Iblis? Iblis= Akino? eek burning_eyes @Faust: I see what you mean. Although I've slightly revised my logic since then. Imagine the following characteristics for the powers of the Bayesian Empirimancer: 'Declared', 'Not declared', 'Successful', and 'Failure'. These can be further organized into the groups. (Declared|Successful), (Declared|Failure), (Not Declared). Not declared becomes a strong evidence against a declared event because, well if you don't say anything, your powers won't do anything. Now in the case of (D|S) and (D|F), With Empirical reasoning each time a case occurs in their respective groups, you get an appropriate shift in probability. Here is the kicker. Supposing magic was tangible in our world (I'm 100% sure it exists but we are unable to interact with it, call me a Soft Agnostic), the exact power of the Bayesian Empirimancer would be to bring declared events to reality based on the probability of the event declared. This is however limited by needing reasonable priors. If you've failed casting many times in your career, there's no way you can declare a 100% success rate when you use your powers (The exception being if you bring in evidence- fuel, incendiary devices, other flammable crap- to boost your success rate in one particular case). Your priors however, would be entirely influenced by personal experiences. Wow all of this is alot of talking. This gave me two ideas. What would it be like to have 2 Bayesian Empirimancer's duel and would the nemisis of a Bayesian Empirimancer be a Agnostic Empiricist? Wait, who's getting raped?

Then it wouldn't be bayesian or an empiricist would it? with magic, the whole priniciple of what makes it empirical gets thrown off....in addition to that the bayes theorem requires full solid proof and evidence in order for it to apply to the probability... if there was a class called a bayesian empirimancer..that in itself is a paradox ;D
Nope, I think it'd be the idealist xD
