heart You found my heart and rebuilt it from dust... heart ((ah ok thank you froggy))
Outai had heard about the Mishap Mercenaries from a faint memory that had decided to search her out. It wasn't unusual for something like that to happen. After all, the curse of being a telepath is that sometimes other people's minds would seek you out, wanting to be heard without the conscious knowing about it. It was just as well, though. Outai liked to help, but her means of doing so was limited by her unique physical features. People usually backed away in fear just because of how she looked - dead - so she deliberately hid her features behind a mask and cape. They served her purposes well enough. After having been a mercenary in the past, Outai figured she could take up the duty once more. Sure, sometimes helping other people meant that someone, or something, had to die, but if that someone or something was evil, then she supposed it was a price to pay. Most likely, though, she would either be given jobs, or take up jobs, that were menial, even if she had skills greater than what were required. Every little bit helps, after all. After asking around, Outai finally got a location. Of all places, it was a library. Just the thought of it excited her inner book worm. When she opened the double doors in front of the library, she had expected a rather large room filled with books. What she had expected undermined what was really there, as she was nearly taken off her feet at just how many books were there. She fought hard to keep her bookworm self at bay, to keep from running through the place with glee no matter who was in the way and look at every single book that was on the shelves. "Oh...my...goodness..." Outai said dazedly as she wondered into the library, her eyes large and starry in glee. "It looks like you hit the mother-load of all libraries." Mooney told her telepahtically, equally in awe. "Amen to that!"

((Guys, I'm pretty sure Balthazaar has gone MIA.
Also, Frogtaur, I have the bios for the baddies, if you want them.))
They finally came to a large door, made of wood. Gregory had explained to him it was made from the wood of Noah's Ark- he had also explained it was done so because it was impossible to hide an object of that size. Gregory knocked with the giant knocker hanging on the door, and it slid open.
"This is ae vaery sacred room," he explained as they walked in. "There are always at least five guards oon dooty at aeny time."
As they walked in, Riku saw several more objects. One he recognized instantly- the Holy Cross, standing in the center of the room. What looked like millions of gold pieces were stored in a small cavern to the left, and what looked like scrolls were held in a small hole in the wall.
"The ooriginal Dead Sea Scrools," Gregory drawled on in his thick Irish accent. As he said that, one guard handed him a small piece of parchment, which he then handed to Riku. It wasn't a scroll- something was inside it. He opened it, and a small green crystal fell out. He picked it up, and felt his energy begin to drain. He knew what it was, but it was the first time he had seen it.
"Emperium...."
"That is coorect," Gregory smiled. "Oone of the oonly surviving samples. It oot tae lead ye to tha Blade itself." Riku nodded, and slipped the crystal into a small pouch.
A strange chuckling emanated from somewhere in the room. A boy's voice spoke up, in a slight but noticable Chinese accent.
"We expected to have stolen the crystal ourselves. But you lead us right to it."
"Silly, silly assassin," another accented voice, this time a girl's, came from nearby as well. "Now we will just have to kill you!"

ooc::: 'Ey look, I finally got my lazy arse to make that post I've been needing to make. Anyway, thank you those who told me thier codenames. I'll add those to the list, ASAP. The final entries are due Friday! I only have one in, come on Guys. Pick up the game or else, the one guy who turned it in is gonna get that Vice Captain position. Also, School started Monday, and I move again Saturday, so no internet acess for atleast a week. But, I will be posting another of the tri post before then, and the voting for the vice commands will commence Saturday morning. (If you all turn in yer second app)
"Let me drive!" Stalker whined, her bottom lip was puckering out in a pout.
"No Stalker! The last time you drove, I had to hijack another one of these. And Commander had to hotwire it all over again." Rubiks had her hands firmly gripping the wheel of the second stray Pirate ship the trio had to commandeer. The first one was still a massive heap of steel, wood, and flames, thanks to Xinrie's expert steering job. Never, ever, give a Teenager with undiagnosed ADD the keys to an armed air ship. It just went bad. She sighed, ignoring Stalker's pleas for the time being to glance back at Ryanna.
The Commander was staring into the dark sky space with tightly locked eyes. She was manning the gigantic sub-machine gun mounted on the front of the ship.
"Commander, We're coming up on the Main Ship now. Should I set it into hover mode?" Rubik's index finger hovered hesiatantly over the auto-pilot button.
"Understood Rubiks, Engage Hover mode. Stalker, stop your blubbering and retrieve the P.O.W.'s uniforms." Ryanna had turned on Leader mode just like that. She quickly stood, and began to unscrew the gun from it's mount. It would make for an excellent entry weapon.
"Fine! And they ain't war prisoners, they're jus' Prisoners." Xinrie shuffled back to the heavy steel door, mumbling the entire time about how they weren't at war. She wrneched it open, slipped through it, and slammed the door shut. Several muffled screams and sobs on top of a cackle of sadistic glee coul be heard on the other side of the door.
Rubiks rolled her eyes, bunch of pansy pirates. But hten again, her younger sister and Ryanna could be the scariest people out ther ehwen they wanted to be. "Uhm, Commander, Might I ask what it is that you plan to do with that can of RedBull, and theQW789 Sub-Machine gun?"
Ryanna dumped the two before mentioned objects on the ground. "These...are for Stalker. We have to make an entrance somehow. And a hyped of Stalker is the best bet."
The seventeen year old's eyes widneed slightly. A sleepy Xinrie with a gun was scary enough, but one jazzed up with caffine was absoloutly terrifying. "Right...So long as I go in last, I'm god with the plan."
It was then that Xinrie came stomping back into the room, her face cracked into a goofy-looking lopsided smile. She was already outfitted in loosely baggy tan capri's, a red bandana, and over-sized white shirt. Obviously, she had jacked the clothes from the Captives. "Here's yours Commander, aaand Your Rubiks! They're all a little, er, large, but they should fit."
Rubiks held the cloth that Stalker had shoved into her hands out for examination. "Stalker....why do I have to wear the polka-dotted skirt from Hell?"
"Cause I sure as heck wouldn't wear it, and can you imagine the commander wearing that thing?" She snorted.
Ryanna sighed, she was already dressed in her new attire and carefully folding her original clothes into neat little squares. "Everyone, please be quiet. I do believe we are coming to the entry port. Quickly now, Captain Stalker, Drink this, and take the gun. Alright, act, natural..." Her words faded away as the tiny ship slowly edged it's way closer to the massive port side of the 'S.S. Scwabler.'

[[I know its been a long time. I appologise. The navy has kept me a very busy man. I will try to get back in the swing of things.]]
He entered the head quarters and headed towards the library. He wasn't sure how many of the mercinaries would be there. He knew that a lot might have changed since he left and there would be more new faces.
He walked slowly, and without purpose to the library. He was exhausted from the mission he just completed. It took him a few months to clean up the situation in the town. He was sent to investigate a situation in an old town and try to find a solution. He ended up fighting the pirates and bandits that had claimed the town. He had earned the support of the people in the town who helped him in the final fight.
He looked like he had been to hell and back. His coat was torn. His shirt was tied around his left arm as a bandage of some sort. The blood that had dripped and slid down from his many cuts and wounds had dried durring the long trip back. He did not move with pride, it was not his style, and he was exhuasted. He knew he would have many scars of the battle that had ensued.
As he entered the library, he noticed a woman looking, with what looked to him like an uncontrolable excitement that she was trying to hide, at the mariad of books in the library.
She is doing an exceptional job at hiding her excitement. That is a good skill for a mercinary to have. I wonder how new she is to Mishaps. I'm sure I will find out in due time. Right now I need to check in, then head to my quarters for a real shower and some well needed R&R. Hopefully they wont need me to do anything right away.
He stopped and looked around, waiting for moment. There wasn't any need to hurry, yet.

heart You found my heart and rebuilt it from dust... heart Outai wondered through the library, not sure where to start reading. There were so many books! She'd never seen a library so huge in her entire life, and that said a LOT. She'd lived far longer than any normal human could ever hope of living, and in that time she had seen a LOT of libraries. None of them measured up to what she saw now. As she wondered through the aisles, her legs barely allowing her to move, she noticed another presence, one that had just entered, and was obviously exhausted beyond belief. It was because of this apparent exhaustion that she decided to leave the person be, so that they could move on and get rest. Once they were rested, if she saw that person or sensed them nearby again, then she would ask questions. She was new to this place, and not quite sure where to go. "Hm, I wonder..." she muttered, partly to herself. "What?" Mooney replied. "That new presence I just felt seemed very tired, almost like they'd been through hell. Perhaps we can help if there are injuries. It's equally possible that it is only exhaustion, though." "Want me to check it out?" "Please do." "Right." Mooney jumped off from her shoulder where he had been resting, and landed on the floor gracefully, as a cat would do if it had jumped off from a fence. He followed the presence that Outai had sensed - he had sensed it too, after all - until he came up on the man that had just walked in. He did indeed look like he'd been through quite a battle, and was somewhat injured. He didn't think it was life threatening, but it wouldn't hurt to help if he could. Just in case, he decided to keep his cover and act like an ordinary cat. He sniffed the mans shoes, and then began to purr and rub himself up against the man's legs, almost as if to beg for attention.

The subway continued speeding along the rails toward the next platform. Larry sat with Clarissa and talked while Marissa stood in the opposite corner talking with a couple that she recognized. Listening to his sister's words intently, Larry was also careful not to let Marissa know. Otherwise, she was sure to counter-act Clarissa's calm words with her own, it was just her way.
He had been asking his sister question after question about their childhood on the block. Nothing was left out. Anything to help him better understand his sisters. They were just on the subject of Larry's mother, when Clarissa kicked a sensitive spot.
"Yeah... After dad got mom bumped with you two, he left." Larry said "That's the among the latest of my early memories, after that it kinda fades away." "Yeah, dad didn't have enough money to support more kids, 'specially not twin girls. That's what ma said. But I always thought he had someone else."
Thinking back, Larry could remember his mother saying something like that to him before he slammed his door and started crying with his pillow practically smothering his face. Without hesitation, he returned to his questions.
"Do you remember the day that I started working at the delivery agency?" "Yes. It seemed like any other day, except that you came home with a hurt knee and a black eye. Ma thought you got in a fight at school." "And after that? As I recall I caught on to it pretty quick and ma kept breaking even on the money in the coffee can. Why didn't you put it to use and stay in school?"
Clarissa leaned over and touched his hand. Larry could tell that there were some serious emotions coming back. With a tear in her eye, Clarissa said "Marissa and I needed a brother. But we didn't have one when we needed it." and she started to cry. Instantly, all the years of repressed brotherly love kicked in and Larry started hugging his sister. He held her like that the entire ride until they reached their destination. The rest of the trip to the stadium, Larry didn't say a word.

Riku drew the sabers at his side, and wished he had the Hellion Angels with him. These sabers, short single-edged swords with curved blades, felt awkward and unbalanced in his hands. His katars were balanced just for him.
I guess it's these or nothing, he thought to himself, when suddenly there was a brilliant flash of light. Riku, who still had the shades on, still felt it's brilliance, even as he held a hand over his eyes and shut them. When the light subsided, he opened them, and they quickly adjusted to the sudden darkness. The others, including Gregory, had not been so lucky; they were still blinded from the flash.
A shadow jumped up at one of the guard's feet and sucked him into the darkness. It seemed to creep along with an unnatural movement, almost as if it was a living shadow. It killed all of the guards, then turned towards Gregory. Despite still being blinded, he knew the shadow was there, and jumped back as it came at him. Riku channeled his energy into the swords, and they burst into a brilliant light. However, something happened, and the light seemed to grow brighter and brighter. Whatever it was, Riku wasn't controlling them. He threw them down as they seemed to get hot in his hands.
Two figures dropped from the ceiling. They weren't very old; they couldn't have been older than 15. Riku recognized them from the photo; Zen Po and Zen Li, known otherwise as Yin and Yang. They were twins from China, and they controlled light and darkness; hence their codenames.
Po, or "Yin", was a girl. She wore a black Chinese dress, and her hair was tied back in a ponytail. She seemed to give off a dark aura; indeed, she was the one controlling the shadows.
Li, or "Yang", was a boy. He wore a white male outfit, and seemed to glow with light energy.
The two giggled, and Li spoke up. "Silly man. You cannot keep the crystal from us."
"Yes, you will not keep the crystal from us," Po said, and giggled. "Master Kavinsky needs it for his plans. And he wants you dead!"
She sent a surge of darkness towards Riku, but he was prepared. He jumped upwards, and sent a small ball of light into the wave of shadow below. It scattered, but the light came flying back towards Riku, now under Li's control. He summoned a small shield of Chaos, which only barely blocked the attack.
Damn, the crystal's still draining my Chaos power, he thought to himself. This isn't good.
"Riku!" He looked down to see Gregory charging Li, despite the intense light he was giving off. "They cannae' fight withoot each other! If we separate them, we may have ae chance to beet them back tae their master!"
"Right," Riku said, and flung himself towards Po.

As he stood there, he started to revel in the magnifisence of the library. He didnt really notice it, or take it in, when he first arived. He was only here for a few days before he went out on the mission. Maybe it was because of the woman's interest, that he became intregued. It couldn't hurt to try and see what she might be seeing, or at least take a look.
He heard some movement, like a small being landing softly on the ground, and saw a cat. The cat was apperantly on the sholder of the woman and perhaps curious. The cat came up to him and started brushing up against him. He didn't mind it at all. He delayed his reaction like a normal person would. He noticed that there was something different about this cat. He would have crouched down to pet the cat and give the attention it expected, but to be honest, he wasn't sure if his back would hold out for that movement. He gave a slight bow to aknowledge the cat's presence.
Hello there. It seems she has a pet. One that is closely bonded to her, for i didnt notice him till he move away from her. Or she has a force around her that hid their true presence. There seems to be something unique about this loyal cat. I can't put a finger on it just yet. But perhaps I won't have to. I'm to tired to try and figure it out. And I'm not one to pry. It is intreguing though.
He watched the cat for a few minutes, then decided hesitantly, to sit down for some light meditation. He wanted to see more of the library and try to understand her excitment, if that were possible. She seemed extremely interested. He allowed the cat to continue to explore to satisfy his curiosity. A cat would not destract him from simple meditation unless he wanted it to, which is unlikely due to his ability to meditate during mundane and simple tasks.

heart You found my heart and rebuilt it from dust... heart Mooney had sensed that the man was on to him not being a normal cat, but he didn't really care. It would be evident soon enough anyway, and both he and Outai were getting used to the fact that perhaps, just perhaps, some people wouldn't freak out if they were not normal beings. He walked ahead of the man towards Outai a few steps, then looked back and meowed at him, as if to beckon the man to follow him. As he did so, he sent his own telepathic report of sorts to Outai, to let her know what was going on. "He is injured, you were right about that." Mooney told her telepathically. "Bring him my way, if you would please. If he is not willing to come to me, then I will go to him." was the telepathic response. "Way ahead of you." "Good kitty." heart ...and now let me return the favor for you. heart

He sighed when the cat motioned for him to follow. It wasn't an annoyed sigh, it was a tired sigh. Shadow got up slowly and headed towards the woman. He knew that was where the cat was leading him.
I wonder what it is she wants. I'm sure she might have questions, if she is new. I don't know how well I'll be able to answer them though. I myself and still new here. I have only done one mission since I've been here. Oh well, I'll do my best to help her if I can, and if thats what she wants.
He came up to her and stood a polite distance from her. He bowed respectfully. "Hello ma'am", he said politely even though he really did not want to talk too much.
He noticed that she was hiding, or at least trying to hide, everything about her. Her power, her appearance, and her feelings. It didn't bother him, for it was understandable. He himself is perhaps still a mystery to the other mercinaries.

heart You found my heart and rebuilt it from dust... heart When Mooney returned to her, Outai picked him up so he could climb up onto her shoulder again. "Looks like you've been through hell. I can heal you, if you wish, but it would be prudent to do so in the cafeteria. I was wondering if you could tell me where I need to go to apply to be a mercenary here. That is, if you don't mind directing me. Of course, you'll have to rest first." Outai said politely, still trying to hide her pure awe at being in such a huge library.
