The door to Crash's office came open, but the office within was barely recognizable. It was in shambles, paper and glass and scorches everywhere.

Hawke nodded and gestured for Anatoly to follow him through into his office. Hawke went behind the desk and began to gather up a few papers. "What division are you, Agent Davis?" he asked conversationally as he pulled a manila folder across the desk.

"Presently I'm floating between divisions," Anatoly replied. He laughed dryly. "I'm a former member of basic government intelligence services - FBI and all that jazz. They're trying to pick up personnel for a new team, apparently, so I'm in limbo until they can finish transferring me in. Technically, I don't have my full authority or my new rank yet, so they're sending me on stuff like this. With any luck, my paperwork will be filed and I can start real work and quit shuffling papers soon. "

Hawke nodded in understanding. "I know the feeling," he said, gesturing to the office with some measure of disdain.
"Here you are," he said, handing over the now-full manila folder. "And please, don't hesitate to drop in whenever you want. I get the feeling that action follows you like a dog." He smiled warmly.

Anatoly laughed. "Thanks for the invitation." He winked. "I'd love to tell you about a mission I had in Europe a while back but it's still classified. Your help is appreciated, of course. I'll be heading out now, but I'll probably be back later." He chuckled. "Have a nice day, Commander. It's been a pleasure." He picked up the papers with his left hand and extended his right.

Hawke took his hand in a firm grip and gave it a solid single shake. "You'll be welcome here, Agent Davis."
With that, he released Anatoly with the folder.

Anatoly nodded. "Good luck getting this mess sorted out," he said as he walked out, smiling at the commander. "I'm sure you can do it. I'm glad we've got guys like you around." He walked out and got into his van, started it up, and drove to a nearby fast food place to grab lunch and read his documents.

The documents were rather dry; scientific reports, chemical analysis of the site, etc. Nothing that immediately stood out.
His cheeseburger, however, was incredible.

"If I can teach physics, I can make sense of something in here," Anatoly muttered, staring at a spread of papers at a table after ordering two more cheeseburgers. He continued to read. Deciding to get out of public, he took the documents, being sure to put them all back in the folder, and returned to his car. Being a Blazer BLack HoverSUV, it had adjustable-tint, one-way-darkness windows. He set the darkness to its maximum setting and locked all the doors before continuing his analysis in the space in the back.

Anatoly began to slowly notice patterns: for one, the results for the chemical analysis of the fire residue was inconsistent in different areas. This meant, obviously, that the fires had been produced by different sources in different places.
Not only that, but the fact that there was no other forensic evidence - prints, DNA, anything - made it painfully clear that the scene had been wiped clean. How they had done this over such a wide area and in such a short time was unclear.

Anatoly racked his brain - what kind of residue would a Mysticker fire leave? Moreover, how could they erase all the evidence of Blazer Black having ever been there?

Nathan choked in panic for a moment again, collapsing against a wall and gripping his head in his hands for a moment. Oh, man, oh man oh man oh man oh

He needed to get a grip. He examined the office, wondering if there was anything intact. Maybe some loose Mystickers he could take and use? He didn't know if he was restricted to his element...

The residues did not match any of the basic Fire Mystickers, as evidenced by the comparison graphs within the folder.

No Stickers.

Anatoly pulled his cell phone out and connected to the Internet. He began to look up what would leave the residues the reports had found.

There was...nothing. No matches.
That was certainly ominous.

Anatoly frowned. "Fusion or fission attacks, maybe?" he muttered. He set the stacks of paper regarding the burns off to the side. He began looking at other report subjects.
