Kate scowled when Che called her stupid in a child-like retort. However, she was not about to dignify such childishness with a response or reaction. Instead, she did not move and simply stood there, waiting for Che to actually push the damn elevator floor button. His entire lecture about materialism and money... and the part about wanting to say something to Will... caused her to glare at Che via the reflections in the elevator door. "I do not want to react to that b*****d of a Satan Owl. How you can even begin to think that is beyond even me. But what I do want, is for him to not goad me into a reaction." Kate replied, attempting to keep her tone level and not start arguing with Che in the elevator over something as stupid as a bet.
With that said, Kate stood there and waited for Che to actually press the button to get the elevator to move. She could stand there all day and wait for it to happen just to prove her point. The only thing that Kate moved was her eyes as she watched Che's pathetic attempts to avoid having to use his hand to press the button. At one point she rolled her eyes as he nearly lost his balance while trying to use his foot. Letting out a light sigh to release some of the tension she was feeling from the whole discussion, Kate started to close her eyes. They were halfway closed when Che finally found a way to press the floor button without actually using his hands by way of throwing a card at it. Kate rolled her eyes again as Che began to celebrate his small victory by fist-pumping the air. But this only resulted in the breaking of the elevator's glass ceiling. Kate cursed in Russian under her breath as some of the glass fell onto her head. "Wonderful..." She murmured under her breath.
Che still technically had used his hands to press the button, even if it was vicariously through a playing card. However, Kate let Che have his minor celebration. She figured it was best to not react to prove that even when annoyed she could keep her mouth shut. She preoccupied herself with brushing the glass out of her hair and off her shoulders instead of speaking to Che. Kate then went back to her previous position of leaning on the back wall of the elevator with her arms crossed, while the elevator finally began going upward.
It didn't take long for it to stop at their floor as the elevator was a modern one that moved quickly. Once the doors opened, Kate stood up and stepped off the elevator. She walked briskly down the hall towards their room and only stopped outside the door to take a room key from her pocket to unlock the door. She didn't wait for Che to catch up or anything as she knew he could very well take care of himself.

After releasing the tiny mouse back into the wild, Bailey found herself staring at Erin, pondering a way to do her own part in helping her. The Blood Owl was right. Whether they liked it or not. The three of them now shared a bond. Her aquamarine eyes then fell upon a book laying with her stuff. At first Bailey couldn't remember where it came from, then she remembered that she had bought it not long after she arrived in New Orleans. It was a book on different forms of Sorcery and one long chapter was devoted to something that might aide Erin. Bailey picked the book up with one of her vectors and walked over to Erin. She looked down at her feet shyly and held the book, which was now in her real hand as the vector had retracted itself again, towards her.
"Um...there is a chapter in this book devoted to Thaumaturgy, which is basically Blood Sorcery. It was really supposed to only be a myth, a Discipline only bestowed upon certain vampires. I mean, I know you're not exactly a vampire, but from what I've gathered, your mutation is rather similar and I think this might help you out a bit. It's on page 384 and extends to page 415. Maybe you could read it in your spare time." She shuffled her feet nervously. "I know it's not much, but it might give you a bit of insight." Bailey bit her lip waiting for Erin to respond. She really believed that this book would be a factor in helping the conflicted Owl.

"Ow....goddamn it, this isn't a UNS building..." Che's mild forced uppercut that cracked the mirror above him and Kate inflicted a nice, but miniscule amount of pain on the man. His middle knuckle was scarred and bleeding lightly. The cut was superficial though, so the Owl had nothing at all to worry about. Brushing away the crystalline dust from his air and shoulders as he exited the elevator, he noticed that Kate had not been pleased with his antics. If breaking the ceiling of the elevator didn't put a touch of red on the man's usually pale cheeks, then her obvious annoyance did. Che's more daring side of his mind told him to apologize and try to avoid any further confrontations until she simmered down. The more passive side...didn't exist really thanks to recent events. Following a few feet behind her into the room, he awaited the chance.
After walking in the door, Che first sat on the bed and took off his shoes. The dark socks that covered his foot expanded when he wriggled his toes out of the positions they'd been locked in for the past four hours. The soles of his feet were also in discomfort from all of the walking that had to be done this morning already. Needless to say, Che wanted to sleep. He wanted to contact Will later on when he was more awake and alert. That wasn't an option as time as of the essence today. Straightening his hair which had come apart during his cleaning, he looked up with eyes that were apologetic in their gaze. "Ummm...sorry about that Kate. Maybe if we can get out of here fast enough, we won't have to pay," said the elder Owl jokingly. Whether or not that would hurt or help, he didn't know. You only live once though, right? Undoing his previous work, Che matted his hair again causing the greased strands to stand up and out. It now resembled his old hairstyle. The main difference was the size and the neatness of it. For Kate's sake though, when they went out again, he'd return it to his previous state. Until then, he'd be in his element relaxing for the moment. "Maybe a longer apology will do the trick?...Hm?"

Thoughts spun around Erin's mind about her little talk with Roulin. Both he and Bailey were very willing to help her. But she was uncertain about what the outcome would be. She was resolved to try to turn her sister around. And if that couldn't be done, then... Well, Erin didn't want to have to think about it, but the thought was still there. She might have to kill her own sister to protect her friends and the life she had now.
Erin had been staring out the window of their motel room for around five minutes when Bailey's voice broke her from her trance. Blinking in mild surprise, the Artistic Owl turned a bit to look at the woman holding out a book to her. Erin looked at the book for a moment before looking back up at Bailey her head tilting to the side. Before saying anything, Erin took a gentle hold of the book and took it from Bailey. She studied the book a bit, turning it open to the pages Bailey had mentioned and reading a couple of sentences. Then, Erin looked back up at Bailey with a gentle smile on her face. "Thank you, Bailey. I'll be sure to read it when I have the time." Erin nodded to the shy woman standing across from her to reassure her, as she could see that Bailey was nervous about approaching her. She was certain that even though this book was meant to be myth, maybe it did hold information in it that could be useful like Bailey had said.

The room Kate and Che had been staying in was a large and comfortable suite. The reason they had managed to get such a room was obviously Will's influence at work once again.
Once in the room, Kate passed right by the bed and went over to the sliding that led out onto the small balcony. She unlocked it before sliding it open. As soon as she had done that, Kate heard Che apologize for his actions. She rolled her eyes a little and shook her head before looking over her shoulder at Che. "It won't kill you to just pay for the damage to the elevator." she retorted before stepping outside onto the balcony. After being inside a casino for so long, Kate felt she needed to be outside for a while for the fresh air. The Eternity Owl stepped towards the railing and leaned her arms on it, staring out into the Las Vegas skyline.

Che found some median between his busy schedule and his tiredness as he laid back upon the bed, his feet still flat on the carpeted floor below. As usual, the man was in a state of deep thinking. Unbeknownst to Kate, the Mastering Owl still had a plan for this mess and his son, friends and family. There were things that had happened so far that not even he foresaw, but they were nothing that couldn't be factored in here. Had he had his deck, this session of strategy building wouldn't have been so tough. Che didn't need them direly though as he probably knew all that they could contribute. It would be nice to have a few voices in his empty head for once though...
"It won't....I'll leave a nice bank note when we finally decide to leave here..." As the man lazed about the bed rolling around on it and grumbling with each failed plan, he did consider actually fixing the mirror himself. He was the one that broke it after all. When Kate walked over to the balcony of the rather comfy, luxurious suite, he studied her with interest. For her sake, he kept his vision deactivated opting to view her the right way; just as she was. A soul that was slowly mending. "What does the trick for you is skylines eh? You know, when this over, if you want, I can get us a two story house that has a balcony. Maybe even a nice building like this to run a nice company from." Ephemerally, a few strands of the girl's hair that sat upon her shoulders sparkled as if they were crystalline in form....Che's eyes squinted in slight bewilderment, but widened when he realized what the twinkling was. There was glass on the gazing woman.
Standing up from the bed, or rather pulling himself from the only source of real comfort he could find at the moment, he strolled past the plastic bags and empty boxes of clothes that were brought when they arrived some months ago. Looking just over Kate's head, he took in the morning skyline of Las Vegas. Groaning once again, he patted off a bit of glass from Kate's shoulders. Unless he said something, she may have assumed it was him just trying to get her attention. A small shard was caught in the skin of his right palm, but it wasn't anything. It didn't even pass through his flesh, but it did give him a nice sting to remind him that he was still just a tired, overworked man. To end what weirdness that may have been brought on by Che's unprovoked sweepings, he spoke to her in lighter, somewhat labored tone, "Hey Ms., you've still got glass on you....if you'd be so kind as to turn around, I can get all of it off for you. If'n you don't mind..."

Aeon listened to Cecila. The young woman sounded very conflicted at the time. Aeon mentioned nothing more on the subject and continued to proceed. As they got to the tiger exhibit Aeon stood in amazement as she saw how the tigers interacted with each other and their young. She did begin to wonder when she would become a mother but she was young and that could always wait. She then began to think about Moli. He would be forever young....but Aeon would age and eventually die. She then began to think about her father...he was alive...and that meant maybe her mother was as well. Sighing a little she stayed silent as her thoughts were rushing through her mind.
The beast was strong but Amara was determined to beat the beast. Looking at Vincent she nodded. "Okay Vincent let's kill this thing" she told him. She began to shoot once more as she tried to distract the beast. The mutated beast began to open it's mouth as a small sphere developed and began to glow. "Vincent...NOW!!!" she yelled at him as a beam was released towards Amara. She began to run as the blast began to expand behind her.
Vincent nodded as he took out two metallic orbs. As the beast was focused on Amara, Vincent began to try and scale the massive body. Vincent then lept into the air freezing himself in his place and throwing the orbs towards the beast eye and mouth. As soon as they made contact a gas was released, as the gas irritated its eyes. The orb that flew into its mouth exploded and released a gas that made the beast grow. It began to cough uncontrollably as its skin began to glow a red color. Choking more it fell over as it began to combust. "Amara let's get out of here now!!!" he yelled as he grabbed the child and began to run with Amara.

Ember could not contain the smile that spread on her face as they strolled the city lights to a slightly more crowded area. For once some one did not treat her like the over powered herald she was. it was a treat to not take responsibility for a change. She stretched, "you don't drink?" she asked not sure if she believed him, being one who couldn't live without the bottle. "well i guess there is a first for everyone, personally i cant live without it" she grinned but stared at her arm as he took it, "ah a ring! I was married once... he passed away at a young age though, he wasn't much of a drinker either" she said staring up at the neon over flow that the Japanese seemed to litter the city streets with, "very colorful country, i should have come here a long time ago"
They entered the club and Ember was pleased to note the space was just as colorful inside as it was outside, she settled into her seat as Daryle left her for more drinks, the music was rather addicting even if the artist sang the notes rather quickly, she couldn't understand anyway, but the pitch was nice. "so that money i gave you, would it cover expenses here?" she asked, smiling as he mentioned a brawl, "to be honest i only start those if i need to slip out on a tab, but if you want a fight i can start one" she simply sipped her drink in all seriousness. "Mmm, i dance, when i wont be the one standing out" she said standing to drag Daryle to the dance floor, he looked like he could dance already."i must warn you, i dance with two left feet"

Danny chuckled at Nika, "no wonder you like a kid who controls an army fo the walking dead" he said nudging her back lightly, "Marathon sounds good, although i can gaurentee it wont take long for me to pass out" he said waving a taxi as they reached the edge of the park. "i don't feel much like walking" he told her as he opened the door for her to get in, leaving the dogs behind them as he slipped in behind her. he knew she probably would have complained otherwise, the apartment was within walking distance, but if Nika felt bad enough to admit she was a little tired, he knew it was much worse than that. The dogs themselves ran off, they were part of Danny's pack patrol, a more efficient way for Raven's fallen Phoenix members to chase out some of the straggling humans that still tried to hide in within the city/state even. "we should really look into buying you some new movies,"

Cecilia was quite relieved when Aeon didn't press matters. She didn't want to discuss it any further. The animals seemed quite active today, especially the tigers, which made this day at the zoo much more enjoyable. Still, Aeon's questions plagued Cecilia despite the fact that she struggled to banish them for now so that she could enjoy this afternoon. She watched two White Siberian cubs play with each other. Others who had come to enjoy a day at the zoo gathered around and exclaimed over how cute they were. As her jade eyes left the cubs and looked shifted towards a male, she spoke to Aeon. "So what about you and Moli? I mean, I know that Moli is only in training right now and isn't a full Herald yet, but once he does become a Herald, he'll have the same longevity that I do. How are you going to cope with that? To know that one day you'll grow old and die?"
The minute the words left Cecilia's mouth, she wanted to kick herself for asking. What business was it of hers what happened with Aeon's life? Her eyes gazed upon the ground as she let out a rather loud sigh. "Sorry, I probably shouldn't have asked. I'm sure it's something you think about quite often. You don't need someone like me reminding you, do you?" she said laughing in a way that indicated she wanted to crawl under a rock right now. Little Aiden pointed at the tigers and giggled excitedly. Cecilia smiled cheerfully for his sake and kissed his chubby little right cheek. She decided to change the subject just in case Aeon didn't want to answer her first question. "So how did you and Moli meet exactly?" she asked. There, that was an innocent enough question. It was a little nosy, but maybe it wouldn't offend Aeon like the last one probably would have.

When Cecilia asked her questions about her and Moli, Aeon's heart had stopped. She then looked at Cecilia and she could tell she was remorseful about what she had just said. "It's okay Cecilia, I know you didn't mean any harm by it. But yea I think about it all the time. Sometimes I honestly want to leave Moli alone...I mean will he still love me when I begin to age and wrinkle, and he doesn't. True we will be the same age chronologically and he will mature as will I, but the physical often has me guessing" she told her. "I'm not afraid of dying...I would just like to see Moli on the other side....him being a herald may just prevent that" she said a little saddened.
When Cecilia asked another question, Aeon began to smile. "I met him when I was in college a couple of years ago. Until I met Moli, I never knew I was an OWL. He continued to bother me and talk to me about OWLS and at the time, I was interested in OWLS but I never though I would be one. Hell I didn't even want to be an OWL when he said that it was a possibility that I was one. I didn't even have an active power. Then he visited me once more and almost killed us all with his radioactive powers until it forced me to use my projection powers...to make a long story short, after that, he was the one who helped me develop my powers and fighting. We grew close, and eventually he had enough courage to ask me out on a date" she said with a laugh.

Nik grinned and said, "Can do! Two batches of pasta with baked chicken a nice sauce to go with it." Nik quickly got to work on cooking, the problem he faced now was that it normally took around an hour to make this dish, luckily he had put more chicken in after finishing Elle's food, so it would only take a short time to be finished. His shadows started working on the sauce while Nik prepared the pasta; he was working like a madman to make this dish by himself, but he was having fun. As he worked, he asked Anya, "So, if those 'voices of the earth' are bothering you, why don't you try out the headphones while I make lunch? It'll give you a way to pass the time. It should be done in maybe twenty minutes."
======
Nika smiled as Danny hailed a taxi for them; she didn't feel like walking either, though she thought that Danny might've just done that for her sake, which made her smile just a bit more than before. She told the driver where to take them then sighed and tilted her head back against the headrest. She looked over at Danny with her eyes and replied, "New movies? I don't know what you're talking about kid, the classics are where it's at; The Thing, Escape from New York, They Live, all of them are sooo much better than today's movies. Though I will admit some of the newer movies are fairly good..." Nika pondered to herself about what new movies she would like to get while the taxi came to a halt outside their apartment building. Nika paid the driver and stepped out, stretching lightly and wincing. Their apartment was just a temporary place to stay, a sort of outpost for the Fallen Phoenix in DC. Despite their lax attitude, Nika and Danny were actually keeping an eye on things in DC. Nika had quickly made herself at home, and allowed Danny to stay with her instead of making him get his own apartment; it worked out well as she enjoyed his company. The apartment was relatively small, nothing too special, aside from the room full of high caliber weapons; Nika had yet again gotten more guns, she was annoyed that the weapons she bought in Rome were lost, Danny had managed to keep his gun, but Neah was holding her gun and his, so she needed more. Sighing, Nika walked over to the DVD player and put the first movie in, turning on their large LCD TV she sat down on the couch with a long and relaxed sigh. "Come on Danny, the movie starts immediately, get the lights and the curtains."

Cecilia listened with relief as Aeon answered both questions, not offended by either. The Projection Owl seemed to be less conflicted than Cecilia, that was for sure. Yet hearing Aeon tell of how Moli and she met forced Cecilia to remember how Roulin and herself met. Of course, their meeting was much different. The Azure Owl turned towards the tigers again. "I have to say that's an interesting story. I really don't want to because it's a long story in itself, but now I feel obligated to tell you about how Roulin and I met. It's actually a bit different." Aiden was still fascinated by the tigers and therefore not really paying attention to anything his two care-givers were talking about.
"It was actually seven months ago. I want to say it was around mid-May so in the middle of spring, not exactly summer yet. I, of course, had been living on the streets for the past fifteen years. During those years I had travelled certain parts of the world, even visiting other continents. Well during the time I met Roulin, I had come back to Romania because I had vowed that once I turned 21, I would return home to the place where I was raised. My grandparents had been dead for five years. I confirmed this by visiting their grave-site. I knew where it was because I remember, as a child, them telling me where they wanted to be buried. Cecilia chuckled lightly realizing that she was getting off subject.
"Anyways, I had decided to stay in Romania for a few day. Of course what I didn't realize was that someone else had come to Romania on business. You see, even though I had done my best to elude the presses, they always seemed to catch glimpses of me a la Sasquatch. Of course as you know, cameras these days are much more high-tech and the pictures they took came out clear, so it wasn't really much of a mystery as to what I was. Also, I had been posted in the news on other continents, not just Europe. That's actually how Roulin came to know about me. I sometimes think it was his curiosity that got the better of him and he wanted to meet the mysterious Azure Owl who no one knew anything about."
Cecilia watched as one of the tigers yawned, lounging under one of the trees in the exhibit. The feline had the right idea for he was doing what Cecilia wanted to do right now, but she had begun the story. She needed to finish it. "As you know, Roulin can sense powers, so he was able to find me quite easily. I was in the middle of the city, in an alleyway. It was raining that day and I was under tin roof trying to stay dry. I was using a gravitational field to attempt to keep the water off of me, but back then I didn't have much control over my gravitational abilities so I couldn't keep the shield up for more than two minutes at the most so it wasn't long before I was completely drenched. That was how Roulin found me. From the expression on his face, it seemed he had heard of me via the news. I wasn't surprised by this. I was surprised that he had managed to find me. I didn't trust him, I remember. I actually tried to run...or well fly away, but you know how fast Rou is. He caught up with me quite easily."
Cecilia tucked a loose strand of hair that had come free from her braid behind her left ear before continuing. "Of course I couldn't get away. Maybe I didn't want to run anymore, but I sure as hell wasn't about to let him know that. I let him speak to me, asking questions and answering them with my own. I think he knew that I definitely didn't trust him. I was so sure that he wanted to help me just so he could get his fifteen minutes of fame just by being around me and hoping that someone would catch a glimpse, but the more I began talking to him, the more I discovered that he was much deeper than that. I think the one thing that ended up persuading me to go with him was the fact that he spoke to me in a way that made me feel rather normal. He might have been taken aback by my appearance at first, but he didn't seem to care about that. He didn't seem to care that I was the Waldo in a large crowd of monochrome people."
Cecilia checked Aiden's diaper quickly to make sure that he was dry. He was so Cecilia spoke on, revealing the conclusion. "As you can probably guess, I started to travel with him soon after. Of course I kept it a secret for the longest time that I was some-what attracted to him. No...actually I was very much attracted to him, but I never let my thoughts of feelings reveal that until a few months ago. I want to say three or four months actually. I want to say it was in the battle of New York, now New Exire. I was so sure that I was going to die, but I've always been optimistic....Well, I used to be that way. I was so sure that I would live, but as I lay there in Roulin's arms, I came to realize that I truly did care for him. As you can see, I didn't die, I'm still alive to this day. It wasn't until after we had escaped from Che's house that I told Roulin how I felt and came to find out that felt the same way. But now...Roulin has walked down a path that I'm not sure I could follow. I know he thinks he's doing it with good intentions, but it's really only hurting others as well as himself."
She clenched her fists, gritting her teeth angrily. The gravity in the area, pushed down upon the ground, creating small craters in the earth. Realizing what she was doing and the fact that a few had seen and were now staring at her in fear, she took a deep breath and calmed her emotions. "I just sometimes with he was with me right now so that I could slap some sense into him for lack of a better word." Cecilia relaxed her tense physique and turned toward Aeon. "Well there you have it. That's pretty much how I met and fell in love with Roulin Presidiomni. I'm sorry it turned into such a long-winded story. I really didn't intend for it to turn out that way." She awaited Aeon's response, if the girl even had one.

Kate was about to say that their bank accounts had been closed, but she kept her mouth shut. Besides, Will had them covered on that too, and Che would probably answer that way as well. So she didn't bother voicing her answer. Instead, she let out a small sigh again. But Che's next question made her roll her eyes as well. "No. I'm just out here for the fresh air. I was cooped up in that casino for most of the day." She replied over her shoulder before turning her head back to look at the skyline. Though, what Kate didn't say was that she kinda of liked the idea of a house with a balcony. Not so much the company, but the balcony was a nice idea. All Kate wanted after this war was over was a quiet and relatively normal life.
The wind blew some of the hair away from Kate's face and she had to put some of the hair behind her right ear. It felt rather nice actually. It was nice and quiet. But it wasn't that way for long. Kate heard Che's footsteps on the balcony behind her. She didn't mind that he was standing behind her for a bit. But what she did mind was him tapping and brushing her shoulder. Frowning a little, Kate turned her head to look at what Che could possibly be doing. Her question was answered when Che told her that some glass from the broken elevator ceiling still dusted her shoulder. It was only until then that Kate turned around and spoke. "I am capable of cleaning it off myself, but if you absolutely must insist..." Kate replied, rolling her eyes. She knew that if she objected to that courtesy, that Che would somehow make fun of her or something. "This had better not be some prank of yours, Che." Kate added, looking at him sternly as if daring him to try to do anything perverted. And if he did, there would be hell to pay.

In just two months, New Exire had extended all the way to Washington D.C. However, Lorna was in Maine, not D.C. In those two months, her appearance had changed considerably. Her once long emerald hair was now cut in a pixie style with small layers that were slightly spiked at the back, but still made her appear feminine. But her physical appearance was not the only thing that had changed, for after she had almost lost the battle againt Anya, the Poison Owl and one of her most bitter enemies. She was furious with herself for making so many mistakes during that battle, mistakes that could have cost her, her life. The emerald haired Owl looked down at her jewelry covered hands. She had been weak in that battle. She had made foolish decisions and had to be rescued. She was truly disgusted with herself.
.Lorna sat atop the roof of the hotel building, which she was staying in, one foot dangling off the side, the other propped up at an angle with one arm hanging precariously atop the knee and her other arm behind her propping her up slightly as she leaned back staring up at the sky. She had barely spoken to anyone after leaving Rome. Of course, how could she? They were all busy with their own affairs. Her first thoughts had been to seek advice from Raven, but her leader had quite a bit on her mind at the moment. She didn't want to burden the Quaking Owl with her own problems. She had barely even spoken to Soliel as well in the past two months.
She had not intended to become a loner, but even though she carried a smile on her face around the others when she was with them, she could not help, but feel that she was being pushed away from all of them. Standing, she tilted her body forward and allowed herself to fall from the edge of the building. Before she hit the ground, she dropped her ring, which formed a metallic platform, which hovered. Dropping down onto it with ease, she sped off through the city having no destination in mind other than to think while on the move.

"Heh. Hai il resto della giornata davanti a te. Try to make the best of it if you can," said Che partly in his natural dialect. The phrase he chose to use, 'You've got the rest of the day ahead of you', was something his mother would tell him even when he chose to sleep the entire day away. It was meant as joke from his mother because the phrase was mostly used at night when Che usually awoke. His father on the other hand was more a laborer opting to use his waking hours to work towards a goal. As Kate stood, her sight still beaming across the uneven Las Vegas skyline like the light of the rising sun, Che continued to sweep away what crystalline dust was left behind. "Las Vegas and fresh air don't belong in the same sentence my dear. We'll visit Iceland one day where there isn't so much.....industrial crap going on. Sorta sickening to me..."
The frizzy haired man's statement wasn't to contradict the woman, but only to point out that there were places with fresher air than this. Much. Places that Che himself would throw this life away just to be there. While daydreaming partly, Kate's words had slipped in one ear and out the other. Only when he looked back down did he see her blue, somewhat listless eyes staring away from his. "I promise it's not a prank Kate. Just me being nice and calm for a change." Her scowl was still present, but it was very light. A sign of relaxation maybe..Che smoothed the woman's hair free of glass though as his hand moved from the top of her head down, the more solid pieces of dust rolled into his palm giving a nice prickly sensation. After clearing the residue from the girl's tresses, he began to brush away what he didn't reach on her shoulders and her face. As not to inflict a cut, he brushed his thumb across her cheek and swiftly, that shining dust was brushed away.
Kate was no longer shining with a silver lining, but his contact with her had yet to be broken. His hand remain on the side of her cheek, his thumb smoothing the pale area softly...almost fondly. His attention was transfixed upon her in this moment and the sounds of the streets below vanished as if they'd been teleported from it all. Che opened his mouth to speak, but only the Russian woman's name exited him. Seeing the foolishness taking place, he stopped, smiled, then looked down giving a light chuckle. "I---sorry about that. All the glass is gone now I think..." Sadly, the Mastering Owl hadn't noticed that his left hand was still clasped the melancholy woman's pale cheek.

"Well the air outside is fresher than that of the casino's interior." Kate replied flatly. She really did prefer polluted outside air to the smoke filled casino floor. She wasn't trying to start a debate with Che. She was just telling him her opinion on the present situation. While Che began brushing the glass dust from her head, hair, and shoulders, Kate simply stood there, not protesting for once. She wasn't in the mood to argue about this right now anyway.
The entire time that Che was removing the dust from her hair, Kate kept her eyes closed to avoid having any dust hurt her eyes. However, as Che's hand gently wiped her face clean of the glass, it took a big piece of Kate's willpower not to show a change in her expression. She tried her best to look away from Che's eyes, but couldn't. It was one of those times where things just clicked into place. And in that moment, Kate really felt... happy. Of course, she would try to never reveal that to Che out loud.
It was only when Che spoke her name that Kate actually looked directly back at him. Even though she could feel the prickling of the glass dust on Che's hand from when he was cleaning off her face, Kate didn't really care at the moment if that was hurting her at all, which it wasn't. It was just a bothersome addition to the situation. Before she could really stop the think about it, Kate reached her hand up to touch Che's hand on her face. "What is it, Che? If you're going to say something, you may as well say it. You did say yourself that you don't try things, you go ahead and do what you want to do. So why would it be hard for to say a simple sentence?"
