Toshio doesn't have an idea for a song, he's just going over stuff he has written, and altering some of what he has written in the past.

He gets to the attempted sex song he wrote. And then he gets up (still towel-clad) and goes to the kitchen where his roommate is, "Being the one here who's more or less normally sexual, you get to read this and tell me how bad it sucks.

And Toshio had failed less horribly than he would have anticipated, so he goes back to his bed and works on rewording some of it.
