Huh. Rhed and I will often be up in the wee hours of the morning having a... ...Well, you can't really call it a debate, because neither one of us is really arguing anything. It's more of an exchange of ideas, bouncing concepts back and forth with different viewpoints until it makes sense from all observable stances. That's the sort of thing I enjoy, partly because there's never stress or animosity behind any of it.

'hey what if all the roads were made of trampoline?' 'i'd feel bad for turtles'
That specific conversation has never happened, but now I feel like it should.

I think there's a difference between an exploratory debate and a challenging debate.
I do the former a ton. There's a lot of viewpoints that I might not get, so I ask plenty of questions to try and get a grasp on what they're about. I think trying to constantly provide a counterpoint isn't conducive to a harmonious co-existence: starts to feel like a political debate after a time.

I honestly could not think of an argument besides "Well, I like books...."

WylrPnufh By no means was it a challenging debate, though. I honestly could not think of an argument besides "Well, I like books...." You should work on clarifying that, then. You literally ended a post with "Prove it." That's pretty challenging.
