifty quid (about $500) you'll be paying 12% for shipping plus another 15 quid (about $30) if you want faster shipping. If not for the current exorbitant gas prices in the US, I'd say make a fax order at the nearest Battel Bunker and go pick the bastards up to skip the shipping charges (the ultimate buy price will be exactly the same) but with how few of them are it might just be cheaper to pay the thrity bucks for shipping and maybe even the extra money for express delivery...

Simply put: if you find it too expensive, don't commit to it. If you want the most current conversion of your currency, use this site that FW also uses: XEIf you do like Sejanus suggests and order over 250 quid worth of stuff you get FREE express shipping to anywhere in the world, which is around five days when you are across the Atlantic. You should also keep in mind that FW recently got a lot of bad rep for their high amounts of miscasts and poor quality resin for some kits. I can't find the article right now but several people have complained about this. If you ring them and explain things to them you will in most cases get a replacement part, but that will take weeks to get delivered gonk

I was never impressed with the aircraft. I'm a big fan of groundpounders and tank, and I don't think I'll ever shake it. Sure, they're useful, but they're not required. But with the points they cost, I'd rather get a hydra to cover my army, and then just put a lot of pressure on my foes. It never hurts to have a few more men when you're doing that.
How many points do you guys have?

Roughly 3000 Imperial Guard, but not all nessecarily the same army. It's mostly Death Korps and tanks, but I also have a platoon of Cadians and twenty storm troopers. Well, "mostly" is misleading, as I only have a platoon, two squads of storm troopers, and a command squad.
As per Forgeworld, I love it. I have two Forgeworld Russ turrents, a Valkyrie, ect. and all of it is amazing. It really adds some flavour to the game which is not otherwise seen.
I want a Marauder Destroyer... crying

I've got only a single forgeworld turret, sadly. In the end, I can field about 3000 points of guard as well. Or I can throw out an armored company of up to about 2000, if I'm really pushing it. I've got some 100 infantrymen with supporting weapon, and 12 tanks of various chassis, including two demolishers and a basilisk.
