Ted snorted in disdain. He took a look at the gem, then back at the dragon-man. "Please. I have less to fear from this little rock that from the creature that dwells in the lake. Now, are you going to help me or not? Otherwise I will have to resort to more extreme measures to do what I need."

Netas came to a stop in the arena and turned to face Osiris, her body as bare as could be since she changed back as she stared at him with a burning blood-lust gaze. She waited for any sort of movement from him, analysing his stance and heart rate along with his breathing and any dialation of his eyes.

Xavier snorted again and held his beloved tighter to himself. "What reason do you posses for such services?" He asked, raising an eyebrow as curiousity burned in his eyes.

"Because, as you saw, this little rock absorbs surrounding magic. I need to know what happens to that magic. Does it just get absorbed, never to be released? Does it absorb it, and change the energy into something else? Does it throw it back at the same power? Does it amplify that power? What is its limit? I don't have the kind of power necessary to do this, and I know you do. So are you going to help me or not?"

Xavier rolled his eyes heavily. "So you believe that I shall test such a possibly dangerous treasure in the homeland of my beloved?" He asked in a flat tone as he watched Ted with an unamused look making up his features.

Osiris once again stood behind without ever having moved. "Now, Netas dear, you know your little tricks won't work on me." He kissed her lightly on the cheek before dancing back, taking a battle stance.

Ted shook his head, a smile on his face. He started to chuckle a bit. "Not at all. First off, Sionet has graciously allowed everyone to stay at her house, and for that reason alone will I not test it here. But you obviously forgot what it is I can do. I actually plan to take us to another plane entirely, one that it won't matter if we do something dangerous. So, what do you say. Shall we venture forth? Maybe Sionet wishes to join us as well."

Netas' eyes flickered to the side to see Osiris. Suddenly the side of her head was a gaping mouth, unleashing a hideous shriek as it snapped at him barely a milisecond too late. The strange new attachment hissed a dark laugh before it began to melt. Netas turned her entire head around to face Osiris once more right before she melted into a large puddle on the ground. Half a second later the puddle was a swarm of venomous spiders crawling up Osir's pants and over his skin; he was completely covered in them by now.

Irritance was still plain on Xavier's place. "It shall not be so. I will not tolerate my beloved being within a place with such an object." Xavier reached up to flick his long hair over his shoulder.

Shaking his head at the arrogance of the dragon, and at the protectiveness of the man, he stood up, drop some coins on the table, and walked out of the tavern. He opened up a portal with one place in mind. He would probably get some serious flak for this later on, but he desperately needed to do this.
Stepping through the portal, he ended up within a courtyard. Signs of battle still littered the area, and Ted saw the hallway he had run out from earlier. Walking down those hallways, he saw small signs of the struggle between him and that annoying girl that had hurt Hope. Maybe he wouldn't have to deal with her today. He just found an unassuming place, and let his magical feel spread throughout the immediate area. Someone would pick up on it, hopefully, and come to see what the beacon like object was doing.

Netas froze, her nostrils flaring and her ears standing on end. Her teeth clenched together and his lips curled back over them as she crouched, snarling viciously. Someone, something, was here, in their master's territory. And just like that Netas was gone, streaming towards the magical pressure she felt. She came to a halt several yards in from of Ted, her body bent in a crouch and a growl flowing into a snarl as she bared her fangs.

Osiris was gathering energy for a counterattack when he too felt a new signature enter their area. Netas took off a second before he did.
"Not fair!" he called before vanishing. He appeared in the trees above the two, masking his own signature and ready to jump in if needed.

Ted just looked n the direction of the tree that Osiris had appeared in. His face held a smirk. "You realize that teleporting like that always leaves a magical energy pulse? Anyways, I'm not here to fight, this time. I need some help, and little Miss Temper won't be able to do so. I need pure magic blasts."
He pulled out the gem. He stared into the depths of the stone, fascinated by the colors, but not so much that he lost track or reality. "I found this little beauty in a lake. If you observe it, you can tell it absorbs magic. I need to figure out the capabilities of this thing. Will you help?"

Netas' body grew and changed into that of a large, serphentine dragon. Netas fluidly lept at Ted, constricting him with the crushing weight of her heavily scaled body. She hadn't even taken the time to let him finish talking; she didn't care. Netas was programed to take care of anyone/anything that Twilight did not approve of.

Osiris shrugged. "Yeah, well. I'm working on it. Pretty soon I'll-" Netas pounced.
Osiris vanished and appeared standing next to them. "Netas, no! Get off of him, this could be important." He was currently scanning the gem with his magical senses, and for some reason was getting slightly dizzy. "I mean it. Release him. We can kill him afterwards if we don't get something we like."

Ted just glared at Netas, his ire rising up. "Yes. Please refrain from jumping on my body. As much as I would love to rend you limb from limb for our earlier fight, I came under a banner of non-caring." He let his body form into mist, slipping out from under the body on top of him.
Standing back up, he picked the gem up, and tossed it to Osiris. "I have no actual allegiance to any side of this war. I know that at any time I can leave this world if I wanted to. And I also have a small connection to Twilight, if the stories about her are correct, and she is truly a demon. At some point I would appreciate having a talk with her.
"Now that I have stated my reason for being here, what do you say about helping me out?"

Netas snarled, her grip never loosening. She didn't need to release him, he had already turned to mist. Her great head whipped around, her scaled lips curled back over her large teeth as her long claws tug into the ground. Her entire body was quivering and coiling in on itself; he needed to die! He was an enemy!
