Why is it mean? They have a world. We are all buddies. Making an elaborate band of people with heavily detailed past who work together to cause havok is not mean. It adds to the story and creates conflicts. Im not saying we go in god modding and douche bagging. I mean legit try and take over the world in the name of jeeheubler....
They say right on there to be creative and open.... And to help build the world.
If I want to have a maniac deathcult of batshit crazy cannibals then I think I should be allowed

I agree with Omega. If everyone in the world was a goody two shoes then there'd be no fun everyone would just run around helping old ladies cross the street and not much else, but if we had a maniac deathcult of batshit crazy cannibals, as omega put it, then we would have two forces struggling for power then we have goals to reach one wants to tear the world apart the other wants to purge it of evil and there is where the fun begins. Omega's group wants to eat the first born child of all the families and the other will try to stop him at all costs and that helps with progression.

I believe that evil is the most fun. simply because evil people don't think of of themselves as being evil. So you have to make a character who goes aginst your morals, while using logic to define why they find it to be okay to do what they do.
The simplest route is religion.
