He could hear each footstep, so he would not be taken by surprise unless Tristen learned quick attack spontaneously. It would be to Tails's fortune, Tristen, wearing what he is wearing, that wasn't happening any time soon. Tristen tried to push all he could. Every step felt like he was trying to move cinder blocks with his feet. "Tails?" he said as he started to approach.

"You're still it!" Tails said, then bolted from the wall to the nearest tree. With his claws he dug into the bark, and hauled himself onto a branch six feet from the ground.

Tristen made his way as fast as he could to the tree. Six feet off the ground. No big deal at all, really. Normally, that is. Seventy pounds of added weight? This...was going to not be pleasant.
Tristen hopped up onto the tree and tried to climb up, only to slowly slide down then fall on his back. "OOMPH!" After going through the 'turtle' motion that he had to do back in the training room back inside the headquarters to get back on his feet, he managed to stand back up then looked up, already looking a bit on the tired side. If anything, mission accomplished in getting Tristen moving around.
Tristen made another attempt at the tree, latching on and trying to shimmy his way up, only to make it up about two inches before losing it and falling back to the ground again. Tails may be waiting a while.

As Tristen struggled below, Tails let a tail dangle from the branch. It twitched, much like a cat's while it waits for a mouse to scurry by. He considered that Tristen might eventually get bored of this, so glanced about to see where he could continue this massive tease he started.

He considered that Tristen might eventually get bored of this, so glanced about to see where he could continue this massive tease he started. Tristen wasn't so much bored...as he was tiring out from this escapade. He made a third and fourth attempt, but then... "I...cant make it that...high...yet with...this on..." he said in between breaths.

Just as Tristen made it clear this was going nowhere, Tails found somewhere else he could lay about. He leaped from his perch, landed on all fours but ran two-legged to the pond near the other end of the valley. It was clear he was still in an awkward state of using instincts that weren't compatible with his body since returning.

It was clear he was still in an awkward state of using instincts that weren't compatible with his body since returning. Tristen watched Tails make his way off. Well. At least he is off the tree. Tristen shook about and made it back on his feet, warily at that, then started his way off after Tails. When he made it for the pond, he started to look around, trying to find Tails once again...but it was clear this kid was tired. Tails truly gave Tristen the run-around... "Taaaaaails?" Tristen spoke up. "Lets stop now." He wasn't sure if Tails was within earshot.

The algae coated surface rippled, and at first a pair of coated ears, then his head, and the rest of Tails emerged as he walked onto shore. "Aw, okay," he said. "Are you alright? I hope I didn't make you do too much."

"And he moves around like he's not wearing it at all."

"All his muscles are developed evenly from his years of training," Tails explained. "In a week, you'll be able to get to where I was sitting on that tree."
He sat down beside Tristen, watching the pond scum swirl about where he had surfaced. "Eventually, you'll be able to swim in it, too. Lifeguards have to be able to carry grown men and swim with just their legs, you know."

"The human body is very adaptive. Not to mention our Pokemon sides," Tails explained. "If you were full human, you could still adapt as quickly."

I guess I can't say a lot. Anything is easier than what the tribe did." While the physical scars are for the most part gone, emotional ones...tend to linger a bit. He shook his head, realizing things gotten a bit heavy there. Not something he wanted to think about. "Um. Hey. I think I'm good to go again if you want, Tails." He said. "I just needed to catch my breath a bit."
