Maia offered Lori her menu and pointed to the Mexican pizza listing. "Look," she said. "Tortillas, guacamole, rice, meat and beans and it's big enough for us to share." It certainly sounded Mexican to her; wasn't rice and beans a big thing?

Lori looked it over. Huh. It sounded pretty Mexican to him, even if 'pizza' wasn't exactly Hispanic fare.
"Sure, I'll try that."
The nice went easily with a lot of chatter and a lot of laughter. Toby introduced the others to mole sauce for it's semi-chocolatey flavor and then defied his own rules and had some Mexican pizza (which honestly wasn't half bad!). Lori held Luca's hand under the table for a great deal of the meal and looked maybe a bit too longingly into Lori's eyes as he offered him a spoonful of flan. It was a good double-date for sure and everyone left happy, Toby and Maia back home and Luca and Lori back to Lori's house.

The double date had been a success, and once they reached Lori's place, Luca planted a kiss on his lips. "Dinner was wonderful," He said, smiling at him. Dessert hadn't been half bad, either!

It had been a bit of a ride. Lori had had time to digest and admire the man beside him if only out of the corner of his eyes. He returned the kiss and grinned. "I'm glad you think so." He'd liked it himself, but the date after would be even better. He'd begun to realize he liked nothing more than alone time with Luca. Not even mysterious hybrid research.
He unlocked the door and held it open for Luca. Rosie came to greet them and Lori crouched to pet her. "Hello, girl." She gave Luca a kiss on the hand as well. Lori stood and turned to hold Luca, stealing another kiss.

"Hi Rosie!" Luca greeted the dog cheerfully, reaching to pet her. He stopped only when Lori turned, returning the kiss and smiling at him. Tonight had been lovely. He was sure it was only going to get better.
What would they do? Luca could think of nothing he wanted more than to be in Lori's arms.

Lori just kept smiling and stroked some of Luca's mussed hair away from his face. What would they do? Well, who cared? As long as he had Luca he was happy.
"Do you want to watch a movie or...?" He paused. "Are you still staying the night?"

"A movie would be nice," Luca agreed with a smile. "Yup! I have my things in the car, I'll get them later." A pair of pajama pants was all, really. He smiled at Lori. "What movie?" he asked. It didn't matter to him, he didn't think he'd be paying much attention.

"It doesn't matter," Lori said, "as long as I'm watching it with you. Do you want me to make popcorn?" Really he'd rather make out[/] but he didn't want to go faster than Luca was wanting to. They'd discussed shitty exes in the past, including the cheating b*****d he'd dealt with most recently. Luca's exes had been the sort to ******** and run and he certainly didn't want to give the man the idea that he was the same way himself.

Luca gave Lori a bright smile, shaking his head. No, he thought his mouth would be busy with other things. "I think we'll be busy," he said, kissing Lori's cheek.

"Oh?" Lori asked. A grin split his lips. He kissed Luca on the nose and then lifted him up with relative ease. It was odd to have a lover about his size. Nobody was his size. He held the man with his arms looped under his knees and grinned up at him, then started for the couch and sat down. He wasn't expecting any action, just some snuggling and kissing, and that was more than enough. He gave Luca just a little smooch and then reached for the remote as he released him.

Luca was startled by the feeling of being lifted, but then kissed Lori. "Yes," he said. Busy kissing, Busy snuggling, Busy--doing things Lori probably wasn't interested in doing yet.
At least, thinking about those things. "Just being with you is enough," he said. No movie needed.

Lori's hand stopped in his search for the remove. So no movie? He looked up to Luca questioningly. Was that what he had meant? He indeed looked a bit surprised. Just spending time together meant... ... what? An image flashed across his mind and he shook it away.

Lori's surprise was all the answer Luca needed. No, Lori wasn't interested in that. Yet. The yet was hopeful. He leaned over and placed a kiss on the other elf's lips. "Pick a romcom you like."

Oh. Oh, okay. He'd misunderstood then. Lori's hand found Luca's back and stroked it gently. His surprised expression resolved to a smile and he returned the little kiss.
"A romcom? Ooh, this really is a date, isn't it?" He started going through the movie menus all the while wishing he was looking at Luca instead.

Luca nestled closer to Lori. "It never ended," he said. "I like your friends, Lori," he began. "But my favorite part is when we're together." Alone. He wanted desperately to tell Lori how he felt about him. To tell him he loved him. He knew the elf wasn't like his past romances. Lori was special. He was kind and clever and got excited about the same things Luca did.
