He looked back out at the rain, then slowly shook his head. "I have a bad feeling about this, is all." He shrugged some, uncrossing his arms and pulling a book from his back pocket. "Time will tell, I guess."

There was something he hadn't heard in a while. Laughter. He stretched, rising from the couch and rubbing his eyes. He stood slowly and yawned before making his way into the kitchen.
