He hadn't been accusing her of deliberately hiding, but apparently she felt the need to apologize so he made it clear that it was unnecessary. Hearing Iris ask her question, he felt she clarified his question better and it made him smile. Some people just never truly understood the way words were said and it could get really irritating. Noting Viaresu twitch at the corner of his eye, he gave a soft sigh. "Tex, vivani lataeru ni nenni hau tala."
"I can't tell if that's a thrilled twitch or the the twitch of wanting to kill someone. Viaresu, please try being nice with your tone and the words you choose next," Ross murmured with a hint of worry laced into his voice. The ever so slight twitch the halfbred incubus was involuntarily doing was definitely something to worry about. There was no telling if he'd simply blow up or just not respond whatsoever. He also couldn't tell which was worse, the silence or the explosion of disbelieving anger. Viaresu was weird altogether in his moods after all. "I apologize if he does or says anything that offends y'all."

The halfbred demon understood quite well what the feline was getting at and it almost made him want to smack his head against a rock. Viaresu's smile showed a brief bashful nature for having rambled, but it too came and went within the second it took for one to blink.

That demon was one of the strangest people he had ever met, and this was a man that met Decius! Caesar was a tough and distant shadow demon that feasted on human hearts, but around the grumpy German he was a regular shy teen. It was cute to watch sometimes, he'd admit.

It wasn't something extremely great to look at, but the park was a good change of scenery for the demon. If they were couped up in Adler's home, they were running around the school or abandoned places for Decius. It was nice to be around some nature and to breath in fresh air. With it being night now, the demon could already feel his strength returning to him. His whole encounter with that strange man and Decius took its toll on him, so he was pleased to be feeling revitalized again.
He let out a puff of cool air, a small cloud of black smoke exiting his mouth before disappearing as if evaporating. His hands were dug into his jacket pocket and his gaze continue to move from side to side as he took in the park's scenery. It was like every other park he had been too, but it was the first one he had gone to with another living being that wasn't an animal. It was a strange feeling, but he told himself that it was one he would grow used to with time. Just as he would have to grow used to the fact that he has a boyfriend...."It is a nice night. Not too warm or cold, seems pretty quiet....peaceful almost.."

Cigarette lit, the doctor inhaled some tobacco and blew a stream out into the crisp air. There was something about smoking during cold weather that he enjoyed, perhaps it was the contrast between the high and low temperatures. Shaking the burning match, Fields looked at Caesar and considered his words before looking back towards the park. "Ein vould not be too sure." he grunted and nudged his head towards the kids that ran about in strange outfits that ranged from 'bloody' to something out of a cartoon. "Tonight is Halloween. Kids run around in outfits to get candy. Und American thing, ein think." he explained before blowing another stream of smoke out above them.

Turning to Fields, Caesar gave a look of confusion at his words. Being as old as he was, one would think he knew what the man was talking about, but he had no clue what that was. Looking over at the children running about, he saw them all in different outfits that he assumed was a supernatural creature. He was a little embarrassed by the fact but he couldn't help but turn towards Adler again and ask him what was going on."Um...Adler......what is a Halloween? Is this a human custom I haven't heard of?"

Fields gave Caesar an unamused sideways stare. "Too cold to listen? Ein just said it. It is und holiday vhere children dress up und run around to get candy. It is supposed to be und Pagan holiday since children dress up as demons und such." he said while ruffling his own demon's hair. With all the free candy being passed around, he wouldn't be surprised if he saw Decius running around. Today would also give the mad scientist a free pass to run around in his crazy state and have people actually adore him than fear him. "Vhat vill you do if und child comes dress as you?" the doctor asked with a smirk.

He still didn't get the reasoning behind the event? Was that really all there is to it? Were they mocking them with their ridiculous holiday or were they trying to be like them? Not sure as to whether or not he should be fascinated or offended, Caesar gave Fields an unsure expression. Seeing a child dress as him seemed rather impossible since he was so rare that he was near unknown amongst humans. Those that have met him never lived to tell the tale so he wasn't a dark legend either. As he thought it over, the human he met before at the bar came to mind and he frowned. Was it possible that he wasn't as unknown as he thought? Obviously, someone had to know who he was...."I am unsure of how I would respond...before today, I didn't think anyone knew about me. Besides, I don't know whether I should hate or like this Halloween you speak of. I cannot tell if we are being mocked or admired."

The doctor nudged his head towards a kid that ran past them, sporting a skull mask and a black robe. Amusing. Thankfully, being in an apartment meant very few went to get candy from him, not like he'd give them any. Glancing back at the demon, Fields smirked and put a hand on the small of his back, moving him forward. "Just ignore them und let's enjoy our walk."

Although frowning at the man, Caesar allowed him to lead him forward. He did have to admit, he was enjoying himself a little. As soon as they were far away enough from the loud humans, everything would be perfect. Whenever they had their short moments of peace, is when he truly felt happy. They were experiences that helped him slowly grow more accustomed to being around humans again."I should thank you...if not for you, I probably would have been run out of this town with pitchforks for being the cause in the town's population decrease. I son't know why, but the more time I spend with you, the more confident I am around humans."
The bar was an example of that. He spent quite a bit of time without Adler and managed to speak and drink with humans without wanting to murder them where they stood. Or sat...he didn't really care what they were doing, as long as they were dead."I have no doubts that there are humans that can be more vile than demons themselves. But I also now believe that there are those, that even though they do not see it themselves, are kind and deserve the peace they have worked hard to attain. Not all humans are bad...even though most can be a little annoying..."

The doctor looked down at Caesar when he spoke again, feeling a blush warm his face after so much praise. "If that is the case, then ein should also thank you." he muttered, moving his free hand to rub the back of his head. "Ein vas too focused on vork before ein met you. If you hadn't of come ein am sure ein vould also have been forced into und arranged marriage." He grimaced when he remembered the school principal's close friend, whom happened to have very strong feelings despite his clear agitation towards her. "Most importantly, however, if it veren't for you, ein vould have been dead. Ein owe you mein life, you know." He smirked down at the demon. "But ein and more than villing to give the rest of mein years to you."

Smiling, Caesar continued to walk beside the man as the noise in the background decreased more and more. When it finally became quiet enough for him to enjoy the peace, he sucked in some air before slowing exhaling. The air was a little cool and crisp, but it felt rather nice to the demon."You know...In all my six thousand and something years, I never really stopped and appreciated nature. I always stuck to cities and spent more time killing and eating hearts than giving myself some quiet time. I wish I would have taken more time to just walking in a park or lose myself in a forest."
It wasn't like he would have really needed food or water. Everyone would have been better off if he had just lived deep in a forest where no one else ventured to. He wouldn't have had to kill anyone or look at their stupid faces anymore. But then again, if he had done that, he wouldn't have ever come across Adler and his hate would have only grown more and more."I wonder what it would be like to live in a forest...just cut off all other contact with the urban world and live in nothing but nature."

"Und forest?" Fields mused with a snort. "You vould probably end up getting annoyed with the animals until humans tear it down for more cities. Vhat made you think of und forest, anyvay?" he asked.

Frowning, Caesar turned to Fields and pout. He had to admit that humans did often tear down forests, but he would never agree that he disliked animals. They never did anything to him and usually tried to mind their own business unless disturbed."I have no quarrels with animals and I never will. And I don't know why I picked the forest. Perhaps it might have something to do with it being the very first place I ended up after escaping my world. I was in the forest for maybe a few weeks before I found the humans. I sometimes wished I had never left."
The nagging feeling he got in the back of his head was starting to annoying him. It was the first of his many regrets since coming to this world. If he had stayed, how happy would he be, and where would it have left Fields? Would he still be digging around in cemeteries and drinking alone in that bar with nothing but his own hatred? That kind of life would have surely led him to his death sooner than later. Caesar would have been alone and naive in his forest and Adler would be dead. The thought brought a chill up the demon's spine that made him shover in distaste."When I was trapped in that room, I thought of the forest I had left, the animals I had bonded with and wished I hadn't left it all behind out of loneliness. Thinking of the shelter I had created, the animals I have befriended brought me to tears everyday I was there. Before I had developed a hatred for humans and that man, I was left with my regret and my sorrow. I thought I would never leave that room again and I was to suffer eternally. Unfortunately, I had no idea that humans had weaker bodies and shorter lifespans than myself at the time. It would have saved me a lot of grief if I had."

Dr. Fields looked down at Caesar, biting the inside of his cheek when he saw the pout. What, did he say something wrong? He listened to the demon speak then looked away to ponder what he heard. It seems Caesar loves animals and nature quite a bit. Somehow he couldn't bring himself to see a monster that once feasted on human hearts happily playing in a forest with bucks watching him and birds singing on his finger. In fact, the image almost made the doctor laugh, but he managed to stop himself where his shoulders shuddered for a brief second. "Hmm... That's given you many thoughts, da?" he questioned, almost as if he could tell what the demon was thinking. "If you vant, ve could go camping some time. Ve could spend und few nights in the middle of a forest ein know, it'd be far from town und you could actually see the stars clearly enough." Fields wasn't much of a camper, at least not compared to Caesar. He had done his share of wilderness exploring, be it voluntarily and involuntarily, but he would gladly go if it would cheer the smaller male up.
